Pad Thai, 11.90 ringgit. Now this dish, was da bomb. Delicious. You’d get a plate of sticky, gooey noodles + peanut crumbs + pork meat + tauhu + bean sprouts, mix it all up and yummmmmm!! Of course, add in some chili oil into the mix and it even gets much better. This is worth every penny.

The Porki Society is a Thai restaurant in Sea Park just minutes’ drive away from SS2. They made waves with their boat noodles a couple of years ago when those were still considered the must try food in Klang Valley. Now, The Porki Society is perhaps better well known for their affordable and well executed Thai pork dishes, which I have to say are deserving of their reputation

Red curry [Pork (RM19.80)/ Seafood (RM23.80)] If you adore hot and spicy food, this dish is not to be missed. There's just something so unique about Thai's red coconut, which sits on the sweeter side in comparison to Malaysian curry, but delicious in their very own distinct way. This curry is ideal to be eaten with rice, its thick and savoury broth would make you engulf the rice in no time. We opted for pork, and they were pretty fresh and came in decent amount. Basically their curry is on par with most of the Thai food chains out there, but are more reasonably priced. So the next time you're craving for Thai curry but not ready to burn a hole in your wallet, this place is definitely your go to.

One of the must-try pasta dishes at Greyhound Cafe is the Spaghetti with Dried Salty Fish (RM26). For me, this is pretty similar to an aglio olio, with the addition of holy basil leaves and chillies as well as the crispy salty fish (which is not to be mistaken for salted fish as this is quite lightly salted) which adds texture to the overall dish. Due out of curiosity, we also did order a set of Tuk Tuk Laksa RM10.80 – serving with a bowl of laksa broth, spice leaves, bean sprouts, salted vegetables, and rice vermicelli. The result was surprising “Aroi Mak Mak Mak” (very very very delicious), once you dipped the rice vermicelli into the laksa broth and start chowing, next thing you can savor is the rich mellow goodness of coconut milk that directly overcomes with a fine scent of dried shrimps, lemongrass and various spices. We regard it as a delectable “Thai” laksa at its best, definitely worth our personal two thumbs up! 😉

Sanoook means Fun in Thai, and this is not to be confused with another establishment of similar name, with only two Os. Anyway, that's no longer around and the extra O represents the Circle of Friendship. The majority of the menu leans towards Thai specialities with Japanese offerings making up a small part of the menu only. The few that I tried, I have to say the Thai dishes made a more positive impact. The food I've managed to try here is average at best (though there's still plenty to try as the menu is quite extensive). Prices may be a little on the high side (for both types of cuisine, especially the desserts) but some of the Thai dishes do come in generous portion-sizes. I'm not sure if I'm convinced to order from the Japanese section of the menu again since they failed to nail the salmon skewer which I thought is one of the easiest things to execute. Managed by the fine folks of Chakri (of which I had the pleasure of dining before), I think the Thai dishes here are still worth checking out as they certainly won't be as expensive as Chakri. Just don't go in with too high an expectation and you should come off satisfied.

Verdict: The server there is really accommodating to our request and speedy service .. It's better to make a reservation if you want to be in a big group as the space of this eatery is not that large and it fills up rather quickly .. They have recently updated their menu with the inclusion of the dessert menu!

Pad Thai (RM 12.90) I tried their pad thai which is beautifully fried with the fresh ingredients. The taste comes perfectly good but it is slightly too wet for me. I prefer the pad thai with a more dryer version.

Back in August 2015, we ordered this Fish Thai Laksa at MYR 12.90++ (5% service charge and 6% GST = MYR 14.36 nett) at Old Siam eatery, One Utama and the price is still the same when I ate this a few days ago. Those are all the fish cubes from the fish curry. The curry is creamy but I find it a bit too salty and would prefer to be less salty.

Senthai & Mookata restaurant, tucked facing a car park lot in Menjalara, Kepong is an authentic Thai restaurant with chefs from Thailand. Therefore I find the taste of certain dishes foreign and unique to my taste bud. Well, what to do, this is a jakun who seldom eat Thai food ^-^. So, I did a search in google for the meaning of SenThai and Mookata. "In Thailand the BBQ is called a “Mookata”, which translates directly to “Pork Pan” source :My Thailand Holiday. Loosely translated, it is noodles and BBQ Thai style. Hmm... let's see.

Even for steamboat, they use the traditional steamboat pot that uses charcoal as the burning medium. Since charcoal is used, there is no way to control the fire. So, you got to be extra careful. As for ingredients, you could either order the fixed set or a la carte or both. We had their Seafood Set for 2 pax @ RM58.00.
