Grilled lemongrass pork chops RM30 The pork chop was tender and juicy, with an unpared fragrance from the lemongrass, a flavour which reminds me of the Thai and we are a big fan of. The rice was fragrant, and firm, great when paired with the salted egg yolk sauce, which is buttery, creamy and savoury. The taste and presentation wise, this dish absolutely deserves a 5/5, but what's upsetting was the fact that the portion needed a major upgrade in order to feed a normal adult.
With this positive experience, maybe I should give the USJ21 outlet another try soon.
伏特加酒 Vodka on the rocks with Soda and Cranbeery (1 for 1 at $28), definitly something different to my taste buds.
We went to AK Noodles at Tropicana City Mall for lunch. I ordered prawns with vit noodles (instant noodles) at MYR 11.50+ (5% service charge making it MYR 12.07 nett). The portion is quite small so it is just the right amount for me. The prawns were fresh enough and I put the prawns with their shells into my mouth and spat out the shells later whereas my friend peeled off the shells of the prawns before putting them into her mouth.
Verdict: Taste wise, the food I had was good although not too outstanding but the attractive prices definitely the main pull factor.
Verdict: I like the ambience and wide variety of products and fresh produces offered by Oliver Gourmet which made grocery shopping and enjoyable experience. The cook-on-demand certainly bring convenience to those who doesn’t cook at home but as a working mother like myself, I’m glad that I can take-away the cooked food too whenever the lazy bugs bite 😛
The last time I ate at S.Wine was in 2014 at Publika Mall. Nearly 3 years on, we celebrated a co-worker's birthday during lunch time at S.Wine Cafe in Tropicana City Mall. This restaurant is more spacious and has more greenery in it than the one in Publika so I prefer the ambiance here.
You can certainly wine and dine on swine here but I would strongly recommend some salads to go with your mains, otherwise the meal may end up to be too much meat in one sitting. Having said that, all their salads also come with some kind of meat...be it pork belly, pork neck, bacon, sausage or chicken....and costing as much as a main (this was the very reason why I didn't want to order a salad in the first place). And since I didn't order any salads, I'm also not sure if the salads or more heavy on meat or greens. Although my dining experience didn't turn out all that well for me, I'm not going to pin the blame on the food or come to a conclusion about the food here. I blame myself for possibly making the wrong choices where the dishes contained some ingredients that weren't to my liking to begin with. But one thing I'm sure is the overly porky taste of the pork...at this place....and many other similar porky places that I'm weary of such places nowadays. Am I destined not to enjoy this kind of pork? But if you don't suffer from an overly piggy taste profile (like me), feel free to try out this place to see if you like it. It's a place for people who loves meat, meat and more meat! ^_*
