Wondermama has inflated prices on their food, but it is possible to get a good meal for lower than you expected if you get one of their value sets or sharing platters. On our visit there was an additional unexplained 15% discount on food, so we ended up paying an astoundingly great price for two huge dishes with drinks. Pair that with an enjoyable atmosphere and perennially cheerful staff and Wondermama is worth a visit. Especially if you’re in that part of 1 Utama’s old wing and can’t be arsed to walk all the way to that restaurant in the new wing that you want.

The Totally Tom Yum (RM 16.90) The Totally Tom Yum is one of our favourites where the chicken is perfectly deep fried till crispy and topped with the aromatic hint of light spiciness. It is simply fragrant as well. Thanks to the dried chillies, lemongrass and the kaffir lime leaf that added the umph .. in the lime popcorn.

One of the new signature dishes here is the Wonder Nasi Ayam Berempah (RM27.90), which we love. This dish takes inspiration from three local Malaysian rice dishes, so you can expect to find elements from nasi lemak, nasi biryani and nasi kerabu. It's like a mini buffet on a plate as you get aromatic spiced rice along with a juicy fried chicken, sambal prawn, kerabu kacang botol, homemade sambal merah and hijau, salted egg, laksa soup and pappadom. Absolutely delicious, we highly recommend that you try this!

Chicken Bowl at MYR 15 nett. I kept half for dinner. It is tasty with small pieces of pita bread, corns, cubes of red and green capsicum, cubes of raw onions, and pieces of chicken thigh. They sprinkled some parmesan cheese on top of this dish too.

They have quite a variety of nasi lemak in their selection from the Nasi Lemak Soft Shell Crab, Nasi Lemak Salted Egg Chicken and many more. And the nasi lemak ayam rendang is packed with the creamy rendang which is spicy and topped with a chicken on top. Sides with the sambal sotong, kangkong, as well as crackers.
