Sous vide-cooked spring chicken RM65 -succulent and locked with moist. A dish that children and adults alike will love. Dressed in cepe mushroom reduction sauce, comes with a side of preserved red cabbage. Garlic potato puree is a little too creamy to us, but if you love real buttery, melt-in-the-mouth food, this could be your favourite.

Roti Babi, 11 ringgit There were several dishes that were popular here and one of them is the Roti Babi. Just by looking around, you’d be able to see this dish on almost every other table. Sure, it is loaded with calories but it was da bomb. The top and bottom of this dish is made up of french toast and on the inside, there is a generous portion of flavorful pork minced meat + caramelized onions. Yummy!

3rd Course :Grilled Octopus Tentacle As for the third course, one can go for the Grilled Octopus Tentacle or the Truffle Risotto. Being a fans of seafood, the grilled octopus tentacle is definitely my choice. Using only the octopus tentacle, they are beautifully grilled till perfection leaving you with the juicy bites. Pan Mee, 9.50 ringgit It was yummy! The noodles here are made in house, it was chewy and had a more springy consistency. The dish came with the usual items – thick noodles, egg, anchovies, mince meat with a side of vegetable. Once you give it a nice mix, it becomes thick and gooey. Some folks like it that way but if it is still a lil too dry for you, just add in a spoonful of that soup and you’re set. Delicious it certainly was. Yum!

Taste-wise, Mohd Yaseen Penang Nasi Kandar was a disappointment and nothing memorable. Though unique, the Ayam Madu was coated with lots of cancerous red colouring and the curries were spicy without in dept flavours. It is definitely good, ‘sedap’ but it is not the best there is out there. The appeal here is the good food + affordable price point. Who can resist that combination, right?? It is ‘mamak’ food at its best. Food-wise, I was happy with everything except the Ayam Madu. I was expecting tender chicken with thick, sweetened honey syrup coating but here, it was done differently. Tender chicken it was but the ‘madu’ part was missing. In its place was some other gravy with onions. Besides that, food was yummy. The curry was thick and flavorful, the fried chicken was chewy yet tender. Bendi and cabbage were awesome additions in making both plates wholesome.

Verdict? Never go to Kudu during Ramadhan month. The chicken is extremely hard - presumably from reheating the food due to low demand during Ramadhan month. Oh the chicken is rock hard I assure you can kill someone by throwing at them. The okra is clearly undercooked it wouldn't break apart when you bite it! Another colleague ordered the chicken drumstick, it is so small like which is as big as the Eclipse mint box! So pathetic.

Michelin starred or not, I applaud the guts of Chef Li putting modern sin cuisine on the table. It is not easy getting creative with food that we Singaporeans have known all our lives to be cheap, affordable and tasty.

Overall the meal was pleasant and I did enjoy but I’m sure there are even more interesting dishes that I’ve yet to try.

Cucur Udang (RM9.90 from the lunch menu) A balanced mix of shrimp and paste made for the perfect tenderness and crunchiness in any bite. Sweet and spicy homemade chilli sauce added an extra oomph to the delicious bite-sized awesomeness. Unconventional looking satays that actually taste good. What I adore about the dish was not the way it looks whatsoever, but rather the quality of the meat they used in each stick! Instead of throwing in fats every now and then to make up a stick of satay, they used only the flesh, all of which was nicely marinated, and then grilled to golden perfection.

A slightly different kind of steamed Song fish head that uses less ginger or other spicy ingredients to mask the Song's fish natural earthly taste.

Ong Lai is one of the ol skool Chinese restaurants that have been in town for many years. MIL has told me so much about the awesome steam fish, fried noodles and orchien. The menu is simple and straightforward. Classic favourites for old and young alike. Take your pick of sitting in the alley or inside the shop. We opted for the latter.

Maju Palace Cantonese Cuisine 萬寶城 Restaurant

The lunch dim sum is very popular as well.

Likes: Quite good dimsum for Halal standards. Some non-pork dishes in general are authentic. Nice staffs. Dislikes: Manager is really rude (the one with the huge hair like bird's nest), luckily her staffs are nice. I always avoid asking her to get the orders as she is really rude, and I notice she is only nice to men and slam plates when its a bunch of ladies. It's too obvious that everytime I visit, I will not want her to serve us at all.

RSMY Best Cheese Naan - Medan Tuanku Restaurant

Verdict Sad to say, but the cheese naan is not the best we’ve tasted. We felt the cheese lacked in flavours, the entire dish just wasn’t all that good to us. On the brighter note, for the price you are paying the Extra Cheese Naan certainly comes with a lot of cheese. Also we loved was the thickness and taste of the dhall, which was served hot. The next time we would probably just opt for a regular naan or roti canai and pair it with the dhall.

One of the biggest Mamak foot hit was the famous Penang Line Clear Nasi Kandar had migrated down to Kampung Baru at KL. It was a big news to many Line Clear fans from Penang including myself. However I only pay a visit to them after a year plus in operations. This was through a family dispute and hence this branch is born. As what my friend said, they are the operator for Penang outlet for the past 10 years.

At first I did not want to take the nasi lemak, but looking at the lady next to me enjoying her every bite then we decided to try out too. It is good! I took Ayam Masak Merah and Cuttle Fish. All cook to perfection and of course a sunny side up. Sambal is different from others, as you can taste the spices of chili, mild spicy with sweet end for Pak Hassan version, and I did my usual is a mix curry ontop of my Nasi Lemak. Nasi Lemak here is fragrant with pandan and mild santan yet it is dry enough to make it pieces.
