Yut Kee Restaurant located in Chow Kit, Kuala Lumpur, is a Hainanese Kopitiam that has been operating since 1928. If you're looking for a local Malaysian breakfast or brunch spot, definitely come and try out Yut Kee Restaurant. It's classic marble table and wooden chairs decor brings us back time as it gives the old school kopitiam vibe.
Roti Babi, 11 ringgit There were several dishes that were popular here and one of them is the Roti Babi. Just by looking around, you’d be able to see this dish on almost every other table. Sure, it is loaded with calories but it was da bomb. The top and bottom of this dish is made up of french toast and on the inside, there is a generous portion of flavorful pork minced meat + caramelized onions. Yummy!
Overall, albeit some dishes in Yut Kee are not that good as expected but undoubtedly there are still some delectable dishes serving here, and I'm still looking forward to paying a visit again for their Roasted Pork Roll in the future.
i personally feel that their Pork Chop tasted average but i like that it has a lot of gravy on it
When we reached Yut Kee, there were many people waiting for seats but we did not have to wait long and were shown to our table. We did not order the popular dishes such as Pork Bun and Hainanese Chicken Chop because we felt like eating noodles. The noodles taste ok with reasonable price.
Staffs were considered friendly but before we sat down, they already standing next to us, waiting to take down order. So stress and pai seh. We didn’t dare to browse through Yut Kee menu at all. Straight away ordered few items pop-up in our mind – Hainan Chicken Chop, Curry Chicken Mee Hoon Mee, Half Boiled Eggs and coffee. Glad that we did some homework by checking out some Yut Kee food photos and reviews before coming. LOL.
Pardon me, before this, I wasn’t aware that Yut Kee is a famous heritage place that serves up toothsome Hainanese food, till the Chief Food Connoisseur (CFC) told me about it. I was told that this restaurant has quite some history back, and now that the business has expanded into a bigger space, not to mention within a more comfortable and modern setting.
Yut Kee is well known for its Roast Pork Roll which is only available on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. You may order it special – which comes with chips and vegetables, the roast pork by itself (2 or 3 slices), halved or whole. The roast pork are made fresh and only cut upon order.
