In summary, our experience at Fish with You was a good one with the spicy sensations. The Fresh Sichuan Peppercorn Suancai Fish, especially when upgraded to Toman fish, is a true crowd-pleaser. Moreover, with the added bonus of free-flowing rice, Fish with You at Starling Mall has earned a spot on our list of favorites.
Last month, we explored M Dining for the other half’s birthday. It offers boojie Thai fare with Western contemporary approach, thanks to an inspired chef Wilson returning from Melbourne. The tagline in lights, ‘Eat outside the box’ gives away what to expect.
Beca Tea is like an art class but with tea. They make each cup look pretty, like they’re painting. And the tea menu has lots of choices, so you can find one that you like. It’s not just tea; it’s tea with style!
It was a very big portion of rice (I like!) with many tiny cubes of ox tongue and the wok hei aroma was wonderful. The fried egg as you can see in the background was pathetic.
I rather enjoyed this roti canai wrap and though I would not say that it is spectacular, it makes for a tasty and filling meal. If you like burritos or wrap sandwiches, you will enjoy Rollti.
My tastebuds have been ruined changed so it was not ecstatic like it used to be. But still, fulfilling a craving is a form of satisfaction even if it did not bring about the thrill that you expected.
My main course. Fried beef koay teow which I have eaten twice (and enjoyed) via Grabfood. Oh yes, it was wonderful, hot off the wok. I helped myself to the delicious chili oil. Ah! So good!
I'm afraid the wanton mee was not up to the standards of wantan mee that I am used to. It was overcooked and soggy. Besides, the sauce was not quite there and somehow Hakka pork does not seem like an apt accompaniment (at least to me). The soup was just all right with three decent tasting wantons.
Pretty impressed by the good service and attentiveness. All in all, a very enjoyable meal and making more trips here.
Aside from the cafe’s annoying insistence that everything has to be done through our phones, we had an excellent meal at Pastel. The dishes are quite cheap compared to what we’re used to. Several items on the menu look great, so there’s a good chance we’ll come back.
