The London Roast Duck is priced at RM98 for half a duck, or RM188 for a whole duck. The duck is marinated with five spice powder, chef's special salt and other spices, and subsequently given a vinegar bath and hung for 6-8 hours for it to thoroughly dry. Spring onion is added to the cavity and sealed to keep in the juices and it is then roasted in the traditional Apollo oven for 30 minutes. It gets a final bath in hot oil before serving with chef's special homemade plum sauce. The duck is undeniably tender with beautifully crisp skin, well-worthy of its title.

Bankara Ramen - Avenue K Restaurant

Lot 2-7, Level 2, Avenue K Mall, 156 Jalan Ampang Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

The word ”Bankara” is a colloquial term that was once used in Japan to best describe an individual outstanding and unique style amidst the swarm of a conformist society. Bankara’s brand values and product offering are unmistakably Japanese, yet differentiated from the market competitors in tantalising the customers dining experience, namely the palette and sensory immersion. Embracing the philosophy “Cooking by Heart”, Bankara brand is the result of Mr. Kusano’s desire to constantly innovate and improve the taste of Japanese ramen. Drawing upon his family’s expertise handed down through the generations, Mr. Kusano embarked on a quest in selecting the finest of ingredients and cooking techniques, to develop a new ramen soup recipe. In 1998, the “Impact” taste so broadly associated with the brand, heralded the arrival of the Bankara Signature Ramen. With over 60 premium outlets spanning across Japan, Indonesia and Thailand, we proudly present Bankara Raman Malaysia.

My Personal Opinion I'm not a big fan of ramen and don't have it often enough for the very reasons why people find ramen appealing....for the intensely rich-flavoured pork bone broth and fatty meat. Maybe I should try a lighter soup base...or chicken ramen next time since I prefer clear, milder flavours. Still a worthy ramen option to those who adore big, bold flavours! ;)

With limited food choices in this mall, I'd say this is the best option for food if you find yourself in this mall though prices may be on the upper end. It's worthwhile to check out this particular Chef's Special of the day if you happen to see it offered or find it on the regular menu (some day). And if you like pizzas, you can watch your favourite (and delicious) pizzas being made in a wood-fired oven right in front of you. Char Siew (2 people), 20 ringgit. The food was tasty. Just for the Char Siew alone, I’d head back here anytime. It was utterly delicious. The outer later was slightly blackened, sweet, crispy and chewy and the inside was oooo tender and succulent, with just the right amount of fat. It was hands down, one of the best pork meat I’ve tasted in a long time.

The only set back is the price - a meal for two costs us almost RM50. Individual pack goes for about RM8 each, which is slightly higher than most coffee shops out there but its reasonable along Jalan Ampang area. Nevertheless, they delivered the quality we expected so we are not quite bothered about it. The char siew is very nicely caramelised with a hint of smokey flavour and it has a balance of fats and meat as well. The outer layer is very nicely crisp - not the entire piece but slightly bits and pieces. Otherwise it'll be overcooked. Well, I like it that way as my meat is still juicy inside.

Creamy rich and fragrant coconut rice, freshly fried anchovies and peanuts with spicy sambal topped with your choice of fried chicken, rendang or even sambal sotong. Verdict: Indeed a rock bottom deal for the price paid. It’s definitely a fully loaded portion more than enough for 4 persons. Food was above average I would say and the comfortable environment and cozy ambiance certainly great for all kind of gatherings. Priced at RM180.00+ for four person (without wine) and RM230.00+ with a bottle of wine (red or white), available every Saturday until 20th December 2017. The price is unquestionably reasonable for the food quality and portion, not to mention the comfortable environment, enjoy the barbequed food without breaking a sweat.

Even though I can overlook the taste that wasn't quite all there that evening, I don't think I can overlook the way they set out to conduct their business....not having fresh pizza slices and hot dogs for their customers in the evening (but let them have whatever's leftover from the day), not bothering to ensure that their till has small change, not hiring enough help, things like that.

The portion of the dishes may seem small, but many of the items can be repeatedly ordered, so diners are sure to walk away with their tummies filled to the brim. Everything served was delicious and the raw dishes were very well handled. They were fresh, free of foul smell or taste and perfectly cut.

YOU ARE HERE: HOME / FOOD VENTURE / LA JUICERIA SUPERFOODS @ AVENUE K: HEALTHY EATING MADE EASY La Juiceria Superfoods @ Avenue K: Healthy Eating Made Easy MAY 5, 2017 BY SUMMERKID_SUMMERGIRL LEAVE A COMMENT We still remember our dining experience at Goodness Green by La Juiceria at TTDI KL some time back. Food was memorable – Colourful, healthy but not short of flavours. We especially loved their Buddha Bowl, Customized Salad bowl and Acai Berry Bowl. Have not been there for quite some time due to hassle of parking in that area and distance from our staying place, so we are pretty glad when we heard that they are now having an outlet at Avenue K Shopping Mall, Kuala Lumpur. La Juiceria Superfoods Named as La Juiceria Superfoods, this cafe aims to offer nutritional yet delicious food at affordable price. Diners can expect a menu similar to Goodness Green by La Juiceria. Selections may be be smaller, more focus on express-style but certainly no compromise on the quality and balanced nutrition. As the cafe’s name suggests, superfoods. La Juiceria Superfoods Smoked Duck Soba RM18.90 Visited this place for dinner last week, sampling Smoked Duck Soba and Teriyaki Chicken Grain Bowl – the newly launched dishes on Superfoods La Juiceria menu, as well as Nasi Lemak Wrap – a dish name that really raised our curiosity on how it will taste like. La Juiceria Superfoods For both the new dishes, it is ideal for diners looking for comfort food at simple flavours. Soba tossed with dressing in light creaminess, topped with smoked duck slices that deliver main flavours. Other option on soda includes Tofu Soba Noodle Salad, Teriyaki Chicken Soba and Tuna Flake Soba. La Juiceria Superfoods Teriyaki Chicken Grain Bowl RM18.90 La Juiceria Superfoods While for Teriyaki Chicken Grain Bowl, it is more filling with brown rice and quinoa base, topped with poached kampung egg, mixed salad leaves, sesame seeds and shredded seaweed. We mixed everything together like “bibimbap”. Nice!

I'm not sure if the taste of Kobe wasn't as awesome as I had hoped because of the poor execution or that Kobe beef itself didn't suit my taste buds. I'm not sure I'd want to try Kobe again for fear that I may end up paying my (or someone else's) hard-earned money for something that I actually don't enjoy. But one thing I'm sure....if I do try Kobe beef again, it certainly won't be at Kobe Grand, Ampang...there was nothing grand about their Kobe beef! :P

Not a big fan of alcohol because I get migraines whenever I have them, even in small amounts, but taste wise, these were not bad at all. I especially liked the High Five as it only had a faint taste of gin, with a stronger hint of honey.
