If you are not sure what to order every time you walk into a restaurant(which happens to me most of the time), it's always a good idea to just go with the Omakase & Osusume menu. Omakase & Osusume have more or less the same meaning. Omakase = Up to you ; Osusume = Recommended. The new Osusume menu starts at RM80 onwards and is available for dinner only. The new dessert menu starts at RM45 onwards and is available from 4 August 2017 to 2 September 2017.

Gruyere cheese souffle in cast iron pan, served with walnut, raisin, petite salad & truffle dressing. Twice baked so you get a thin, lightly crisp top layer contrasting by jiggly fluffy, cotton soft cheesy souffle beneath. We love this so much! Highly recommended real good stuff!

There's nothing I like more than dining in a place that's serene and beautiful as food always tastes better when you're in the right mood and feeling relaxed! ;) You can't go wrong with pizzas or salads here...you may even want to give their unique take on laksa a try. Though I felt that desserts may not be their forte (in a place that's focussed on food rather than desserts), they were able to hold their own and proved respectable...just don't compare them with speciality dessert houses or artisan bakeries (it wouldn't be fair to) and you should still come away with your sweet cravings satisfied.

What a strange name, I thought to myself, immediately associating the word with turkeys, who purportedly go gobble gobble by way of speech. Whilst I've said time and again, I am not a buffet fan, (at my age, one has to very selective of what one consumes, and every bite must be worth the calories, so excuse me if I sound fussy), I was quite intrigued by the fact that the buffet is only RM80 nett, for the promotional months presumably celebrating the nation's birthdays. (two birthdays, one on 31st August, freedom from the shackles of the British imperialists, and 16th September again, Malaysia day). Anway, the promotion goes runs from 1st August to 30th September, and is available Thursdays to Saturdays. The good news for winos is, that for RM66 nett extra, you can opt for free flow house wine. Sounds like a dietary disaster to me, free flow food and wine.

Chir Chir Fusion Chicken Factory has really nailed their chicken dishes to near perfectness. Prices are on the higher end but that’s justifiable for the quality and portion they served. All of their dishes we tried is larger in portion than a lot of places and feeds at least 2 to 3 people. Go for their chicken dishes because they do those really well and their drinks are very good too. Now I am wishing for more Chir Chir outlets to open nearer to me so I can get my fix of fried chicken more often.

Overall, I will give it another try once again perhaps not when they are "about the close"? Rather disappointing on our first, perhaps it is one of those days. I will not penalise them immediately because their food is actually not bad. Also, note that their food is Halal. I've confirmed with the wait staff but unsure they are certified Halal. They kitchen staffs looks Malay too, just in case you're still worried about the certification. It's good for everyone.

Verdict: 1. Be prepared for spending at least RM50 per pax, but the food and experience here are totally worth every penny spent. 2. Excellent food quality and taste although the menu may be quite limited for some. 3. The search is over, I can have my most favourite cheesecake here! The Cheesecake is the No.1 must-try item here. Will definitely be back for more, but it’d be even better if I can have a whole cake for my birthday!

People are talking about this cheesecake on the Internet and they even give it a title, which is "The Legendary Cheesecake". Why is it legendary, you ask? Well, I guess it's mostly because of its cheesy, moistly texture and with a sweet touch of whipped cream on top. After hearing all these raves about it from my friends and other people, I decided to find it out myself, which I did, and I totally agreed to the "Legendary Cheesecake" title. If you're a cheesecake lover, this has to be in your bucket list. Plus, it's hardly to find it anywhere else in Malaysia, except here. Why not just give it a try? Where can you find it? You can find it in The Tokyo Restaurant, which is located on the 5th floor of ISETAN The Japan Store!

Explanation from wiki online: "Poke (Hawaiian for "to section" or "to slice or cut") is a raw fish salad served as an appetizer in Hawaiian cuisine, and sometimes as a main course". In recent years, some restaurants in USA have started making poke bowls which includes rice or some other healthy options like quinoa or cous cous and the trend has reached here. In the poke bowl above, there are tiny cubes of raw salmon marinated in a slightly spicy sauce, slices of cucumbers, guacamole, calrose rice, furikake, bits of seaweeds, sesame seeds, ebiko mixed with some sort of vinegar so it is very flavourful with lots of different tastes going on at the same time.

Anyone up for something more wholesome or suitable for solo dining can go for udon or rice bowls. Gyudon + Onsen Tamago (RM 17.90) uses prime Australian beef slices but I don’t think it should be the reason to visit. Even the usually appealing Salmon Ikura Don (RM 23.90) were underpinned by excellent cut of sashimi earlier.

It depends if you love to have it in poached eggs, scrambled eggs or omelette. We personally enjoyed Single Poached Egg, Ratatouille, Fresh Basil, Parmesan on Sourdough Toast (RM20), as well as Sauteed Tiger Prawns, Two Onsen Style Poached Eggs in Glass with Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Mixed Cress, Multigrain Bread Stick (RM30) – a dish that has got us impressed since our first visit, and still equally delicious till today. I love Porcini. Tasty, low in calories and awesome source of protein, potassium, zinc, selenium and Vitamin B. A yummy lunch at Villa Danieli last week was a nutritious Porcini affair from the start till the end. Totally delish and honestly, I would love to return again before the Porcini promotion ends on 31 October 2016. The menu is pretty straight forward. Available for lunch and dinner with vegetarian options too! Service is always prompt and friendly at Villa Danieli. Ran through the menu, made our pick, sat back to enjoy my choice of wine and nibbled on the breads. As usual, my advise is to go easy on the breads because they are really delicious and filling.

It would seem that the quality and freshness of some of their products (like uni and ikura) weren't as good as they once were or at least not as good as what I had before. To think that I paid RM100 (after taxes) for a spoonful of crappy tasting uni was heartbreaking. Luckily, the quality and taste of the unagi was very satisfying indeed...and so was the price as a generous portion like this can easily cost RM60 (or more) at other places. The only blip was the less than stellar live uni (I must remember to never go for uni that seems insanely cheap!). If unagi is a favourite of yours (as they were ours), don't miss this opportunity to sink your teeth into some good and very reasonably priced unagi. You still have time to savour this as the promotion is available until the end of June. Although this is a Japanese restaurant abundant with lots of very premium (and expensive) seafood, you can have a meal here (this time) that won't hurt your pocket too much if you stick to the unagi promotion and resist the temptation of the other menu offerings. If you come away with eating just the unagi and nothing else, you'll still come away feeling very contented.
