If you are not sure what to order every time you walk into a restaurant(which happens to me most of the time), it's always a good idea to just go with the Omakase & Osusume menu. Omakase & Osusume have more or less the same meaning. Omakase = Up to you ; Osusume = Recommended. The new Osusume menu starts at RM80 onwards and is available for dinner only. The new dessert menu starts at RM45 onwards and is available from 4 August 2017 to 2 September 2017.

Burger & Lobster Malaysia Restaurant

Level 1, SkyAvenue, Resorts World Genting 69000 Pahang Malaysia

Head over to Burger & Lobster at SkyAvenue to meet live lobsters from Nova Scotia, transported from the deep Atlantic waters to your table 6,000 feet in the hills. At the London restaurant’s first outlet in Southeast Asia, Burger & Lobster serves what they proudly know from years of research and development – The Lobsters (lobsters steamed, grilled, or in a chilli sauce), The Lobster Rolls (classic, Seven Samurai, or The Chilli) and The Burgers (made from supreme halal-grade beef from Stanbroke, Australia, to produce the best texture and flavour). The signature dish at its outlet in Resorts World Genting is the Chilli Lobster which is served in a claypot with brioche. Lobsters are kept in a custom-made seawater system where they are carefully monitored to ensure optimal conditions at all times. From Canada to Resorts World Genting, they remain plump, juicy, and in top form. The menu in Malaysia shares a theme identical to Burger & Lobster in London, with variations specially designed for Resorts World Genting. Its unique location on high altitude calls for special attention to kitchen operations, but the chefs are more than equal to the challenge. Everything at Burger & Lobster boils down to this: a flaming passion to live up to its name. So put on your lobster bib and tuck in!

Inspired by the Chong Qing-Grilled Fish, Fatt Kee Roast Fish has recently gained a lot of attention from netizens due to its gigantic serving with loads of Seafood swimming in the huge pot. The concept is not new- Deep Fried Fish with Seafood (like Prawns, Squid, Flower Clams) and vegetables soaked in a spicy-savory Seafood broth; served in the way similar to Hot Pot/ Steamboat. The spiciness varies and can be tuned accordingly but the heat-intolerant should be extra careful on selecting the spiciness as it can be lip-burning hot. It can be then enjoyed just like an ordinary Hot Pot, with extra condiments like Udon, Vegetables and Seafood to be added. Do note that there are two branches and both locations are near to each other; one is air-conditioned while another one is al-fresco setting. The flavors were fun and the combination was exciting, a place worth visiting.

There's nothing I like more than dining in a place that's serene and beautiful as food always tastes better when you're in the right mood and feeling relaxed! ;) You can't go wrong with pizzas or salads here...you may even want to give their unique take on laksa a try. Though I felt that desserts may not be their forte (in a place that's focussed on food rather than desserts), they were able to hold their own and proved respectable...just don't compare them with speciality dessert houses or artisan bakeries (it wouldn't be fair to) and you should still come away with your sweet cravings satisfied.

The reviews I read on their Facebook Page seem pretty mixed of late with complaints of either the long wait for a table, the service or they didn't fancy the type of food served. As far as the food was concerned, I had no complaints on the two we tried that morning. Not only did it taste good, it was beautifully plated as well. In fact, their version of french toast is the best version I've had so far. I actually liked that their menu is a bit more creative than the usual cafe food we get elsewhere but if you're looking for some variation of a big breakfast, you won't find it here. So, patrons looking for the standard breakfast fare of bacon, ham, sausages and eggs done any way, let me forewarn you that you might be up for some disappointment. Our half an hour wait, during peak brunch hours on a public holiday, was more than acceptable for a place like this with so much awareness. Due to the crowd, even the owner cum chef helped cleared tables and served us, so I'm pleased with the service. When we left a little over an hour later, there was still a perpetual queue (but none at the other eateries). So, what does that tell you about its popularity...or their food? ;) Personally, I would return in a heartbeat. I would so love to try more of their food...and eat that french toast again! ^o^

Chir Chir Fusion Chicken Factory has really nailed their chicken dishes to near perfectness. Prices are on the higher end but that’s justifiable for the quality and portion they served. All of their dishes we tried is larger in portion than a lot of places and feeds at least 2 to 3 people. Go for their chicken dishes because they do those really well and their drinks are very good too. Now I am wishing for more Chir Chir outlets to open nearer to me so I can get my fix of fried chicken more often.

Sapore is an Italian, Spanish-Mediterranean Restaurant located at Ampang, the neighbouring city at KL. Sapore means flavours in Italian. At Sapore, we held an interesting slogan – “Serving you Artisan Food and Fine Wine”, simply because we highlight the authentic taste of Italian and Spanish food. What is “flavours” in Italian? SAPORE, of course and it’s an apt name for a restaurant that celebrates the authentic flavours of not only Italian food but also Spanish-Mediterranean favourites. Located in a quiet suburb in Ampang, Sapore Restaurant is the quintessential neighbourhood eatery that beckons with delicious comfort food and a relaxing place to just chill out with artisanal food and fine wines.

What is the speciality at Sapore? Sapore doesn't serve you the typical pizza or pasta, or the normal tapas that you can get elsewhere. Their main specialities are their imported quality Jamon Iberico, small yet delicious Spanish Tapas, and great choices of wine. Sapore assure you that every bite is savoury and satisfying, every drink is intoxicating. Don’t miss out what their have for you – Cold Cut Charcuterie, Antipasti Tagliere, various cheese selection, hot and cold tapas, the classic Italian Bruschetta bread, fine wine, cocktails, beers and much more at your delight. Believe me!!!

What a strange name, I thought to myself, immediately associating the word with turkeys, who purportedly go gobble gobble by way of speech. Whilst I've said time and again, I am not a buffet fan, (at my age, one has to very selective of what one consumes, and every bite must be worth the calories, so excuse me if I sound fussy), I was quite intrigued by the fact that the buffet is only RM80 nett, for the promotional months presumably celebrating the nation's birthdays. (two birthdays, one on 31st August, freedom from the shackles of the British imperialists, and 16th September again, Malaysia day). Anway, the promotion goes runs from 1st August to 30th September, and is available Thursdays to Saturdays. The good news for winos is, that for RM66 nett extra, you can opt for free flow house wine. Sounds like a dietary disaster to me, free flow food and wine.

Come one, come all, let's gobble and guzzle at TEMPTationS lunch or dinner buffet without burning a hole in your pocket. In addition to the awesome promotion, diners can also complement their meals with 2 hours free flow of wine at RM66nett per person or 2 hours free flow of soft drinks at RM22nett per person plus complimentary car park at the hotel basement.

Very very crowded in the Sunday morning around 10pm. Strangely, eat in is definitely faster than takeaway (1h waiting time serve around 20 take away customers maybe). The nasi is alright, it's more famous for the fried chicken. It's good, but not worth 1 hour waiting time.

Nasi lemak is undoubtedly one of my favorite Malaysian dishes. For me, a great plate of nasi lemak should consist of rich, fragrant rice, sweet-spicy sambal and crispy, juicy fried chicken. Village Park Restaurant is often touted as having the "best nasi lemak in town". During our staycation at Somerset Damansara Uptown, we ensured that we explored the eateries around the area and made it a point to come here.

Expect to pay top dollar here as the prices are on the high side when compared to what most cafes offer with a breakfast dish costing north of RM30 and some even more than RM50. Plus it didn't help when prices increased between RM2 - RM10 for most of their dishes and drinks (when comparing the prices I paid from the ones I saw on a blog 3 months ago). Probably because of the high prices, I think many come with higher-than-usual expectations hoping to be wowed by the food. So, my suggestion would be to keep your expectations in check when you dine here so that you won't be gravely disappointed. For me, the food was decent...maybe not wow (for the prices charged) but, if I judge the components separately, they certainly do compensate with the use of top-notch ingredients, generous portions and competently prepared food. And yes, I can see myself returning...but probably sparingly because of the prices. And next time, I'll choose a lighter option (if I'm dining alone) or make sure I bring a plus one to share a heftier dish! ^_*

Their wood-fired Big Bonfire Platter is the way to go (plus it's really a good deal)....with 6 choices of meat/seafood to choose from, you're bound to find something you like. Pair that with a choice of 6 sides and you'll have yourself a truly wonderful meal. But if your eating party is sizeable, best to make reservations ahead of time, lest you end up with al fresco seating which was actually alright except that we had to contend with a smoker (just one) during our meal. But we also got to enjoy 'free' live music from next door (Nicsmann)...hey! ;) On hindsight, we were glad we were seated at the al fresco area coz, when we left, we walked through the restaurant and felt the ventilation could be better inside (I know it's difficult to do when you're fanning the flames of wood-fired cooking....haha) ;D Prices may seem high at first glance but we paid around RM100 per adult for a meal (inclusive of a bottle of red) that fed 4 adults and 3 kids to the brim, so I think that was pretty reasonable. If you're hungry (or greedy) for some succulent charred meat (or seafood), you know where to go when you're in this mall. Bonfire can sure cook up a storm! ^.^

In the past, it has been picked by Tan Hsueh Yun, food editor at SPH, as the best tasting Korean Fried Chicken in Singapore from a blind tasting challenge conducted by RazorTV. In this challenge, the editor was asked to try 8 different Korean Fried Chicken (KFC) recipes from 8 different stores in Singapore while she was blindfolded. After describing each of the 8 chicken dish, she was made to choose which one is the BEST, and has picked CHICKEN UP as the Best Korean Fried Chicken! And now, this loved by many Korean chains has arrived onshore at Subang Jaya, to be much nearer to Klang Valley folks here.
