If you are not sure what to order every time you walk into a restaurant(which happens to me most of the time), it's always a good idea to just go with the Omakase & Osusume menu. Omakase & Osusume have more or less the same meaning. Omakase = Up to you ; Osusume = Recommended. The new Osusume menu starts at RM80 onwards and is available for dinner only. The new dessert menu starts at RM45 onwards and is available from 4 August 2017 to 2 September 2017.

Ever since my friends and I dropped in at Two Ox years ago, just as they were about to close the kitchen, and the maitre d very obligingly hailed the staff back just to serve us dessert, I've always felt I needed to return to the place and have a proper meal, and well, actually, technically I still haven't, and feel duty bound to return pretty soon. However, I was fortunate enough to be invited to join fellow bloggers Brought Up To Share at a recent review (hence, technically I haven't really been back as a customer). Inspired by the Chong Qing-Grilled Fish, Fatt Kee Roast Fish has recently gained a lot of attention from netizens due to its gigantic serving with loads of Seafood swimming in the huge pot. The concept is not new- Deep Fried Fish with Seafood (like Prawns, Squid, Flower Clams) and vegetables soaked in a spicy-savory Seafood broth; served in the way similar to Hot Pot/ Steamboat. The spiciness varies and can be tuned accordingly but the heat-intolerant should be extra careful on selecting the spiciness as it can be lip-burning hot. It can be then enjoyed just like an ordinary Hot Pot, with extra condiments like Udon, Vegetables and Seafood to be added. Do note that there are two branches and both locations are near to each other; one is air-conditioned while another one is al-fresco setting. The flavors were fun and the combination was exciting, a place worth visiting.

Burger & Lobster Malaysia Restaurant

Level 1, SkyAvenue, Resorts World Genting 69000 Pahang Malaysia

Head over to Burger & Lobster at SkyAvenue to meet live lobsters from Nova Scotia, transported from the deep Atlantic waters to your table 6,000 feet in the hills. At the London restaurant’s first outlet in Southeast Asia, Burger & Lobster serves what they proudly know from years of research and development – The Lobsters (lobsters steamed, grilled, or in a chilli sauce), The Lobster Rolls (classic, Seven Samurai, or The Chilli) and The Burgers (made from supreme halal-grade beef from Stanbroke, Australia, to produce the best texture and flavour). The signature dish at its outlet in Resorts World Genting is the Chilli Lobster which is served in a claypot with brioche. Lobsters are kept in a custom-made seawater system where they are carefully monitored to ensure optimal conditions at all times. From Canada to Resorts World Genting, they remain plump, juicy, and in top form. The menu in Malaysia shares a theme identical to Burger & Lobster in London, with variations specially designed for Resorts World Genting. Its unique location on high altitude calls for special attention to kitchen operations, but the chefs are more than equal to the challenge. Everything at Burger & Lobster boils down to this: a flaming passion to live up to its name. So put on your lobster bib and tuck in!

I had the Dry Wanton Mee with char siew and wantan (RM7.20). I liked the texture and taste of the noodles - very yummy. The BBQ pork (char siew) is also pretty good, slightly lean with a nice caramalised glaze. Since we liked the noodles, so we ordered another plate later - dry wanton mee with char siew (RM7) for sharing.

Gruyere cheese souffle in cast iron pan, served with walnut, raisin, petite salad & truffle dressing. Twice baked so you get a thin, lightly crisp top layer contrasting by jiggly fluffy, cotton soft cheesy souffle beneath. We love this so much! Highly recommended real good stuff!

There's nothing I like more than dining in a place that's serene and beautiful as food always tastes better when you're in the right mood and feeling relaxed! ;) You can't go wrong with pizzas or salads here...you may even want to give their unique take on laksa a try. Though I felt that desserts may not be their forte (in a place that's focussed on food rather than desserts), they were able to hold their own and proved respectable...just don't compare them with speciality dessert houses or artisan bakeries (it wouldn't be fair to) and you should still come away with your sweet cravings satisfied.

Finally got a chance to taste the dinner rice meal at The Owl. The risotto mushroom is pretty good. The special iced coffee comes with a scoop of ice cream, which is nice. The curry cream pasta is a bit dry this time with less sauce. I think the mild version taste better than spicy as it is more balanced. And then, I thought it's best to separate them to make it fair for both cafes, so none of them can steal each other's spotlights. I supposed. I once read a comment by a reader of eatdrinkkl and couldn't agree with him more...that we all get caught up with trying new places (I have to since I'm writing a food blog) and, more often than not, we get disappointed with these new outlets and would return to our regular 'tried and tested' outlets that we know will not disappoint....and that for me is a meal at Ra.Ft's :) Consistency is something that's extremely difficult to maintain and Ra.Ft has not let me down...their consistency in cooking, taste and presentation deserves a pat on the back. And the good news is...they've recently launched their Ra-Ft Loyalty Card to reward their loyal customers. But let me share yet another piece of happy news.....a new outlet is in the works...and it's coming to....(ooo, let it be a surprise!) ^_*
