Botanico is housed at the two storey 1920s art deco conservation building now known as The Garage.
Other than National Orchid Garden and Swan Lake, do check out Jacob Ballas Children Garden (with water play area) and Food for Thought (with a small outdoor playground) at Singapore Botanic Gardens too!
Situated at the heart of the city of Singapore, the site demonstrates the evolution of a British tropical colonial botanic garden that has become a modern world-class scientific institution used for both conservation and education. The cultural landscape includes a rich variety of historic features, plantings and buildings that demonstrate the development of the garden since its creation in 1859. It has been an important centre for science, research and plant conservation, notably in connection with the cultivation of rubber plantations, in Southeast Asia since 1875.
Botanico and Bee's Knees have definitely taken modern SEA cooking to the next level and I found myself surprised at every bite.
Beyond the inventive cafe dishes on the menu, another reason to visit Bee’s Knees is the atmosphere.
I like that the truffle carbonara has arugula leaves on it so that the bitterness can undercut the heaviness.
Each dish looks small but we were quite full by the time the kaya toast dessert was served.
The CORNER HOUSE is a two-storey Black and White bungalow built in 1910.
Overall, Corner House deserves its Michelin Star and recognition.
At my age, I have attended quite a number of Chinese weddings which typically feature round tables that can sit ten persons at a hotel ballr...
Her creations now reflect a greater nuance and finesse with a new focus on South East Asian flavours.
I thought it was a pity that the food didn't quite work out.
so 2pax dinner very good standard dishes for S$53 nett. boleh la!
They also provide corporate catering menus like buffets, seminars and meetings, daily packed meals and cafeteria food services.
ambience was great. relax and food was great.
KARA Cafe & Dessert Bar is an upscale independent café serving eclectic ‘all-day dining’ hearty comfort food.
The highlight is their homemade Mochi Waffles with Froyo.
Nice soothing decor with botanical impressions on the walls, taking inspiration from the UNESCO World Heritage awarded Singapore Botanic Gardens.
I reckon it’s worth a visit if you live nearby or want to avoid the crowds at popular, central areas!
I was blown away by Elixir Boutique Roasters’ Brûlée French Toast and can’t wait to be back for more of it.
Overall, Elixir Boutique Roasters cafe is a good place for a cuppa and some food - though pricing can be adjusted downwards for their brunch items, they do a mean rendang and scrambled eggs.
Overall, it was definitely a memorable experience.
Save to say, Fat Belly gets my votes for the value for money steakhouse in Singapore.
The cozy ambience, personalised service, and great quality food done to order, make Fat Belly a must-return dining destination for me. Will be back for more!
Quality of food and service still remain pleasant since my first visit many years back with friends.
My favorite of the lot, was the Japanese Sweet Potato Mini Loaf. When its stated as mini, it really was!
Other than pastries, Crown Bakery & Cafe also serves several Breakfast, Brunch and Mains, along with an extensive menu of drinks.
Affogato Bar is a tiny cafe in Cluny Court, the small shopping arcade across the Botanic Garden MRT station.
Words and photos by Belinda Yong who wishes that every time of the day is food o' clock. She loves trying new cuisines and creations, and prays hard for a higher metabolism.
With The Affogato Bar offering a rather different menu NAHMJ thought it offered an invigorating vibe to the Singapore cafe scene.
Next time, I shall also go for their mee rebus which is very popular too.
Making Atlas Coffeehouse my cafe regular spot in Bukit Timah. You should too.
Overall, the vibes at this cafe scream “hipster with a touch of comfortable charm”. While the exterior of the cafe is plain and fairly nondescript, once you step into this fully air-conditioned cafe, you will be transported to a softly-lit, artfully-minimalistic universe filled with subdued colours and a buzzing atmosphere. Perfect for a weekend brunch.
Fans of Assembly Coffee were certainly not underwhelmed by their new venture, Atlas Coffeehouse.
4 reviews of Cluny Court "The expat in me loves Cluny Court. It's a bummer I don't stay near Bukit Timah, and the last time I was there I was running errands with no time to browse. But I want to go back to there so bad! It's a small mall, but…
Relish by Wild Rocket at Cluny Court in Bukit Timah is one of our favourite places to eat around that area.
Relish @ Cluny Court is a pleasant, laid back place away from the usual busy places in Singapore.
A change-up from the usual fries - its sweet potato cousin option sided by a curried mayo dip. This was incredibly well done. A lovely crunch, and that curried mayo was quite the brilliant pairing.
The drip coffee uses Colombian beans and is smooth and not at all bitter. Fantastic.
With each loaf beautifully handcrafted with love, this is the place you should add to your list for good quality toasts and coffee.
The sourdough is extremely HARD but the toppings on top is delicious!!! The Hummus Za'atar EVOO toast is so good.
That’s enough reason for us to recommend you to make your way down for a casual afternoon hangout or a quick bite before work.
Coffee beans are currently sourced from Common Man Coffee Roasters
Despite being a new team at the helm, service is still sincere; one can certainly feel the hospitality from their heart, and the passion in perfecting their craft through the bakes that are being made in-house.
Prairie by Craftsmen is a new cafe & restaurant at Cluny Court near Botanic Gardens which has an outdoor alfresco dine-in concept, serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
It came in just the right portion and was seasoned nicely, making it nice to eat with a glass of suds.
I'm eager to come back to try more, especially since the prices are reasonable too.
The simple, traditional dishes at The Curry Wok is something I will be back for, especially when I am yearning for some comfort food.
Fish Head Curry which was fragrant and packed with flavors. Would love to have some bread to mop up the curry sauce.
