Bukit Gasing (Gasing Hill) Forest Reserve is a 100 hectare of greenery at the border of Petaling Jaya and Kuala Lumpur, one of the most popular hiking spots ...
On this day, I will guide you through a loop of trail that will reach all the highlights people usually want to see in Bukit Gasing, including the wooden platform, suspension bridge, killer stairs, abandoned houses, park area, steel bridge, and the telecommunication tower. This will be a fairly easy trail at the start, a little tiring at the Killer Stairs, and slightly more challenging hiking up to the tower/temple.
Help yourself with their deliciously packed of goodness Botanica Laksa. This is one of my favorite, for sure! One can enjoy the awesome kick of spiciness with the aromatic blend of chili. The Laksa broth is cooked with flower crabs, seafood, laksa pesto & special chilli paste and then it is topped with the tiger prawn, poached chicken, julienned fish cake, silver sprouts & quail egg. Such a slurpilicious dish to have.
Botanica + Co,已经帮衬N次,依然真心地觉得值得推荐,几乎可以讲话价廉物美,超级无敌赞
♥Verdict: Overall, my dining experience at this much loved garden-inspired restaurant was not impressive. The Instragram-worthy interior was unquestionably scored high marks, service was okay despite the large crowd but the food did not meet my expectation (in terms of taste, portion and price).
The Avocado Spread was simply delicious. They did the Egg benedict very well, without being too rubbery and thick. The bread was also just nice, crispy only at the sides. I preferred this bread than the typical hard muffins. It was my first time eating this item, and was so well worth it for the package price.
这只是一个平日的上午, Pokok KL Cafe @ Mahsa Avenue生意看起来不错呢!
Overall, we had a lovely, satisfying brunch, with just the right amount of Instaworthy photoshooting.
A more than satisfactory meal at "Jam & Kaya" today. Will be back soon for another Pancake brunch, maybe the next visit will be for the the Cafe's 2 other Signature offerings which are the sweet "Jam & Kaya's Pancake" and the "Hot Chocolate with Choco Balls"!
We like that the kaya and fruity jam were not overtly sweet. In fact, the kaya jam has a lighter green hue as they are made from freshly made pandan. The strawberries were not sour too – which is a plus in our books. We literally demolished the pancake stack in 5 minutes!
总而言之,Jam&Kaya有可能成为公司的最爱,超越其相对隐蔽的位置并避免提前宣传。
I prefer the steam chicken, its definitely tender, very nice soya sauce and chili sauce to get with it.
Verdict: The chicken rice was above average, compared with the previous chicken rice I’ve posted recently, this undoubtedly fared better. Restoran Satellite definitely more than a decent place for poached chicken rice but there was one thing that really annoyed me that day. Dining with music/songs played at the background certainly can elevate the dining mood but not with earsplitting volume which was really disturbing and a totally put off for me.
Every year, we will go to Ipoh and so excited to try Ipoh Food. Some of the Ipoh food from Ipoh Famous Chicken Rice Chains are a huge disappointment. They can’t even serve a decent chicken rice. This Satellite Restaurant Chicken Rice and 1977 Ipoh Chicken Rice are way much better than those shop.
Our favourite goes to Nasi Ulam. Mixed chilled rice with crunchy local herbs, served with roasted beef or roasted chicken accompanied with coconut milk, spicy gravy, sambal kelapa, sambal chili, fish cracker, salted egg and ginger pickles. Best to have a bit of everything and tuck in in one spoonful.
Top on the list of Genji’s Winter Specials and Signature Dishes menu is the air-flown Wagyu beef. With its rich tender buttery melt-in-mouth texture, thanks to the heavy marbling, wagyu is best savoured grilled lightly or dipped into shabu-shabu. Swirling the wagyu for just a few seconds in a bubbling umami broth is the best way to enjoy the beef. We definitely didn’t stop at one slice! The Shabu-shabu wagyu (marble 10) is at RM380
Every Saturday and Sunday, Paya Serai in Hilton Petaling Jaya presents their ever popular Weekend Hi-Tea Buffet featuring over 40 delectable teatime delights. Another must-try is the Blueberry Cheese, which has a mild, subtle cheesy flavour in the centre, as well as the Pomegranate Raisin, which is tangy and fruity. The best part is that they’re not too sweet!
The Jade Rabbit Premium Series One of the must to enjoy is their latest creation and the signature box which comes with the intricate laser-cut wood finishing, featuring two adorable rabbits, against a night background with a glowing full moon. This collectible is available in two colours, blue and pink (box of 4) and peach (box of 2). And they are priced at RM 118nett for a box of 4 pieces | RM 68nett for a box of 2 pieces
This enchanting Deluxe Twin is available from MYR 240 per night. To include breakfast buffet, simply add on another MYR20 per pax to complete your morning stay wholesomely!
This "Cabin-like" Cafe with lots of glass windows and greens as well.
Prawn vs Cereal Pasta, 23.90. The pasta was simple yet delicious. It basically consisted of stir fried prawns, olive oil spaghetti and cereal. The small prawns were a bit of a let down because this is the kind of dish that could really do with some large prawns. It kindda just goes without saying. As for the cereal, I wish they could add a lil more to the dish as oppose to it just being a ‘garnish’. The little bit that I did have though worked really well with the pasta and prawns, it certainly complemented the dish well. I like this dish.
Food: 4.5/5 Seasoning is nicely done Environment: 4/5 The little cabin decoration can be improved Price: 4.2/5 Price is reasonable compared to others cafe Service: 4/5
We love the Poon Choy for its deep and robust flavours from braising abalones, prawns, scallops, clams, sea cucumber, roast duck and other flavourful ingredients. This Treasure Pot is available for dine-in and take-away at RM488+ and diners get to keep the pretty claypot too!
As a prelude to the Chinese New Year festivities, from 17th till 23rd January 2020, Utara will be featuring a Pre Chinese New Year Reunion Buffet Dinner. Priced at MYR 80+ per adult, MYR 60+ for senior citizens and RM40+ per child, the buffet will feature a wide variety of symbolic dishes of prosperity, good luck and abundance that are harmoniously fused among local, Western, Japanese and Indian cuisines.
While Utara may have undergone a complete makeover, the restaurant still retains its signature flavours and will continue so as an ode to their loyal diners. Utara’s exceptional local cuisine such as the Nasi Lemak Utara, Roti Durian, Kari Kepala Ikan, Daging Masak Assam Pedas, Siput Sedut Masak Cili Padi and Ketam Masak Berlada to name a few are what sets Utara apart from competitors in the area.
The Fried Kway Teow is pretty popular, 20 minutes wait time on weekdays before 12PM. Taste wise is slightly above average, noodle a bit soft, and quite some ingredients. The popiah is huge, taste..
I'd say its an above average Wan Ton Mee.
A small serving Char Kuey Teow cost RM6 while the large one is RM7. The large Char Kuey Teow here is fairly big and can be quite filling even if you are a big eater. The Kuey Teow noodles were moist and loose with an amazing “wok hei” flavours which you can smell and taste. The grumpy uncle was indeed skilful in controlling the heat and wok which made the noodles charred but not burnt surface with a strong smoky aroma.
Overall, the food of Hilton Petaling Jaya Christmas Festive Buffet is pretty decent. The seafood is good as well as the meat selections. As mentioned the desserts are impressive. Since I have not been here for so long, they have refurbished Paya Serai and it looks spanking new!
Overall, we have a pleasant stay at Hilton Petaling Jaya. Nice room at affordable rate, staffs are friendly and helpful.
Parking was easy at 8am this morning, beware of parking without coupon as MBPJ officers make their roundings ar random hors daily as seen today issuing parking summons at 3pm today.
My lunch order - seabass rice bowl at MYR 19 nett. One of the 3 rice bowls from the set lunch menu. The other rice bowls are vegetarian rice bowl and chicken rice bowl. The seabass fish (siakap) is fresh but they put a bit too much soy sauce deep fried garlic on top of the fish as garnishing so it is a bit on the salty side but overall, apart from the saltiness, this dish is tasty with the sugar snap peas and mushrooms.
Cake spread is quite a delight; making this quite the lovely place for sweet tooth. Caffeine beverages were fairly decent. I took a sip of the Matcha Latte and reminded myself that not all matcha are meant to not go wrong. At least this one is an exceptional.
Overall, we were very pleased with our meal. Max is happy to report that the duck rice still tasted good after so many years, and this was a wonderful discovery for Ming.
I will definitely put more effort in hunting them down.
In the evening, Kam Heong Coffee Shop in PJ New Town serves Teo Chew style braised duck and pork trotters but in the afternoon, it has a few stalls that sell noodles and roast meat with rice. We were there one afternoon for lunch and these are the food we ate:
the venerable raju banana leaf rice, but in this video we had breakfast instead.. tosai. From old review - http://kyspeaks.com/2008/06/23/ky-eats-banana-leaf-...
Banana Leaf Rice was good; my pick will be their Cabbage and Cauliflower. YUM!! Banana Leaf Rice @ RM 7
Breakfast at one of the most popular spots in Petaling Jaya; Raju has been a roti canai stalwart for years now along Jalan Gasing. Raju is also a popular spot
Apa apa pun, sesiapa yang nak mencari Nasi Kandar Melayu yang enak dan lazat. Boleh try makan di sini.
I loved this authentic Penang's Nasi Kandar, just mixed them all up - rice with the spicy, flavoursome and thick gravies to send you to seventh heaven. If you're a big eater, can opt for NASI AYAM BESAR for RM 8.50 but seriously the NASI AYAM KECIL for RM 6 is a huge portion indeed ~ very generous if compared to many others stalls.
This particular plate of Nasi Kandar cost RM8.50 as we opted for the bigger chicken. It is certainly not overpriced compared to Kok Siong or any chain Nasi Kandar as the chicken we had was huge. The curries were the best part as it was spicy, thick and flavoursome. The spiciness were indeed unique, nothing like what you’d find in random mamak stalls. The fried chicken was super crispy yet moist and tender on the inside. It is one of the must try when you dine in Zainul Nasi Kandar. The fried chicken we had was really fresh, you can clearly see steam being released when you rip into it.
I really enjoyed my dining experience while savouring my delicious authentic Indian rice. UMAC House is actually a bungalow located in the old government quarters. Nestled within the busy urban town of Petaling Jaya, along Jalan University, it's lovely restaurant to eat, relax, chill for while or destress while sipping a cup of teh tarik or ice lemon tea.
So, this was what I ordered. Basic banana leaf comes with rice + 4 standard selection of vegetables + 2 papadums for a price of 6 ringgit. I added on chicken varuval, 6 ringgit – which lead to a total sum of 12 Ringgit. My friend who accompanied me for the day, also decided to eat banana leaf rice – 6 ringgit + fried banana chips, 3 ringgit + sura puttu (shark fish scramble), 8 ringgit = 17 ringgit. A delicious, wholesome meal for 12 ringgit and 17 ringgit? I’ve got no complains.
Verdict: Prices here are fair, works out to be around RM16 per person. Food is OK, could be better. Nice ambiance and ample parking space.
San Nae Deul has been in town for several years now but recently have been gaining popularity with their Lunch and Dinner Buffet deals.
San Nae Deul Bangsar is a recommended place to fix your craving for Korean foods!
