Overall, one gets a very relaxing vibe in the cafe. It's a great spot to chill and catch up in the east.
BeBe’s undetermined birthday @ Shao on Frankel Avenue was wonderful fun, and a wonderful meal. So family oriented and friendly - staff amazing with food so masterful and delicious - must try on East Coast!!!
Shao BBQ Restaurant on Frankel Avenue is a new place from a top Chef, Jack Ding. Coming from UK where he studied and set 1st restaurant up - incredible.
Service at Dutch Colony Coffee Co. is partially self-service, though staff will helpfully brief you on using the online ordering platform with its digital menu. Orders are fulfilled with a short wait, and staff introduce the dish as they serve.

Wine Connection’s new concept of a cheese bar accompanied by a bottle shop. New menus launched so a good time to visit Frankel Avenue
Those in the East might already be familiar with 6 Letter Coffee at Tanjong Katong, which has been around for a few years now. Meet their newest venture called 6 Letter Brunch, which they’ve opened at Siglap’s Frankel Avenue.
I will be back at Shao to try other dishes and will have encores of the Marinated Chilled Roe Crab, Oyster Porridge with Sotong Sausage and Luffa Pancake.
To my surprise, the crab arrived hot. And the unagi sauce was not the thick sweet stuff that one usually associates with unagi (or if it was, they barely applied any). That's a really good thing, since the crab itself was awesome with its generous abundance of rich and creamy yellow roe; the last thing I'd want is for some sweet sauce to cover it up. The savory taste of the crab meat and tomalley were very pronounced, to my delight.
I'd really like to try their marinated crab too, if only I can plan far enough ahead to order it in advance.
