Originated from Seoul, Chir Chir (치르치르) is the largest fried chicken chain in Korea with over 100 stores in China, Taiwan, Indonesia, Singapore, and Malaysia.
Honey Butter Chicken (RM24.90) A highly addictive dish which I agree with crispy boneless fried chicken chucks with potato wedges and rice cakes, tossed with honey butter sauce and seasoning.
Started with this Rose Cheese Chiqueen, a cheesy chicken platter that’s going to become cheese lovers’ new favourite! Fried chicken tenders stacked over a bed of fondue cheese, topped with chunky potato wedges and cherry tomatoes, further heaped with mozzarella sauce.
Verdict: The food here probably cost higher than the usual fried chicken joint but rest assured, once you devour the fresh chicken, you’d know they’re worth it. Portion is big as well to justify the money spent. I’m planning to go back for the Curry Fried Chicken, anyone joining me?
To get the ball rolling, we were treated to the latest Curry Fried Chicken dish. Wah, I loved this chicken dish to the max. Brought to the table smelling so deliciously aromatic with the curry spices and herbs seasoning, I just can't wait to sink my teeth into this dish. Wonderfully juicy and fragrant, with the sweet and spicy flavours waking up our taste buds upon the first bite. Soft succulence, though not as spicy as local version, this one still packs loads of punchy spicy notes.
Next is the Spicy BBQ roasted chicken (RM 32.90 or RM 59.90 for double portion)- the oven roasted chicken with spicy BBQ sauce, an egg, alongside baked potato and sour cream. Sticky, gooey, and if I must say this, a glorious mess on your fingers when eating with hands, and just the right kick of spicy BBQ, this is quite a crowd pleaser. But order the Mac and Cheese (RM 16.90 or RM 30.90 for double portion) to go with this spicy bite of BBQ chicken.
Verdict: 1. If you are looking for a Korean fried chicken meal with an interesting local twist, then Chir Chir is the place to go with your friends and family. 2. Reasons to visit: Sizeable portion, locally-suited flavours, fresh and good quality ingredients 3. Must try: Curry Fried Chicken, Spicy Chi-bap
For those in with the popular Korean "Chimaek" culture, you can enjoy Chir Chir's new Curry Fried Chicken (RM30.90 / RM56.90 for double portion) with an icy cold beer. Fresh chicken is coated with the signature batter, deep fried and then sprinkled with generous amounts of addictive curry seasoning. Absolutely delicious, we couldn't get enough of this crispy chicken!
Chir Chir is located in Pavilion Elite, same floor as the supermarket in Pavilion. KFC is opposite it diagonally.
The chain’s focus on great taste, value and service has allowed it to grow into one of the largest "Chimaek" franchises in South Korea with over 100 stores and new store openings in China and Taiwan.
