Koung’s Wan Tan Mee Geylang is perhaps regarded by most locals as the epicentre of Singapore’s flesh trade - dirty spas, seedy broth...
Selling the Wanton Mee from pushcart in the beginning to its first outlet at Geylang and now a second outlet by their 2nd generation, that’s a total of 56 years.
The noodle used is thicker than the usual mee kia. There is a springy bite to it and the body picks up the tossing sauce pretty well.
I was pleasantly surprised by the thick consistency of the desserts, in comparison to the usual watered-down versions I have gotten elsewhere.
This new outlet will start operations on 25 August 2020 at basement one in Jem. Be sure to head down and grab a plate of their famous wanton mee in the comfort of an air-conditioned environment!
