I finally went back for this at Tori Sanwa. The good thing is that the negi shio seasoning was half-decent. But this kitchen was so sloppy that there was a small puddle of water underneath it. They also forgot to give me part of my order. Nope, this isn't going to displace my beloved basil chicken from Ootoya.
When I first saw this place (107 North Bridge Road #01-11, 6360-3371), I was a little concerned. After all, one of the best things about Hototogisu is how creative it can be with its broth, so mazesoba seemed like an out-of-character stretch.
The folks behind Ajisen brought this oyakodon chain down to Raffles City Shopping Centre (252 North Bridge Road #B1-75). It's too bad that I didn't like it. I'm not sure if the Ajisen folks messed it up or if this is the way that it is supposed to be, but that bowl above was so unremarkable that I never would've thought that it was from a famous chain if no one had told me about it.
This small chain has has been around for a while, but it was only recently that I learned to appreciate how wonderful otah can be. So it took me until today to notice how this shop has multiple varieties available, including not just various proteins, but even some larger sized options that get wrapped in banana leaves rather than coconut leaves.

Personally, it's another item struck off my humble bucket list, where we paid almost S$150 for two persons. Any learning points? Once is enough even though it's a place where you might be able to impress your dates; I prefer KOMA though.
Sushi Tei is proud to present its new seasonal menu, Natsu, which means summer in Japanese! The menu is a splendid presentation of unique Japanese produce such as Berry Hiramasa, Okinawa Goya, and Juku Aged-Wagyu.
The refreshed O’Coffee Club Raffles City is an inviting place for good coffee and reasonably priced hearty dishes.
This ayam geprek stall from the Ayam Penyet Ria folks had a sign that said that their sambal was "SPICY A.F.," which naturally drew me in (107 North Bridge Road #B2-K07).
