The Cameron Highlands is the name of a scenic hill station in the state of Pahang in Malaysia which dates from the 19th century. The highlands were founded by a British colonialist named Sir William Cameron and were named after him, and were modeled on a traditional English village. The aim of the Cameron Highlands was to provide residents in the lowlands with some respite during the summer months and allow them to enjoy the cooler climate here, and you will find English influences all over the region.
Cameron Highlands is Malaysia’s largest hill-station located about 200km north of Kuala Lumpur. It is well known for its cool temperatures, breathtaking views of the tea plantations, strawberry picking and fresh produce from the local farms.

Overall, some of the dishes at Ferm were a hit and miss while some were decent enough for a good meal. The prices were also quite pocket-friendly as we ordered many dishes but the total was less than MYR 150.
Overall, the ingredients were very fresh and did not taste like it was laden with MSG. The price of the add-ons is slightly more expensive compared to the other restaurants offering steamboat in Cameron but I feel the quality does justify the price tag.
Overall, I would still recommend this hotel as they are fairly new plus most parts of the hotel are well maintained and the service staff are all polite, helpful and friendly.
Squeezed between an arts and crafts studio and a plant shop is Amazon Le Petit Cafe. Befitting its name, its simple white interior is decorated with hanging plants, pressed flower and fern art and woodsy furnishings to create a tranquil setting that’s instantly beckons you inside. You can order your drinks to go from a window but we found the lure too great.
Coral Hill in Cameron Highlands is one such hike. At 1573 metres, reaching its peak sounds daunting, but with a starting altitude of 1556 metres, an elevation gain well under 50 metres and a trail less than 1 kilometre, Coral Hill is equitable, achievable and easily squeezed into a single morning.
Opened in 2022, Siar sits on the top floor of an unassuming block of new shophouses in Kea farm. Unlike Wogoxette Upstairs which is situated on the upper floor of a bungalow home and rented out in its entirety, or Heahitude which has rooms that include a bunk bed configuration, Siar is a chic 10-room sanctuary of 8 double and 2 twin rooms to appeal to couples and friends.
Gunung (Mount) Irau - the tallest peak in Cameron Highlands is located in one of the oldest forests in Malaysia.
Trans YB3B basically is hiking the entire Gunung Yong Belar traditional trail (Blue Valley Dam except piping area) and new trail (kebun) crossing a few peaks like Gunung 6040, Gunung 3 Boundaries, Gunung Challi and Gunung Yong Belar. It is part of the traditional V1 / V2 route to Gunung Gayong, Korbu and Yong Yap.
In short, the place is bonkers, but provided enough fun (and a slide) that we ended up there for longer than an hour in the end, which I certainly didn’t expect when I saw the sign from the road. Enjoyable, if you like a little kitsch.
It doesn’t take long to walk around the enclosure, get through all the sheep food, and stroke a few lambs, but it’s pleasant and our daughter enjoyed it, even if some of the sheep were a bit big for her!
