Pork (Pai Kuat Wong) - medium portion - MYR 22 nett.
New Paris Restaurant at SS2, PJ.
This restaurant came highly recommended by regulars but we came away as though we did not get to the lofty heights of their capability. The restaurant is big and has another level on the first floor. Parking may be challenging.
Ask anyone who stays in the neighborhood of SS2 (Petaling Jaya) for an inexpensive, quick and comfortable place for Zhu Char (Chinese Stir Fry dishes), New Paris Restaurant is probably one of the names most mentioned. The long-established Chinese home-styled restaurant has been there for long and has since, earned its reputation for being one of the best Chinese restaurants around. Nestled within the housing area, the restaurant occupies 3 units with a huge signage can be easily spotted from far. The place is huge and could easily accommodate diners in large groups, air-conditioned seats are available too. The Cantonese-styled menu is large and reasonably priced (in the context of Klang Valley's living standards).
Prices are reasonable and a place worth coming back.
Rating: 7/10. The food tasted good for some and great for some others too. Very fast and pleasant service. Definitely an eating place for busy people like me who likes the taste, the speed and the enjoyment (especially when eating with J and my sis!). Another memory captured from eating at New Paris:)
We also had other stuff like pig leg (ewww..), yam basket thingy (order this! It's good), vege, omelette and some others I can't remember. I would recommend the yam basket & champagne chicken ^_^
Verdict: New Paris is no longer cheap as before but strangely it is still packed (people mountain people sea). Furthermore, their isn't exactly the best but I guess the super fast service makes up for any short falls. I still miss the dirty 'old' Paris.
