The restaurant is small with friendly and casual atmosphere. Patrons are mostly family. There are private rooms for big groups in the restaurant too. The restaurant is pack during weekend. Sometimes you have to wait to be seat for at least 30 minutes. Their service is good, they will quickly go to you if you need anything. Although the restaurant is crowded most of the time, but they are very efficiency, your foods can be served quickly.
Bila sampai je set Salmon Butteryake tuh, aku rase set tuh besar. 2 hiris salmon yang besar digoreng dengan butter. Bukan deep fried ek? Ada miso sup & seaweed, pickles (kubis), pickles cucumber, cili padi potong (ahaha…Japanese???), tembikai & plain rice.
Soft Shell Crab Maki (RM26.00/serving) Crispy, fried soft shell crab stuffed within sushi rice, fish roe, and cucumbers, wrapped with traditional Japanese seaweed. We really enjoyed this :)
However, for a flat price of RM43.50 you can enjoy eat all you can steamboat buffet here. Variety is king at Fat One Steamboat, as it boasts over 300 different steamboat ingredients and many of these include real seafood. If you are lucky, you might find mantis shrimps in the buffet tray.
Ginger Steam Ikejime Red Snapper The other half of the fish was steamed in a premium soy sauce with ginger, shimeji mushroom, topped with scallion to bring out the delicate, sweet flavour of the fish. Truly delicious!

Seafood feast is a good idea anytime, don't you think so too? :D The other day, thanks to my friend's recommendation, I was at the newly refurbished Wellcome Seafood Restaurant, Bandar Sunway Mentari. The restaurant kitchen is now helmed by the talented Chef Alvin Chin and he has prepared a tempting menu for us.
Verdict: We’ve tried something different than our usual “dai chow” fare, taste and price wise, very affordable the ingredients was fresh. Don’t mind come back if I’m at the vicinity.
Yes, I enjoyed it, and it interestingly included a lot of crunchy shrimp foreleg shells in there.

One of a famous pork noodle that located in Sunway Mentari is Ah Or Pork Noodle. Been talking among my friends to drop by for this stalls for long time till 2 days ago. This is in my hunting list for a few years where the story connected way back my college years, where used to stay in SS15 and a frequent diner at one of a pork noodle shop that located opposite carefour till they have shifted. Only found out that SS15 is the one that we have used to eat and Mentari is run by his sister.
Dataran Mentari's 銘記茶室 Restoran Meng Kee looks to be a possible good choice.

Food was good, yawww. The Orange Chicken Rice Bowl was unique, in a positive way. I’m usually not one to get excited when there is orange in my rice but it surprisingly worked, very well. If I am not mistaken, the orange used was not purely the fruit itself but instead orange marmalade? Yea, it had the same consistency as a marmalade – thick, gooey, sticky, pleasantly sweet. It sure did add a unique flavor to this dish, overall. There was a generous portion boneless chicken pieces + corn + cucumber + egg. This dish was delicious. The flavors are unique and interesting , the portion is generous. An awesome dish.
Tom Yum Soup was yum. When I first sipped this incredible soup, I was surprised by intoxicating flavours of lemongrass, garlic, lime, coconut milk and chili. YUMMY!!! Must try in Baan Rao Restaurant.
And this round of foodie trail has brought us to Hwa Ga火家, a hanguk shiktang situated at Sunway Mentari that is serving up toothsome array of Korean barbequed meat besides its specialty- Nurungji Tongdak! Nurungji Tong Dak refers to a traditional Korean food made of scorched rice with roasted chicken. Further more it consist primeraly of a whole chicken filled with glutionous rice, black rice, pumpkin seed, barley, garlic, ginseng, jujube, ginkgo nut and pine nut. Its cooked in the fire oven for at least one and a half hours to make the chicken oil to become balanced.
Overall the food tasted delicious and satisfying, definitely worth trying out!
The Hanoian Style Grilled Pork with Vermicelli (RM18.90) is so good! The well-seasoned pork patties and tender grilled pork belly slices sit in a sweet and tangy broth. We scoop generous amounts over the tender vermicelli noodles. The whole dish is brightened with large sprigs of fresh herbs and lettuce leaves.
Besides the usual Vietnamese meaty rice and noodle meals, it also offers Vietnamese vegetarian recipes.
This is one of the crowds favourite which you can give it a try too. CANH CHUA NGAO NƯỚC DỪA Clam in Coconut Broth @ RM 14.90. Soup is quite solid in taste and clam is fresh. Love the balance of taste of lemon grass which is not overpowering that can taste the actual broth base.
Food is okay.
Their chicken teriyaki is one of the signature too. Their chicken teriyaki is one of my favourites as they are well marinated with the teriyaki sauce and then being grilled till perfection. Nice and juicy each bites.
Premium Loin Aburi (Torched) (RM 28) One can enjoy the premium A5 wagyu which is beautifully torched in front. You can savour the sliced wagyu which is served with the sea salt and every mouthful is awesomely good and delicious.
Salmon Zanmai is one of my favourite dish. For salmon lover, you can dive to enjoy the awesome choices of sushi all in one goal where you can have salmon, salmon belly, broiled salmon, salmon roasted with cod roe and the salmon roll all in one place. One can enjoy the melts in the mouth salmon which is delectable.
It was a good lunch with my sister. Good & fast service and the quality of the food remains the same in all the outlets which I am quite impressed. Well done guys.
Darling also ordered this Mentaiko Spider Roll (RM13.80). Deep fried soft shell crab rolled in nori sheet and rice. Wrapped in Vietnamese spring roll skin and topped with avocado and cod roe mayonnaise. We super love this and will definitely order this again on our future visit.
Heavy taste ramen.
Overall lunch experience here at Menya Miyabi did not leave a good impression.
We ordered one of their best seller ramen “Miyabi Shoyu Ramen” RM23.50 serves in a thick brownish soup made with fermented soybean, ramen noodles, braised eggs, char siew, and flavored bamboo shoots. We are rather surprised to find out that the ramen noodle used is dan-dan noodles (担担面) which produces chewier texture, soyu broth tasted like being stir-fried before, very enriched with the fragrant aroma from the wok (锅气). The Miyabi Shoyu Ramen was delicious except the aftertaste for being too salty, the chef might have neglected that we do not have the winter season (heavy flavor) in our country perhaps? 😉

mr. Tuk Tuk, a Thai restaurant that always crowded with people. Every time pass by there sure have people queue up outside the restaurant. Wanted to try for a long time but when look at the queue will change my mind. It located at LG2, opposite Cold Storage. As always long queue but we managed to get a seat just a few minutes because of 2 sitter.
I highly recommend getting the Tom Yum (you can choose from chicken, seafood or shrimp). We ordered the chicken for 2 pax (RM39++). Taste wise, this is one of the better tom yum soups that I’ve had in the Klang Valley. Sour with a spicy kick (but not to the point that you breathe fire; just makes you sweat a little), it’s chock full of flavour from the lemongrass, chilli and other herbs. The chicken meat was also cooked to tender perfection. You can easily polish off bowls of rice with this.
Phad Thai Noodle was superb. It's served with a piece of lime, bean sprouts and chilli flakes. Guys, make sure to squeeze the lime over the noodles before you enjoy! Phad Thai Noodle @ RM 20.76
Phad Thai Noodles (udang) berharga RM20.76 (tanpa 6% gst dan 10% caj servis). Rasanya agak masin. Kacang, serbuk cili kasar, taugeh, limau dan telur juga diletakkan. Anda boleh gaul semua bahan tersebut sebelum makan. Harganya agak mahal sebab hanya ada 3 ekor udang sahaja.
For me I am so in love with the Ebi Tempura Udon which comes with the slurpy noodles and topped with the crunchy crispy deep fried prawns on top. Yummz
Salmon Kama Karaage (RM 5.80) The deep fried salmon was quite tasty, juicy and crispy. We saw many people ordering chicken karaage but I didn't because didn't think it was special enough to order karaage. Moreover, the salmon had promotion at RM 5.80 instead of RM 10.80
