No complaints today! and very interesting to be eating behind a run down bus stop, where there is also an Indian/Mamak stall next to the kiosk.
Our most favourite dish here in A • Toast is their Milky White Toast (RM8.90). Not only the dish was visually appealing, we loved the combination of fluffy white bread and grilled chicken. There was a good zestfulness and kick from the chicken. Overall, the entire dish was very flavourful and delicious.
The fried rice was aptly named. They said Mix Meat and that was what we got. Chicken, pork, seafood, egg..yup, the whole mix. The rice was flavorful and tasty
Deep Fried Pork Ball is one of their signature dish. Wrap with fresh popiah skin, pack with punch and every bite is filled with meat. Those who love mince pork like me, then would be a great dish. Slightly crisp on the outside too.
Here's the location.
Restoran Tien Tien Lai have been in existence for more than 40 over years and Jason remembered this place and its signature steamed egg dish. The kitchen is at the alley between the post office and a block of shops with a couple of small tables. We parked our bicycles here safe under watchful eyes of the operator as we went over two lots away for a bigger table for our dinner.
Reasons to visit: Chic and comfortable setting; great cocktails, with special mentions for Mr Ahmad and Mrs Lim; amazing hoppers to go with very reasonably priced cocktails, what with their weekend bottomless brunch menu; wine, champagne, whiskey and other drinking options are available upstairs as well, including local artisan wine.
At first we thought that the appams will not be able to fill our stomach and had even planned to go somewhere else for lunch. But after having our meal here, we decided to go straight home. Don’t underestimate these appams. They can fill you up to last the whole day.
Reasons to visit: the Gula Melaka and Desiccated Coconut Poached in Coconut Milk and the Slow Roasted Chicken Rendang, Sambal, Crispy Anchovies, Ground Nuts, and Cucumber are particularly notable, but everything on the menu is generally excellent. Being made from rice, Hoppers are gluten free (except the cauliflower because of its coating), so those on a gluten-free diet will find the menu especially refreshing.
Certainly a rock bottom deal for a 3 course Valentine Dinner priced at only RM168+ for 2 persons!
Do call for reservation for this 5-Course Valentine’s Dinner Menu priced at RM168+ (for 2 pax).
Service is slow, food is nice, price is above average. Value for money item would be Fried Chicken and Curry Rice. Cheese cake with cream is pretty good.
Overall, the high cost of the meal (RM268 for 2.5 diners) wasn’t matched by the quality of food, so I don’t think I am likely to return in the near future. On the other hand, if I could get away with just having three courses of dessert, I might change my mind.
YURI / Matcha 6th Avenue Cheesecake! Priced at RM21, this is exclusively made available at The Tokyo Restaurant, Isetan The Japan Store, Lot 10. We personally prefer this to the original now as it has the right balance of sweetness together with the matcha. So velvety smooth and tasty!
This place offer decent walnut and black sesame paste, most places taste like some factory made powdery taste. They did put some effort to make some dessert art for you.
I have high hopes on this Steamed Egg Custard @ RM 3.50.. However it was quite a let down in both taste and texture.
♥Verdict: Although the choices are quite limited but Restoran Ruby still is a decent place for Tong Sui especially if you’re a fan of Tong Sui in paste form like these.
Inspired by the Chong Qing-Grilled Fish, Fatt Kee Roast Fish has recently gained a lot of attention from netizens due to its gigantic serving with loads of Seafood swimming in the huge pot. The concept is not new- Deep Fried Fish with Seafood (like Prawns, Squid, Flower Clams) and vegetables soaked in a spicy-savory Seafood broth; served in the way similar to Hot Pot/ Steamboat. The spiciness varies and can be tuned accordingly but the heat-intolerant should be extra careful on selecting the spiciness as it can be lip-burning hot. It can be then enjoyed just like an ordinary Hot Pot, with extra condiments like Udon, Vegetables and Seafood to be added. Do note that there are two branches and both locations are near to each other; one is air-conditioned while another one is al-fresco setting. The flavors were fun and the combination was exciting, a place worth visiting.
Overall, we enjoyed the food in Fatt Kee Roast Fish and will come back again for more. They don’t take reservation so be there early to get your table and the crowd starts coming in after 7pm. Fatt Kee Roast Fish Pudu 發記招牌特色烤鱼 opens from 5pm to midnight daily.

Taste:9/10(Delicious. Satisfied with the meals here. So far they seems to serve the best beef noodles in KL. Portion were good. I tried both version of soup and dry beef noodles and found that dry version taste better. Also their dry version with peanuts which makes the noodles taste better. The meat is soft. The tendon is good and normal beef noodles bowl came with beef balls & tripes. I order extra honeycomb which is very tender and taste good in beef broth. You also have option to add crispy fish skin for tastier option)
The tendons were so good and soft. Good till the last morsel.
Hidangan Idaman Sekeluarga @ Big Apple Restaurant (7pm to 10pm) Price : RM129nett per adult, RM59nett per child (27-29 April & 20-22 May 2020) RM139nett per adult, RM69nett per child (30 April - 19 May 2020)
The Signature Hokkien Mee, 14.20 ringgit was delicious. It was packed with pork meat and lard. Literally filled with it and real greasy – the criterias to a good hokkien mee, lol. Yum Yum!
If this is a café, you probably pays slightly more for that but food quality wise differs. This is probably the best pork noodles in the city right and correct us if we are wrong.
This is definitely one of the best pork noodles places in KL. During this time, please stay at home first, beat the COVID-19 curve, take care and be safe. Will visit Restoran Win Heng Seng Imbi Famous Pork Noodles once the MCO 2.0 (movement control order 2.0) is over!
overall plate of Charsiew noodle!
Situated at ICC Pudu, Ah Weng Koh has its own special dining area separated from the food court. We order the special Hainan tea with ice cream, didn't disappoint and worth a try. The toast is good..
Some people say its so so and some say its very good. Again depends on your taste bud.
Nice little waffle shop, with a few types of local coco drinks to choose from.
Chicken Masala, 7.50 ringgit. I like the chicken masala – it had a good amount of spice and gravy to it.
A banana leaf rice meal is not complete without some side dishes. Mutton and chicken, will be prepared in different styles daily (either masala, peratal or varuval) to offer choices to diners. During our visit, it was mutton masala (RM9.90); the portion was generous with tender, chunks of meat in a delicious gravy. Highly recommended!
Apart from that, now you start your day at Bananabro, as they are serving Malaysian most favourite breakfast - NASI LEMAK. Don't miss out this amazing food cause it is only available for breakfast start from 8.30am to 11am. Deliciously side dishes, juicy tender fried chicken and fragrant sambal with rice. MUST TRY!!! Nasi Lemak Fried Chicken (RM 11.90)
In the heart of KL, lies an iconic Restaurant Hung Kee famous for their homemade Wantan Mee. Located along the busy Jalan Loke Yew, this old restaurant has b...
Based on my less than satisfactory eating experience at Hung Kee I can safely say I won’t be a returning customer. Even the wantan mee stall a stone throw’s away from my house could whip up better noodles (prepared by locals and not to mention cheaper too) so logically why would I want to eat here ever again?
Overall, I loved it! The charcoal cooking process enhance the flavour. Initially I have doubts seeing all the foreigner workers cooking and preparing the dish, but I was wrong.
The food was great, the prices were reasonable and seeing the claypots being exposed to fire was the artistic flair to cap it all off.
Food was good, yawwww. Very good. The pork sausage + chicken + salted fish + rice = Da’ bomb! As you mix the rice, scooping the bottom, the crunchy slightly burnt part mix with the soft, moist part – a perfect combo. The chicken pieces came infused with a ‘kechuppy’ flavor and it literally falls of the bone, the pork sausage provided a sweetness that complimented the saltiness from the salted fish. Truly satisfying to mix it all up and having a taste, you’d get a burst of flavors.
Special crafted dishes include the in-season hotaru ika (firefly squid). The accompanied Karasu miso sauce added a lovely layer of taste to the dish.
Reasons to visit: A truly authentic Japanese experience with excellent service. Steamed Amberjack cheeks, Scallop and Sea Urchin Nigiri Sushi and Salmon Roe Rolls. The Omakase menu is priced at RM420 with Sake pairing options (RM200 for 4 sakes).
There are 3 types of Omakase set which starts from RM120++ which is known as Koi, comes with 10 types of unique nigiri sushi. Next is Azabu Course @RM220++, 2 kinds of sashimi, chawanmushi, 7 pieces of nigiri sushi, makimono, palate freshener and a dessert. If you would like something premium, go for Chef's Specialty Course @RM420++. What will be given to you will be a complete surprise. I had Koi course on that day. It was really enough for a small appetite like me.
