Perjalanan dari KL ke Bentong tidak lah sejauh mana, lebih kurang 50 minit macam tu. Ok lah kan? Kalau dari KL, boleh ikut Karak highway Lemang To'Ki akan berada betul-betul di jalan utama laluan hendak ke Gua Musang. Dah sampai area situ, kalau na pak kereta berderet tu memang ye lah tu.
Ada pelbagai pilihan yang ada dekat Lemang To'ki ini. Yang baru-baru nak cuba, boleh rasa makan lemang bersama rendang daging atau ayam dengan harga RM5 sahaja. Selain itu, anda juga boleh cuba lemang bersama rendang campur (RM7) dan serunding (RM5). Rasa lemang memang layan bila makan panas-panas, kena pula dengan rendangnya yang lazat. Memang sedap!

As the Yuletide season is approaching- which is just a few days’ shy away, it can’t help but to relive back the sweet memories of cozy and warm moment spent at the cooling pristine hills of Cameron Highlands, at the vintage crib of Ye Olde Smokehouse.
Located at Tringkap area’s main roadside lies a Water Cress Farm well known for its natural farming, spectacular scenery, and delicious styles of watercress cooking.
Overall, the food at Water Cress Valley is fairly tasty and fresh. Nevertheless, I think the main appeal lies in the nice scenery that the restaurant offers. Water Cress Valley also serves stir-fried (煮炒) Chinese dishes, but we do not have the stomach capacity to taste any dishes this round.
Water Cress Valley, like the menu stated, is both a farm and a restaurant. Right beneath the semi-alfresco (the only way to dine in Cameron Highland) is a beautiful water cress farm. I suppose the water cress served here at this restaurant is right from the farm, and other vegetables most likely from the highland as well, but I’m just guessing.
Overall, the food at Yuan Kie Kopitiam Bentong is good. It is basically a simple kopitiam in Bentong serving breakfast and comfort food for the locals. It is just that for this couple of years, Bentong becomes popular as the weekend place for city dwellers and hence the influx of people. We know many people recommended Yuan Kie Kopitiam Bentong, we think this is a good place for breakfast too. Thanks for reading and safe travels!

While not the best wanton mee we’ve ever tasted – the noodles were pretty decent and above average. We like that the noodles were al-dente, The soy sauce mix was also on the savoury side with a thicker consistency.

The highlight of the day was of course the Lamb Sausage Calzone RM58. Folded in half, it was huge, about the length of my arm. The pizza base was spotted with charred patches, and delivered a firm bite. Tore the calzone apart and out spilled a mess of chopped lamb sausages, eggplants, melted mozzarella and oregano.
Avocado Toastie for me - grilled sourdough with smashed avocado, tomato and feta crumbs. I've tried avocado toast in many cafes due to my diet and I think the price is somewhat reasonable (it's Genting after all).
My personal favourite catch there is the light and flaky Cod (regular RM40, large RM48 & legendary RM58). Served piping hot, the slab of imported Atlantic cod comes coated in airy-light, crisp batter with a pile of thick-cut, double-cooked chips.
Overall, it was a pleasant dining experience- we love the fish dishes here, as they are fresh with minimal seasonings and the nearest taste we could get locally here at High Line, Resorts World Genting, almost akin to those served in Australia and New Zealand.
SPICY ROOIBOS The association of this South Africa rooibos combined with orange, ginger, almond and cinnamon creates an extraordinary mouthfeel and flavourful moment. It’s palatably engaging with its different gustatory gradation whereby your taste bud would be amazingly tickled by its bright notes infused with some hints of spice too. On top of that, its presentation is pretty alluring especially when served with whole cinnamon stick for that healthier mocktail recipe compared to any of the virgin mojito, hehe.

Between the two affordable ice-cream shop in Bentong, we like this one slightly more.
According to my good friend, her 76-year old dad has been eating ice-cream here since he was a kid! The uncle was all smiles (he must be over 80) when he greeted us at the shop.
Although making the journey to a somewhat outskirt part of the country is not something a random traveler would just do, do drop by for some good local ice cream if you are in Bentong.
Somehow Bentong is famous for home made ice-cream.
This bowl of ABC (RM5.50) was refreshing in the hot weather. Our ABC contained shaved ice, corn, cendol, red beans, and cincau – and topped with their homemade pandan ice-cream.
T.A.K Ice Cream Corner only serve three flavor of Ice Cream which is Pandan, Coconut and Yam. The one i tried is the Yam flavor.

Overall, our meals at Restoran Chuan Kie has been value for money and met our expectations. We will be back, if we were to pass this way again. There are other similar Chinese restaurants offering cheap and good food in this small town as well.
The staff are not very friendly, but they are not rude either. Just go in with low expectations of the service and you will be fine.

Classically served on a stone-wrought platter, it has Jamon, Chorizo, Salchichon and Lomo Iberico for your dining pleasure. Predictably, I ended up liking the Jamon Iberico the most.

Kampung Bukit Tingi is famous for Bentong ginger, running chicken and fresh water fish. The village is almost free from population. Simple steam meat with ginger is mouth watering.
They also served a variety of handmade balls too where for first timer you can go for the Assorted Balls Platter (RM 26.50) which comes with their signature Teochew Style Fish Balls, Soft Bone Pork Meat Balls, Black Pepper Pork Meat Balls and Cuttlefish Balls.
Assorted Paste Platter RM48.80 Summergirl’s favourite. A trio of paste – Ebiko Prawn paste, Pork Paste, Paste of the Day. There’s also so original Fish Paste, Pork Paste, as well as more interesting flavours such as Dried Scallop Fish Paste, Century Egg Fish Paste and Otak-otak Fish Paste to try on.
The hotpot ingredients are of premium quality, expect to find handmade fish balls, fresh fish paste, imported meats, luxurious seafood etc on the menu (you may find more info on their website). We found most of the hotpot ingredients were fresh... at least the hefty price tags are well-justified
