Been heading back ever since. Make sure you order the dishes and have them all served on a single plate, rather than separate them. Curry rice is always best enjoyed when it gets a little messy.
This Hainanese curry rice is worth queueing for.
On the whole, this is a rather satisfying plate of curry rice. I do enjoy what I had although I wish that the curry could be spicier to have more kick.
Again not a bad fried rice, fluffy and moist, with a good eggy flavour. The taste was of the fried rice was a bit monotonous though – I couldn’t finish all of it. The prawns were nice and bouncy and sweet, but the pork chop was a tad salty, with a bit of a one dimensional flavour, although tender.
Tucked away in Beo Crescent Food Centre, Chef Wang Fried Rice serves up delicious plates of egg and sambal fried rice with a twist!
A dish at Din Tai Fung that’s universally loved is their egg fried rice—made better if it’s topped with shrimps or a pork cutlet, doubly so if you can get it for cheap.
Recommended by Miss Tam Chiak. Seriously popular claypot rice, requiring a 40 minute wait. All the ingredients had good flavours – the sausage and bacon were sweet, savoury and intense with a mild bite, the minced salted fish provided a very nice flavour lift, the rice was lightly savoury with crispy bits and the chicken well marinated, tender and juicy.
For the heaping amounts of ingredients in their claypot rice, Guang Dong Sha Bao Fan’s offerings are very reasonably priced. They certainly make an affordable and quick lunch option, especially for the nearby office crowd.
The only problem I had was that there was too little sauce for the rice and that rice was the dry and beady kind.
Kim Kitchen Braised Duck serves up generous portions of braised duck and pork dishes at an affordable price.
The braising liquid had infused very well especially for those intestines. Soup had a surprisingly bitter base. Noodles weren't incompetently soggy or clumpy.
They're open early for breakfast and have a bunch of other items as well commonly found in economical noodle and cai png stalls.
The white radish cake is generally savoury. The black one is more smoky sweet than savoury because of the dark soy sauce and has a creamier texture because of the moisture.
This is a simple yet satisfying Fried Hokkien Mee though not the best that I have tasted but it is good enough.
Xin Cuisine Chinese Restaurant at Holiday Inn Singapore Atrium welcomes the Year of the Dragon with a delectable array of perennial favorites available for takeout and an exquisite selection of seven celebratory set menus for dining in.
I’ve been to Xin Cuisine before, and true to expectations, the food was very enjoyable. The first course set the tone with the eye-catching Caviar Roasted Duck. Everyone raved about the Hashima & Crab Meat Soup, and when I say everyone, that includes the Ang Moh and the 2 kids! The baked lobster, so flavourful I really wished I had several more! We thoroughly enjoyed every dish. I guess the only complaint if I had one is that the Braised seasonal Vegetables in Superior Stock looks a little simple and plain, and the portion size not very large.
Xin Cuisine’s Chinese New Year Takeaways are available for order from 1 December 2022 till 2 February 2023 through its e-shop . Available for collection/ delivery from 21 December 2022 to 5 February 2023.
Overall, having sushi at Sushiro reminds me of those days as a student and having sushi at Sakae sushi; affordable sushi for all with basic quality sushi.
Sushiro had a cold option on their menu though, which I was curious about. It was kinda like hiyayakko from a texture perspective, but with a savory seafood taste that came through more cleanly than in the hot version. I might actually order this again.
Food at Sushiro features classic Japanese cuisine and modern Japanese Fusion cuisine, with a focus on zushi / sushi.
A popular place for Greek food in Singapore, Bakalaki Greek Taverna is a large Greek restaurant in the River Valley Road / Mohamed Sultan area. Here are some of the food that we tried during a repeat visit.
Bakalaki really is better visited in a large group, when one can share all sorts of stuff, like all of this nicely grilled seafood, not to mention a whole fish that they grilled and filleted for us, following a bunch of meze. I still can't confidently say whether I prefer these guys or Blu Kouzina, but the brightly lit decor is a nice setting for a business lunch.
The space is light and airy and inviting. The food is even better!
One of the best, if not the best curry rice in Singapore, Loo’s Hainanese Curry Rice is something that you have to try at least once in your lifetime. Queues start to form very early, and the popular dishes do tend to sell out fast! So, come early to get your hands on a plate of messy goodness!
Hainanese Curry Rice in Singapore, check out Loo’s if you are in Tiong Bahru which will not disapppoint.

Not a bad plate of chai tow kway. I liked that there were some crusty caramelized bits on some of the edges.
Overall, being a true blue Singaporean, such simple and straight forward breakfast is nothing more than comfortable to me. I will not mind having such traditional Cantonese Porridge frequently with so many varieties around.
Perfect for cheese enthusiasts, this dish promises a delightfully cheesy experience. Additionally, the croissant I ordered was impeccably flaky and buttery.
Nice setting for French cuisine; not as formal and with elements of Balinese design. I do like the high tables and chairs although they might not be as well-liked by other diners. Oh well, it's hard to satisfy everyone!
Dishes recommended were the Southern French-style flaky pizza pissaladiere of Provence, the Alsatian tarte flambee made a la minute, and locally-sourced prawns marinated with French-Spanish influence and garlic, and more!
As a traditional Cantonese family, meals on the 2nd day of the Lunar New Year signify the abundance of food for the rest of the year. Usually, we will either cook at home or eat out at a Chinese restaurant with their CNY set menus, but this was the first year we decided to try a buffet lunch since the variety will be more sumptuous than a 10-course lunch
I find that this buffet offers good value
Overall, Festive International and Seafood BBQ Buffet provide a lot of choice for this festive dinner.
aficionados should definitely give Starter Lab Singapore’s handcrafted sourdough a try; also a laid back place for breakfast & good coffee.
Starter Lab – Bakery at Havelock Road
The high prices are a result of their labour-intensive process and commitment to quality ingredients, both of which are well worth shelling out for.
Overall, I have eaten at Ah Orh at least 3 to 4 times over the years and I do notice that in my recent visit, the standard of the dishes is not on par with previous years.
Ah Orh Teochew Food Delivery / Takeaway
Very fat, creamy, salty and fresh oysters, on top of a fragrant and unoily egg omelette.
Besides Fried Kway Teow, if you are into blood cockles, they do have Beansprouts with Cockles as an individual dish for you to order.
Overall, Meng Kee Fried Kway Teow is one of the more underrated char kway teow stalls that’s definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area!
Meng Kee Fried Kway Teow is a popular char kway teow with many loyal fans who swear by it for its wok hei and robust sweet-savoury flavours.
The kueh pie tee was fresh, crunchy and flavourful, with a delightful kick from the sambal. The bush keluah fried rice was moist and fragrant of bush keluak, yet balanced in flavour and savouriness. The fried chicken was nicely flavourful too.
a nice family peranakan dinner.
Second time back in as many weeks. The flavours of the bakwan kepeting, beef rendang and chap chye were rich, flavoured and yet nuanced with multiple spices. Very nice. The only regret was that the bakwan was machined minced rather than hand minced, and lacked texture.
Looking for Ramadan buffets for Iftar? You won’t want to miss out the Ramadan BBQ buffet at Atrium Restaurant at Holiday Inn Singapore Atrium. Not when the buffet is going at 50% discount for adults! Dinner costs $55++ (U.P. $110) from Sunday – Thursday, and $64++ (U.P. $128) on Fridays and Saturdays.
There are over 40 items on the menu including fresh seafood, appetizers ,sashimi, local delights, Malay classics, and many more.
Atrium Restaurant serves all my favourite local food.
For Happy Hours, the oysters are sure of the value of money. I do not mind revisiting the place again for their freshly shucked oysters as well as other food on the menu. Given the convenience of the location and the ample car park lots, it should be good.

Overall I would give Angie’s Oyster Bar & Grill the following rating: Food: 4.5/5 Space & Ambience: 4/5 Service: 4/5
