Verdict: Overall it’s not bad but I’m not sure if I will purposely come back again. The location is a bit far from where I stay and I have a few more better Wonton Mee options at my disposal.
This is a popular eatery in the evenings even on weekdays; well worth the visit and if you are happen to be in KL after mid-night craving for Wan Ton Mee, this is probably a good place to have one.
My Personal Opinion Though they're more popular for their signature dish of wantan mee (you don't have to be Einstein to know this, it's pretty obvious from the name), I'm not particularly fond of it. I much prefer their other dishes like wild boar curry which you can eat with rice (perhaps their curry chicken and Hakka char yoke will be good accompaniments too).
Since we didn't order a separate plate of roasted meat (siew yoke specifically), we were able to order a plate of wild boar curry @ RM10 (small, RM15 for big) to share instead. This was a very good plate of absolutely tender wild boar meat, a little oily but good (forgivable even, after all a curry needs its oil). The curry had the right amount of spiciness with a hint of sweetness and creaminess from the coconut milk. ^o^
Wan tan mee sauce here is on the sweet after taste which is quite different from Penang which is the salty version. Hence if you are not used to the taste of it, you might find it abit weird. Still love the noodle here as it is still springy as it is and chicken feet is still as good as it used to be.
