The pho soup was very flavorful, with lime juice squeeze into soup, it brought more flavor out from the soup. Very appetizing and can’t stop drinking it with the rice noodle. Didn’t feel thirsty after the meal (hear say indicator whether excessive MSG was used 🙂 ). The beef slices were tender even though it were well done.
Sauteed Sliced Lamb with lemongrass, onions & crispy spring roll RM18.90 The lamb was really nicely sauteed, it was fragrant and flavourful without overpowering the natural flavour of the lamb, but still keeping the natural flavour at a minimum, so the overall olfactory experience was above satisfactory.
Grilled Lemongrass Chicken Banh Mi tastes delicious. The sauce has a good kick of spicy in it and all the ingredients goes well together. However, my boyfriend commented that the chicken tastes frozen to him. Grilled Lemongrass Chicken Banh Mi @ RM 12.90
Interestingly the "凯撒薄卷 Ceaser Wrap" is reported as 689 kcal, and all of the items in the menu comes with caloric counts! with a somewhat positive experience at least on the Ceaser Wrap, looking forward to try out its other offering in their menu!
While doing my nasi lemak eating rounds, I came to know about the nasi lemak wrap by Goodness Greens TTDI. I was intrigued and had wanted to try it ASAP but I got distracted by work and trips. Well, last week I finally sank my teeth into one and boy, the wrap was delicious! On the plus side, it was filling (it was 2 meals for me!) for the price and healthy too. Just remember to go easy on the sambal since that’s where most of the oil comes from.
Big Breakfast @ RM 26 – Two eggs used are kampung eggs (sunny side up/ scramble/ soft boiled) Grilled chicken sausage, grilled tofu, roasted baby potatoes, sauteed trio myshrooms, (shiitake, white buttons, eryngii) with high fibre bread butter served with mini salad. Both of these are just simple and great to pair with their juices.
Verdict: Both Prawn Mee & Char Kueh Teow are worth a try but be warned that you may have to wait for table for both weekdays (office crowds) and weekends.
The standard size ckt at MYR 6 nett is a small enough portion for me
Char Kway Teow - MYR 6 nett. I like it because it is those dry type and there is a lot of eggs and beansprout in it. Blood cockles can be added for a fee.
Verdict: Perhaps we’d ordered the wrong dishes, our dining experience at The Brew House was merely satisfying but I really like the salted egg fish skin and highly recommend it.
For the final snack, I had the Porky Platter (Rm25.80). This dish consist of sliders with luncheon meat and char grilled pork, sticky ribs and roast pork. For someone who want to sample four different type of pork, this is for you. I enjoyed the sticky ribs and roast pork the most. Although the roast pork skin is not super crispy but I think it is passable for my own standard.
The Brew House 最近成了我非常爱去的地方;不管是聚餐,还是小酌,携老还是带幼,这里都非常适合。
Following what they are prides at, this Chinese New Year, Alison Soup House will be serving Chinese New Year Sets Menu, featuring Nyonya Yee Sang and Salmon Fish Soup as highlights, along with Alison’s signature home-cooked dishes. There are 3 menu to choose from – RM68 for 2 pax, RM138 for 4 pax and RM198 for 6 pax. Diners can enjoy this CNY Set from now till the 15th day (Chor 15) of Lunar calendar.
This year they are preparing homey Chinese new year menu to warm up your tummy for a great casual conversation. AS my previous mention of my blog post, if you are willing to dig slightly deeper into your pockets for a great bowl of soup indeed a great place to be as they are using premium ingredients to prepare.
Perhaps there's nothing grand about soup, steamed chicken, noodles and rice. But on days when the palate yearns for comfort, we turn to them. Thanks to a wonderful invitation recently, I was at Alison Soup House at TTDI Taman Tun Dr Ismail to sample and review their latest Chinese New Year Set Menu for the coming festive season.
There was not much meat on the ribs. The meat was well marinated though a bit on the dry side. Had the membrane been removed, it would be better as it was very chewy. The sambal was good and so was the sup tulang. I must admit that I enjoyed my dinner although at RM59.00, I would not order this again. Many thanks to mum who insisted on footing the bill (again!).

It was a choice between this place and the nearby Big Tree Bakery, and we are both glad we came here instead. The menu is just so much more interesting, and we weren’t even expecting the Instagrammable food! Both of our dishes exceeded expectations, and I’m curious to try the other offerings from Flavours Kitchen next time.
What do you get when ID meets F&B? The answer is KO, a gorgeous Taiwanese resto that’s an expression of art coupled with simple yet satisfying Taiwanese fare. Without having to say much about the decor, the pics speak for themselves – tasteful modern interpretation of the soulfulness of Taipei. Best part is, most of the stuff were DIY as the owners had to keep to a budget. I just love it when varying concepts come together successfully.
Perhaps nothing too fancy here in this kopitiam but with 10-12 choices of hawker style food, its a good enough breakfast/lunch spot for those working or residents nearby.
Well, besides the chicken being on the scrawny side, the dishes overall tasted pretty nice. Both the kurma and ayam masak merah was flavorful and tasty. Both dishes came with a side of dhalcha and pickled vegetables.
Next up on the lunch menu, it's the Chicken Cordon Bleu (RM18). I am a fan of this dish with a generous amount of roll chicken with ham and cheese oozing out of the filling. The chicken was surprisingly tender although it wasn't warm anymore by the time I took a bite out of it.
PEDAS TERBAKAR TENGGIRI FISH BANANA LEAF (MYR 25 FOR SHARING PORTION) Thick slab of mackerel fish nicely marinated in special chili paste, air asam before grilled to perfection and perfectly paired with white rice. The spice relish is special and robust in flavor, and yet not too spicy, so it’s suitable for everyone.
MakaMakan by Jibby menu offers a delicious list of breakfast, salad, Asian mains, surf & turf, pasta and dessert. Their Australian-inspired breakfast with Jibby very own creative twist is always a good option among brunch lovers; while Asian mains here is something you could hardly go wrong with, thanks to the confidence given by Serai, which is also under the same management team.
After arriving at this place, I can confirm that this place had definitely lived up to my expectation, stunning mural adorning the entire wall inside the premise, a touch of opulence with the use of gold hardware and an ostensibly industrial vibe with the wide folding door, it was absolutely modern and chic. But I'd say I am not the biggest fan of the overall layout of this place. Located just on the lower ground of the newly opened mall, Makamakan by Jibby is incredibly difficult to locate all due to its unstrategic location (i.e. at the end of the stretch of the row of restaurants which by the way has no access from the inside of the mall). The outlet gives me the impression that they emphasizes more on al fresco dining than indoor dining judging from the small space and the limited dining table indoor and abundance of tables outside. While it is a pretty sight to look at while sitting outdoor, I always think it's not the most practical setting given the blazing heat that's bestowed on us on a fairly frequent basis.
Reasons to visit The Fire Grill, a steakhouse in TTDI: their promise to serve food with love and care; Salmon Coconut Cream Spinach; fresh ingredients; world-class gins; value and quality; sense of humour (especially the signs in the washroom– go have a peek for yourself).
Reasons to visit The Fire Grill TTDI: a comfortable place to lose track of time with friends; friendly and inviting service; value-for-money; a wide selection of gin; must try Turmeric Coconut Creamed Spinach, Spiced-rubbed Ribeye and Coconut Sorbet.
The Fried Koay Teow was pretty good, decent. It includes noodles, egg, prawns, chinese sausage, ‘kerang’ and etc. I’ve paid RM 8 for the same dish elsewhere though and taste alot better.
If you are lazy to cook for the day, I highly recommend trying out Red Penguin that serves affordable yet delicious meals which can be easily done on their website www.redpenguin.my/ the pandemic has really effected a lot of our local businesses
Nasi Lemak Siu Yuk, 8.80 ringgit. We decided to try something from their Nasi Lemak Meal Deal and opted for the Nasi Lemak Siu Yuk. This deal basically comes with a grape/mango frizzy which basically was a fruit flavoured sugary drink with a sparkling water effect. Food arrived pretty quick, yay! Nasi Lemak tasted nice but the pork though, was okaylah, it did not elevate the Nasi Lemak, instead the Nasi Lemak did that for the Siu Yuk. It was a decent and filling dish.
Noodle Combo 1: Bihun + Squid + Brocolli + Kung Fu Kick, 13 ringgit. First of all, the portions here are generous. Lots of noodles. You certainly wont see me complaining though, I skipped lunch today and this was totally in my favor. The bihun was delicious. I’d certainly give this combo another go. I certainly did pick the right FLAVOR for this one, Kung Fu Kick. Kung Fu Kick, as mentioned above is a Wokow’s special hot sauce. It was a little spicy and a little sweet, a perfect blend of both. The awesome flavor plus squids, brocolli, carrots, a yummy dish indeed.
TableTalk is simply a place to venture too when you are looking for food and here in TableTal; dine anytime for
Overall comment: Great-tasting food & generous portion at affordable prices! Halal: Pork-free. Table Talk Restaurant has been around for almost 2 years now & it ...
Reasons to try Chef’s Table Asian Fusion Omakase by Chef Kom: an inspiring meal of creative cuisine; a great way to enjoy a dinner party with friends without having to do the set-up, cooking or cleaning; no corkage fee.
Pad Thai, yum yum! Modern twist to the traditional Phad Thai by using Angel hair pasta, and it’s so good that my sister loved it. Phad Thai @ RM 14.15
The Poke, 20 ringgit. Man, this dish was delicious! This is apparently a Hawaiian inspired dish which comes with lemongrass fried chicken , egg, several vegetables and K2’s special peanut sauce. At first glance, every item on the plate seem separated, only to be connected by their special sauce blend but upon mixing it all up, it sure did blend well. Every mouthful was yummy and i would totally order this dish again. …. and did I mention that this dish is only 20 ringgit, which also includes free flow of lemongrass drink and prawn crackers? Worth every penny.
