Reasons to visit 2OX French Mediterranean Restaurant Brunch: Did I mention the scrambled eggs?
To be honest, the savory tier was pretty impressive, the flavours were just right. But then again, the portion was really too small for us to be able to properly enjoy them
This New Year’s Eve menu is priced at RM180++ per person and RM260++ per person for Wine Pairing option.
Prices may be a little steep but justifiably so as only premium ingredients are used. Service is impeccable and my only regret is that I am limited by my tummy and my wallet.
David's have done it very nicely, it was easy to bite into and the grilled exterior complemented the fleshy inside very well. And marinating with a Ras el hanout, spice mix have made it all the better - we slowly savoured it bite by bite. Hah! even looking at this photo again has made me drool!
Cafe David has a good customers mixture of local residents and those who comes from both nearby and far places. It does offer good quality and tasty food, an...
The Bouillabaisse, the iconic Marseilles seafood soup, is chockful of goodies, tiger prawns, mullet, and the soup, which is more bisque like than clear (unlike the usual Marseilles ones), is so good that left all of us wanting more. Now, the main surprise was the breads, because well, it's bread, and at this stage of the meal, no one wants more bread, BUT one per chance bite into that crusty piece of goodness, it didn't take long before all of it was gone.
Reasons to visit Chez Gaston, French Bistro Bangsar: Charcuterie goodies to share with friends, a beautiful twist on the Salad Nicoise, and meaty mains that come with sauces prepared by the hands of an expert. Of course, same room for dessert.
One of our most favorite salad with goat cheese. Tossed salad with vinaigrette and pork bacon bits. Served along with baked matured goat cheese on baguette stick topped with honey and black pepper.
Good service, but small portion and average taste given the price point.
Although the staff’s attitude could use a tune-up and the prices are obnoxious, I begrudgingly have to admit that the food here is quite tasty. It’s what keeps this place decently busy, even at midday on a Monday with no lunch sets offered. This meal cost us over RM50 and we didn’t even get any drinks, and Mark wasn’t all that hungry and tried to get something small. If you’re a regular person who cares how much money flies out of your bank account, Ra-Ft should be reserved for an occasion and not just a whatever work lunch. And definitely make sure you are hungry, so that you’re not paying RM20 for a salad.
The Botanist RM25 – a vegetarian dish that caught Summergirl’s attention the most, as not many cafes have vegetable-loaded brunch dish like this other than salad. Gluten free bread with mashed peas spread, further layered up with broccoli, zucchini, kale and pea sprouts! Not to forget, a poached egg hidden within.
Ra-Ft Breakfast, 33 ringgit I liked the fact that when I requested for scrambled eggs to be ‘runny’, it came runny. You’d be surprised how many times I’d have to return the plate for them to get it right the second time, elsewhere … many times. Thank god it was not the case here. Here, they listen. As you’d be able to see, this dish comes with a slice of homemade bread, mushrooms, baked beans, roasted tomatoes, bacon, chicken sausage, scrambled eggs and mashed potato. It was good, yummy. Every single item on the place was flavorful.
Verdict: It’s a feel-good cafe with nice dining environment accompanied by soft background music and attentive service. Prices are fair although the food we had not entirely great (the bagel was just mediocre) but the breakfast platter certainly manage to induce repeat visits to Fa-Ft!
Food was good and acceptable. Will likely return to try something else.
Linguine With Beef Meatballs Pomodoro and Cheesy Corn with Fries. It is indeed a complete hearty sharing platter suited for 2 persons. Grilled to a nice char while still retaining the moist and tender texture of the meat.
Beef Wellington is a popular dish, a perfect Yuletide meal for some gastronomic treats with family or friends. Some like it on its own or with the truffle mushroom sauce for added flavours The dish has a soft and chewy texture with a bit of crunch from the puff pastry encasing the meat. You may also need to inform the chef for your choice of the perfect level of doneness - be it in rare, medium or well-done to your liking and to get the best flavours from the meat!
Jigger & Shaker Seremban
During my visit, i tried their thin crusted 10" pizza dough which is topped with napoli tomato paste, swiss gouda mozzarella cheese, oregano herbs, parsley, basil leaves or rockets and topping of smoked salmon, olive and onion. This pizza is tasty with its crunchy thin layer of dough. It is enough to fill up your tummy without making you feel bloated.
Teriyaki Chicken and Sesame Pasta was probably the best scorer of the day but it was a misnomer. We were expecting a dry Pasta with Teriyaki sauce as seasoning but it was in fact, a cream-based Pasta topped with Teriyaki Chicken. The sauce was alright- creamy and perfectly seasoned but the Linguine was slightly overcooked (a little too soft to our liking).
Another best brekkie specialty is the Grill Salmon & Scrambled Egg. A surprise indeed as its visual does not prepare one’s guests for the fish dish. The marinated salmon rolled into the shape of sausage goes through a grilling cooking process, and served with scrambled egg on top of a slice of wholemeal baguette. A tasty Hollandaise sauce prepared from egg yolks accompanies it well.
Hyderabad Lamb RM39, from the Indian cuisine section that SOULed OUT Ampang always take prides in. They have a Tandoor Oven originates from the Middle East. Now with #ChillGrill, they use the age-old cooking methos to serve up succulent skewered meats. Whole lamb shank, slow-braised till deeply flavoured up with gravy seasoned with lots of spices. Rich and hearty main, best to go with freshly made warmth kulcha – a type of Indian flatbread.
Verdict: SOULed OUT’s menu definitely has something for everyone, Western, Asian, Indian, vegetarian or even local hawker delights as well as meals for the little ones. This place is great to cater those who are looking for a place to hang out after work or for some sports action. It is hot enough for one to let down their hair on a Friday night and cool enough to saunter in with the family for the weekends.
Bangers & Mash RM 19 It is a traditional dish of Great Britain, fatty smoked chicken sausages with creamy garlic mash and baby peas, the ultimate comfort food that paired perfectly with ale.
Reasons to visit The Eighth Avenue Publika: fantastic new cocktail menu; must try The Yum List, Beachside Daiquiri and the Wild Child; a well-balanced menu offering a good range of healthy vegetarian all the way up to decadent porkiness; must-order the spinach salad, pork satay, BBQ ribs and carrot cake.
With the concept of gastro bar, The Eighth Avenue is serving your favourite booze with a twist of authentic creations and a fusion mix.
It’s a great place for drinks and to settle down on some comfort food. Whether you favour beer, wine or serious cocktails, a beer-and-shot special or a transporting glass of wine, Eighth Avenue has a game-changing bar to slake your thirst.
Here's the location.
We were shocked but delighted to see the gigantic portion of this Caveman Platter which should be able to feed 3 to 5 person well. The Platter comes with 2 Chicken Sausages, 2 Pepper Lamb Sausages, 4 Chicken Kebabs, 4 Chicken Wings, as well as some Char-Grilled Lamb. Both the sausages were well-executed and delicious so does the Kebab.
Coffee Jelly 这是 No Eyed Deer 最著名的甜品。 我觉得还不错,因为我很喜欢喝咖啡。
Duck Leg Confit RM55 Seasoned and cured the duck legs then slow-cooked it in its own fat until it's meltingly tender, accompanied by smoked spicy chicken sausage & cannellini cassoulet with spicy beetroot chutney. That fork-tender, moist-as-all-get-out duck with the crispiest, crunchiest skin really brightened up my day!
Roast Pork Loin, 200g RM46.00 Roast Pork Loin, 200g was our random order, ended up becoming the best dish among the rest we had. Juicy, meaty pork tenderloin with extra crunchy, roasted to golden brown skin, dressed in brown pork jus with a side of Yorkshire pudding, duck fat potatoes, roasted vegetables and homemade apple sauce. So good you gotta try this out!
And if soft and moist tickles your fancy, the French BKT (RM 88++) puts up an entire pork knuckle stew. It is infused with honey and sage and lovingly simmered in beef stock with granny Smith apples. There is nothing BKT here except the resemblance at one glance. But served with sides of deep fried flower roll buns (4 pcs per serving), this dish earned applause with the soft knuckle meat that’ll beautifully tear up with very little effort to reveal that fresh pink on the inside. If you are ready for the porky lunar this year, this menu is exclusively available for a limited time starting from 10th Jan 2017 to 11 Feb 2017. Take note that these are available for special lunar take away orders with a minimum of 48 hours notice.
Both dishes ordered were recommended, crowd favorites. The Cordon Bleu was well plated, I liked how it was presented. Tasted good too. The dish consisted of 5 pieces of chicken that was wrapped in cheese. Then, once breaded the ones here are pan fried and then tossed in the oven. I dig the texture, crispy on the outside, chewy and dense on the inside, flavorful too. The chicken was served on a bed of salad, some mushroom, tomatoes, salsa, greens. A tasty dish indeed.

Canard a l’Orange, RM 42 This French classic main course stunned us with how brilliant and vibrant the combination of flavors were. It simply consists of French roast duck, orange sauce and sides of salad. Naturally one of the trickiest things was to ace the orange sauce so its acidity doesn’t overpower the whole dish. Luckily for Terrasse Cafe&Bistro, they nailed it in terms of taste, presentation and the juiciness of the duck. The sauce and meat pairs well together. The roast duck was generous in portion and tender for most part. Can be shared with 2 people.
Peach, please! Peach Strudel here at Kenny Hills Bakers is our favourite! Crispy pastry with decadent cream and fresh peach. So yums!
Reasons to visit: relaxing neighbourhood vibe; craft beers; easy parking; our favourite dishes were Salted Egg Yolk Calamari, Penne Pesto, Seafood Aglio Olio, Hong Kong Roast Duck and do not miss the Salted Caramel Chocolate Tart!
Raisin Pork Roulade (RM 32) is pretty good, crispy skin and juicy meat. Really soft mash potato, nice sauce and some cranberries for extra flavour. Spicy Mediterranean Chicken Chop (RM 21.90) is..
We enjoyed our light lunch at Bistro Monologue. While I wouldn’t call the food mind blowing, everything tastes fresh and homemade, service is friendly, and the environment is cozy. Prices are slightly above average, though, so probably not a lunch spot I’d go to often.
In here, one must have is their Giant Pork Knuckle. The pork knuckle which is cooked for 3 hours and then being deep fried till perfection. They are then served with the black pepper sauce, baby potatoes, bacon sauerkraut, and grilled vegetables.
Weissbrau is clearly Saturday worthy as this is our second time returning and Mark has begun calling it our “go-to Pavilion place.” It’s not cheap, but you’re going to be spending at least that much at any of the fine dining restaurants at Pavilion Mall. At least at Weissbrau, you’re sure to get a large amount of good food that will fill you up. It’s not the best German eatery in KL nor do they have the most authentic menu, but in a super touristy location like Pavilion KL, this place could be a lot worse… or should I say wurst?

Specialising in Asian fusion cuisine, some of the top dishes served here are the Foie Gras Heaven (sushi topped with foie gras) and the Deep Sea Konbu Pasta (Pasta-Italian, Konbu Japanese).
Overall, Nippori Bistro serve great food and the environment is comfortable.
Overall, this is a great place to hangout with friends after work. There are plenty of parking slots available here during Saturday brunch hours.
想要来点特别的早午餐,可以到Queensbay Mall附近的Bay Avenue里的Vino Vino
Vino Vino Bistro’s Saturday Free Flow Champagne Brunch is available only on every first Saturday of the month, from 11.30am to 2pm. Priced at only RM180++ per person, it is a bubbly way to while away a Saturday with friends and family.
整体来说我还蛮喜欢这里的食物的,说来说去我还是介意那个价钱,久久一次我们就盖眼睛和耳朵算了。
Looking through the one-page menu, I decided on the lobster roll at MYR42++ (10% service charge and 6% SST = MYR 48.72 nett) I like that I can detect chunks of lobster meat in the roll. The mayonnaise sauce tastes creamy and well seasoned with salt and pepper. As I usually don't eat mayonnaise, I guess I am not used to eating flavourful food because after this meal, I was very, very thirsty the whole day and drank many glasses of water to try to quench my thirst but this won't hold me back from trying lobster rolls at other places. I don't think we will be back here for our regular lunch unless it is for a celebration because the prices here are on the higher end as befitting this kind of place.
对于上班族来说,这是一个不错的午餐选择,虽然没什么特色,但胜在价格亲民,环境也不错。
Verdict: The Brew is a nice and relaxing restaurant & bistro specializing in a variety of porky dishes. The place has a nice and relaxing atmosphere to chill with your friends over beer and they also serve a selection of alcoholic drinks, juices, coffee and tea.
My favourite dish of the night, Kake Udon (RM21), a hearty broth with udon, and that every important runny egg. Definitely I'd reorder this.
Lamb Kalabi (RM24) Fusion at its best with keema style spiced lamb and mozzarella meeting on a pizza dough.
