Overall the food is just so so. Most of the people are here just for the quantity. Not the quality. If it hits long weekend, this place is like a warzone. Everything have to fight for it. Fight for table, fight for dim sum. Crazy!
Here's the location.
If there is a particular food that leaves us the most impression, it would be their Teochew Fried Noodle. It is not listed on the menu but once you ask the crew, they will tell you whether it is available. Noodles were fried to al-dente and seasoned nicely.
We were really pleased with our discovery of Seow Fong Lye Cafe. While Ming thought the two dishes were slightly better than average, Max thoroughly enjoyed both the CCF and Char Koay Kak dishes here. While
其实就是一般的咖啡店早餐,不太差,也没有说非常好吃。嘻嘻。
Price is not expensive, it is reasonable and the environment is just so local .. !
Salted Chicken is one of the dishes that make my mouth water. The savoring and the juicy chicken meat are delicious and yummy. For my personal preference, I love the herb's salted chicken. There are also dishes available here for those that looking for lunch or dinner.
Make your choice from the two different varieties – original flavor (RM32) or the herb flavor (RM32). The flesh of the chicken is very tender and is tasty with its natural flavors and touches of salt.
This place is famous with seafood and Asian's style cooking. Located at Macalister Road of Penang where are are a lot of good food surrounding. Reasonable pricing and delicisious cooking, this place suitable for family dining
Our favorite dish of the day was Stir Fried Egg with mock Shark's Fin... the Egg was nicely done with a firm and meaty texture, fresh Crab meat was also introduced to the dish for a touch of Seafood sweetness.
A comforting bowl of Fish Head Bee Hoon is always desirable, especially on a chilly rainy day. If you are into the soupy fish delicacy, look no further than Tong Lek 8 Cafe at Macalister Road (opposite Guang Ming Daily Office). Meal times can be less-stressing as the fish head noodle-specialist offers a vast selection of fish-related noodle dishes as well as some sides at very affordable prices. The regulars love their fresh, thickly sliced fish as well as the add-ons (such as Pork Innards, Seafood etc). Though the seats are narrowly-arranged, the fully air-conditioned restaurant is a decent place to stop by for a quick meal.
We had their Signature Chicken Claypot steamboat, a big whole pot of chicken packed with shallots, and gingers. Besides the continuous heat supplied to the pot, the gingers had warmed us so much that we basically sweat like shower. The soup was rich and nicely seasoned, but it is much suitable for those prefer bolder flavours. However, their service was great by constantly dropping by to check and top up the soup. We wishes the chicken could be much meaty, but equal proportionate of the green versus the chicken is an added point.
The plate of flat noodle is fried to possess decent char scent (wok hei), and you can request for a luxury version of Char Koay Teow served with big prawns and mantis prawns for RM 10 per plate. It is mild greasy which makes this plate of Char Koay Teow delicious.
Most of the food here are good and the price is reasonable too. For those that want to try out different type of Penang Street Food, this would be one of the good selection.
The stalls here include Wantan Mee, Hokkien Mee, Koay Teow Thng, Char Koay Teow and Chicken Rice. Most of the food here are good and the price is reasonable too. For those that want to try out different type of Penang Street Food, this would be one of the good selection.
