Flavours were sweet and clear in most of the dishes, as what Hongkong-style does: allowing the natural goodness of ingredients to shine. With wellness very much in mind, the dishes are well executed with minimal use of oil and hard flavouring
Healthier mooncake selections include Snow Skin Shiro Umeboshi With Green Tea Paste and Baked Bamboo Charcoal Paste With Salted Egg Yolk would go well with the health-conscious customers.
Durian lovers can indulge in the second offering which is the Snow Skin Durian Paste With Truffle
Steamed Cod with Chinese Ham Served with Honey and Supreme Stock Paste The generous portion of the cod comes perfectly good to our tastebuds. The cod is perfectly steamed together with the Chinese Ham bringing you the aromatic flavours . The dish is just awesomely good where the fish remains its flaky texture but the flavours are enhanced by the Chinese Ham as well as Supreme Stock Paste.
There will be three set menus available, from now until 19 February 2019, priced at RM188 nett per person for a minimum of four persons and range from RM 1,888 nett, RM 2,888 nett and RM 3,888 nett per table of ten for a 9-course set meal.
Another popular item at Lai Ching Yuen is the Claypot Pork Belly With Salted Fish, where pork belly is cooked in high heat with ginger, a generous amount of scallions and red onion for a bit of texture. The pork belly slices were juicy and came with enough fat for flavour. Since it was cooked with salted fish, this dish can be a bit one-dimensional in terms flavour—salty, therefore it is best to tone down the saltiness by pairing it with a bowl of white rice.
Lai Ching Yuen is one of the very few top notch Cantonese restaurants in Kuala Lumpur that serves high quality all-you-can-eat dim sum. With over 50 types of handcrafted delights and an affordable price tag of RM74 per pax, Lai Ching Yuen’s ala-carte all-you-can-eat dim sum is a steal.
The Signature Hokkien Mee, 14.20 ringgit was delicious. It was packed with pork meat and lard. Literally filled with it and real greasy – the criterias to a good hokkien mee, lol. Yum Yum!
A must to try and they are absolutely my favourite. The Japanese Bean Curd is being deep fried till perfection with the crispy at the outside texture and the inside brings you with the melts in the mouth sensation. They are indeed superb and every mouthful is delectably delicious!
The main dish from this menu, that we ordered is the Pomfret Steamed with Sour Plums, Tomatoes and Preserved Vegetable This dish is best eaten with rice as the sauce was just done to perfection.
The chee cheong fun with prawns (RM14) was silky smooth
What do We Like about Dai Cha Dim, Pavillion KL? -The many variety of foods selection -The foods were tasty
Asides from that, I ordered the Steam rice which is the Steamed Minced Meat with Salted Fish. It is such a comfort dish to go for and I love it so much too.
The Beef Brisket Noodle Soup was decent... though a little too greasy to our liking, the broth carried the right seasoning and come with an in-depth meaty flavor. On the meat, we were served a mix of perfectly cooked, tender tendons and beef briskets. A pity that the serving portion was a little small.
My Personal Opinion After striking out twice with Hong Kong-style cuisine in Starz Kitchen and then HK Boy Cart Noodles, it was third time lucky and a relief to finally find Hong Kong-inspired food that I (at least) enjoyed. The prawn wontons, both the fried and soup version, are what you need to get here. The dry prawn roe noodles was the other surprise favourite but the luncheon meat rice was what I enjoyed the most. It's funny that I came here primarily to try their authentic wonton noodles (which is still more than satisfying) but leave raving about their premium quality luncheon meat and double egg rice. If I can only have one dish here, it'll be this one. Each time I'm in Pavilion now, I'm thinking of having it. ^_^
Mak's Chee serves the beef with very thin noodle, the sauce is definilty not as good as those I tasted in HK;
In conjunction with the opening of its second outlet, Mak’s Chee now is gladly introducing a new, delectable and authentic limited time promotional dish - Swiss Chicken Leg, to tantalize the busy working professionals, tourists, and families alike.
Situated at the heart of the trendy Bukit Bintang district lies the perfect reason to indulge not only in finest fashion, urban leisure but also gourmet indulgence such as Simmer Huang- the very first imperial Chinese culinary, nutritiously prepared and enjoy with your favourite spread of meat and seafood, stacked up in few layers before steamed in signature sauce. No complex cooking is involved but only traditional steaming, as that would lock in the moisture and essence of these ingredients.
Desserts in Simmer Huang is much better than expected, as they carry sweet treats from Hui Lan Shan, the famous mango dessert chain from Hong Kong. We went straight to Mango Feast, a platter that put together 3 types of mango dessert. Ice cream with mango is the best!
My friend selected the tomato broth and I selected the milk broth though I cannot taste the milk in the broth, more like herbal soup though the colour of the broth is milky white.
Worth the Visit? Yes! for us. As we’ve not step foot in any Haidilao before, we can’t make any comparisons. But in terms of satisfaction when it comes to great service, ambiance & food quality, we’re happy with all of them. Well, maybe not the waiting part so we will definitely go earlier like this time if we were to revisit!
Smoked Salmon Yee Sang (RM68 Small, RM108 Big) Abalone Yee Sang (RM128 Small, RM238 Big)
Although I'm glad that the standard of the food has been maintained, the service from the kitchen was far from smooth. The waiting period for our food leaves much to be desired and, if you want to eat here, do not expect your food to arrive in the right order that it should be. It all depends on how busy each individual food station is (steaming station, noodles station, frying station, etc.) with their orders as they seem to churn out food independent of each other. I guess if you choose your timing wisely (like during non lesser peak times), hopefully you may end up with a much better dining experience. ^_* But having said that, the food is still good, some decent but mostly good...plus it still serves one of my favourite XLBs. The only downside, their prices seem to have risen quite significantly but their portions still remain small...even a vegetable dish of pea shoots ("tau miew") can cost RM26....haiz!
Overall a pleasant experience here with hits that may make me return for.
HoMinSan is yet another venture of Dragon-i where the F&B now has 4 signature brands: Dragon-i, Dragon-i Peking Duck, Canton-i, and HoMinSan!
Growing up in a small town that is near to Sitiawan Perak, Summergirl get introduced to Fook Chow food since she was young. Fook Chow Guang Bing, Ang Jiu Mi Sua, Hock Chew Fish Balls, Hock Chew Peanut Soup – these are all her favourite Hock Chew dishes.
Luckily and it was a blessing that i was invited to try Hock Kee's signature Red Wine Mee Suah located in Lot 10 Hutong. Hock Kee is a Hock Chew cuisine that serves authentic Hock Chew food that consist of noodles a.k.a mee suah, rice and dessert.
Dining at EMP KL promises to be a gastronomic journey that will delight the senses.
So recently for Christmas eve, I took myself to the newly opened fusion contemporary pork- free Chinese restaurant at EMP KL and believe me it was so worth it as it was truly a treat for the senses….
All in all, this place served pretty mediocre yet overpriced dim sum. It was a great place to hop into should you get attacked by a sudden dim sum crave while you're shopping, but I wouldn't travel all the way just to eat them.
The Macau Pork Burger is such a good example of "real porky business" in a meal
We paid a visit to the new stall that has garnered quite a storming rush of porky fans since its launch not too long ago. We like how Porco Macau Pork Chop Bun stayed minimal with its offering, choosing to focus on what they know best and that is their signature secret recipe of pork chops served several ways.
Rejoice! Now we can enjoy the famous Macau Pork Chop Bun in town. Introducing Porco Macau Pork Chop Bun, the latest addition to Lot 10 Hutong, the Platinum Award Winner of KL Mayor's Tourism Awards.
Village Roast Duck at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur (鄉村燒鴨) never disappoint us with their delicious roasted fares, be it roast pork, char siew, roast duck or soy sauce chicken. Since we normally visit in two, we only have trio wantan mee or trio rice, but always feel so tempted to try out sharing dishes when looking at food from tables dining in group
What do We Like about Tai Er Suan Cai & Fish? -The suan cai fish – the soup was good -The roselle and dried orange skin tea. Surprisingly perfect combination
Definitely very nice Wan Ton Mee, both the ChaSiew, Roasted Pork, as well as the Prawn WonTon were nice
What I love is the meat is tender and moist. Soup is fragrantly done with the right amount of soup to pair with it. No matter which part of the meat you love; they will sure be one to serve you. And some of the signatures includes the Small Fat Bone, Bend and Three Layer Meat. These are also their best-sellers. For those who loves internal organs; they have the intestines as well. Slurppps….
Chili Crab Wonderful spicy with a nice hint of sweetness, the superb fresh mud crab was absolutely delicious. Highly recommended!
Chilli Crab 辣椒蟹 Market Price [Recommended] Chilli crab hits all the right spots with tangy gravy that seeps into the succulent flesh of the stir-fried crab, served with the shell on, and best to paired with Hainan toast. This dish consists of fresh crabs cooked in a sweet, savoury and spicy gravy, it is a real treat and best eaten with your hands! Too bad that i have allergy in crab, but don't care! i eat Hainan toast by dipping the tangy gravy because it is too tempting LOL!
