My eyes lit up the moment I had a spoonful. The chicken is so tender that its meatiness didn’t get to me, a fussy eater. I usually don’t like meaty chicken because the marinate doesn’t seep into the inner part of the meat, so it comes off bland and dry. Not this one. The char siew was the-right-amount charred on the outside, tender on the inside, and it freaking melts in the mouth! What is this magic?! Even the char siew from Village Roast Duck (relatively pricier restaurant) is hard and unenjoyable... I do love their duck meat and crispy pork though. The char siew chunks were thicker than my liking, but because it was so soft and I must say this again, melts in the mouth, I didn’t mind the thickness at all. Aside from the sweet glaze it was marinated with, the uncle will finish off the presentation with more sweet sauce poured onto the char siew. It’s not too sweet, but sweet enough that when mixed with the flavourful rice, it becomes addictive.
Overall, for me; this is a WanTon Mee stall which is a possible re-visit in the future.
Broth is not too coconuty nor oily and a small plate of extra sambal is provided. Great stuff, although 滑鸡 Chicken would have been perfect (Chicken floss was the replacement)!
At rm$6 for a bowl of soup hor fun with generous slices or not too bad charsiew, nothing to complain, its a likable breakfast choice.
estoran Choon Yien is quite famous among locals for its lunch time offerings of above average 叉烧 Charsiew, 烧肉 Roasted Pork, and 脆皮鸡 Crispy skin Chickens;
Verdict: Decent chicken rice but be prepared to wait during lunch hour.
Verdict: The wantan mee is handmade and cooked to order. It is really quite delicious. Go try.
If you want to g...
Wah Cheong Kopitiam" offers 12+ hawkers stalls, 1st visit here was just 2 days ago for the Chee Cheong Fun. Not many stalls are ready at 6am although many stalls have started preparation for the day, definitely some stalls are ready by 7am.
opens early, non-Halal, outdoor seating, no air-conditioning, 12 stalls
Barbecue Pork and Chicken Rice RM6.00 There's a more popular chicken rice at the other end of the row of shops - 黃記雞飯. It had a very long queue and my friend told me that it's usually like that.

So... this is the mak chap bai kuat - or 'pork' ribs. Hehehe... the 'bone' is made of sugarcane. LOL.
Overall, the vegetarian they serve really not bad and all "meat" very taste alike especially the squid in the claypot tofu. Rating: 7 /10
Really good Chinese dessert stall, affordable price, big portion full of ingredients, and taste good.
Kedai Kopi Lucky Seng is a corner Kopitiam shop lot; besides the Wanton Mee stall, the Yong Tao Foo Chee Cheong Fun stall seems to be popular breakfast choice today
And the star of our main dish, the ckt. Superb. The wok hei was there, nuff said. This is one mean dish of a ckt. Although it was the helper cooking it, now it makes me wonder, does Robert do it better or the helper. Guess I have to come back and check it out.
Verdict: My favourite spot for char kuay teow in Klang Valley.
The Kopitam offers 板面 Pan Mee, 粥 Porridge, 粿条湯 Koay Teow Soup, 蝦麵 Har Mee, 豬肉粉 Pork Noodle; and I think mixed rice for lunch; also Dai Chao at night! 7:30am or later maybe a better time to come to the kopitiam where all the hawker stalls should be ready by then.
Restoran Kim Seng is known to give big portions on their meals. So as you can see from my picture, the Wat Tan Hor is very large in portion compared to other restaurants. However, their Wat Tan Hor lacks gravy and not like how other restaurant serves it - swimming in gravy. Nonetheless, it was very tasty and certainly very easy for me to finish off the whole thing. I can see that they're really generous with the Cili Padi as well. Loads of em on the tiny condiment dish but very little on the soy sauce.
My favourite here is the Kailan Siew Yoke Farn (Chinese Kale with Roasted Pork). The Crackling is superb, and since the pork and kailan are stir fried together in a wok with loads of garlic, shalots and some special sauce, the resulting concoction is irresistibly tasty. They dump this on top of rice and the sauce just oozes all over the place, and is absorbed by the rice. It is impossibly not to wolf down this meal in 10 minutes flat. And it is a pretty huge meal at that. Best part is, it is only RM5.50. Insanely cheap.
The kopitiam makes an excellent toast with Pandan Kaya and butter, best to go with thick Kopi and half-boiled egg.
Ooooo man, that butter chicken was yummy! It was milky, buttery, sweet – totally the kind of dish that would go well with the Mee Hoon, it add a lot of flavor. I can see why this dish is a crowd favorite. I loved it.
It was a very decent bowl. We recommend the Poached Kampung Chicken, Hor Fun and Ipoh White Coffee.
All in, we think Mr Lim still serves one of the better CKTs in PJ/KL.
Lapan Wellness Cafe also offers Tea ceremony for rm$45 per session prepared by a "Zen Tea Master" and only by appointment on specific days of the week!
Same as their previous establishment, they focus mainly on nutritious dishes, as well as their specialties gluten-free sour dough. Generally we were quite pleased with the food, just that they were on the slight salty side. It will be perfect if they can lessen that to match the healthy concept.
The prawn mee tastes good, just that short of the wok hei, it can be stronger. The gravy and sambal are good too. Overall a good plate of mee with lot of seafoods in it.
Overall, the space is immaculately clean and we enjoyed the Hokkien mee. They are opening a branch in SS15 Subang Jaya soon – so look out for it!
As for the noodles – it was tasty with sufficient wok hei, although we noted a hint of alkaline taste from the yellow noodles (but not enough to deter us from enjoying the dish). The gravy was rich in flavour as it was cooked for hours with prawns, pork bones, chicken and other seasonings.
Hometown Fried Ban Mian, 10.90 ringgit Whenever you eat Fried Kuay Teow, there slightly burned/ charred taste, that makes it even more appealing when executed correctly, right?? Yea, that same appealing taste is evident here. Then, imagine them fried noodles having achieved an equilibrium between dry and wetness, add egg and minced pork meat. Yup, I was salivating all through the meal. It really was delicious.
The new "Hometown Ban Mian" at Seventeen Mall offers a variety of interesting choices of Pan Mee; 10 types of soup Pan Mee and 4 types of fried Pan Mee as well as variety of Soups as well.
After the experience of being too full after eating a main meal and tong sui dessert for lunch, I just ate tong sui this time. Just one bowl of green beans or mung beans sweet soup dessert for my lunch at MYR 3 nett. Delicious and filling!
I unroll two leaves of napa cabbage wrapping a bit of fish paste. Very tasty.
The moment you tear the fried chicken apart, you know you are in for something special. The thin, crispy skin shatters like glass and melts away in your mouth – no kidding! Seasoning is also kept minimum so you’d be tasting the chicken’s fresh and natural flavor more than anything else.
