Was not disappointed with Food Foundry and certainly eager to check-out its sister operation "Butter + Beans at 17" as well as "Feeka Coffee" by Asian Age Group, the earlier in Happy Mansion as well and later in KL.
Seabass - MYR 26+ (6% GST = MYR 27.56 nett) at Food Foundry, Happy Mansion, PJ. The portion is just right for me.
Overall, nice place to hang out makan dan borak borak. Tapi jangan kuat sangat, nanti orang pandang !
What do We Like about Fluffed Cafe & Dessert Bar? -Huge variety of shortcake and cloudcake -Cafe with good vibe

Strawberry waffle at MYR 22 nett. Needs a few friends to share this waffle because the strawberry sauce and ice cream is too sweet for one person.
Pretty good, no complaints about the food. This place is fairly crowded, so can't stay long and have some minimum orders.
My favorite is definitely their Signature Iron Lady Milk Tea Kakigori. The earthy flavor of tie guan yin tea pairs surprisingly well with milk and the chewy tapioca pearls, yam mochi and sweet potato mochi are just the right amount of 'QQ'. The chewy trio are all flavorful individually and the brown sugar syrup is surprisingly not too sweet.
Ambiance: 6/10 Price: 6/10 Food: 6.5/10 (pork-free) Verdict: Definitely a spot to consider if you’re into shaved ice desserts. Try the Iron Lady Milk Tea and Classic Grass Jelly.
What do We Like about Xiao by Crustz, SS 2? -The aesthetically designed interior with live plant and wooden furniture -The uniquely crafted pastries and cakes
Miso, 17 ringgit This was yummmmmm 🙂 Having Miso was like having a Magnum ice cream. There is the usual Paddle Pop, Cornetto and then … there is Magnum. Yea, this was like having a Magnum.
So there you go, finally I fixed my mind on La Vie En Rose (MYR 17) despite I really wish to have another morsel along, but then worried can’t finish it as the tummy had just been carbo-loaded 5 minutes ago. A dainty rhapsody composed on the notes of lychee, raspberry rose chantilly, pastry cream, raspberry jam and sable breton. Indeed very catchy and boldly alluring especially with that red petal crowning on top and pate a choux dough filled up with velvet custard.
A Pie Thing is your answer to savoury and sweet pies in Petaling Jaya. This OG pie shop serves beef, chicken, lamb, and veggie pies, and the best Lemon Curd pie in town.
Taste:8/10(Good. I satisfied with the taste of the chicken mushroom pie here however I think they can still improve on the taste of the crust).
The Mashacre version consists of mashed Potatoes, Sweet Peas and laden with smooth, luscious gravy. The choice of our Pie was Chicken Masala... carefully cooked and seasoned Chicken Masala filling encased in a flaky, buttery pastry skin. We were worried if the combination would turn out to be overly salty but to our surprise, it was well-seasoned on the dot. We thought it was very filling but had to leave some space for their sweet varieties
A more than satisfactory meal at "Jam & Kaya" today. Will be back soon for another Pancake brunch, maybe the next visit will be for the the Cafe's 2 other Signature offerings which are the sweet "Jam & Kaya's Pancake" and the "Hot Chocolate with Choco Balls"!
We like that the kaya and fruity jam were not overtly sweet. In fact, the kaya jam has a lighter green hue as they are made from freshly made pandan. The strawberries were not sour too – which is a plus in our books. We literally demolished the pancake stack in 5 minutes!
总而言之,Jam&Kaya有可能成为公司的最爱,超越其相对隐蔽的位置并避免提前宣传。
Rum and raisins cheese cake of Rekindle is the reason we keep going back for more 🙂 Ever since discovering and trying out their alcoholic cake in Rekindle, we regularly went back for their cake (especially the alcoholic one) and for the ambience, but too bad we are unable to dine in for the moment.
Rekindle SS2 comes in mind for most residents of PJ who lives near SS2 or the surroundings, probably because of its cosy ambience and most importantly, myriad of cakes there with unique flavours like even alcohol inside which are reasonably-priced.
This is a nice little cafe with cozy seating areas inside and interestingly coverted "sewing machines" as coffee tables in the outdoor seating area.
It is a nice place, well-kept and has good architectural design and layout.
Yummy Duck & Eggs (RM 24) This is ultra flavorful shredded duck with baby spinach on a baguette, topped with two poached eggs. The sauce they use is reminiscent of braised duck and it’s very good. I love the addition of raw spinach too, the earthy notes complement the dish well. The orange segment on top was gold! It actually adds a lot to the dish. The portion was slightly small but it turned out to be enough.
I ordered latte since my friend, Nicholas ordered mocha. I was a little disappointed with the coffee art. Taste wise can be improved.
The noodle was okay but the tom yum flavor was rather mild – as in, you can hardly taste it. If I were to close my eyes and taste it, tom yum mee hoon would not be the first thing I’d say to describe it. That being said, as a basic dish of noodles, it was pretty nice, worth the RM 3.50, I suppose.
除了 Cendol 和 Ice Kacang,店里还有各式各样的糕点和面包,Gula Melaka 戚风蛋糕软绵绵的,也很受欢迎,如果还未卖光不妨试一下,让它成为你这个下午吃冰的总结。
For folks in PJ, Kwong Wah Ais Kacang at Happy Mansion serves up a good version of cendol that hits the spot squarely. A bowl will set you back RM 5.50, and there’s often a queue on hot weekend afternoon. But if you love cendol the way I do, this should satisfy.
IDC offers a comfortable and cozy setting for those who like a quite place for Ice Cream and Coffee.
Have you ever been to IDC or Ice Dreams Cafe in Damansara Kim, Selangor? They’re known for serving various Kapiti ice cream flavours as well as delicious han...
The Ice Latte was awesome here. It was thick, milky and ‘kaw’ and by ‘kaw’ I mean – strong. It hits you on all the right spots. Loved it.
If you're a person who likes soya beans, you can pay Soylab 帅不离 a visit.
Tasty but premium soy based dessert, could get crowded after weekend dinner.
We were further blown away by the Signature Soyffle; though it required a 30-minute wait, we thought the wait was worth while. The Souffle Pancake was extremely light and fluffy; good on its own but even better (or richer) to enjoy with Soya Soft Serve (and a little bit of Honey).
A must-visit café if you’re looking for a cool place to take pictures with your friends and also if you’re a fan of waffles, cakes, and coffee! This is also a great place for you if you are looking for a comfortable environment with relaxing music to calm your mind!
This is definitely one Cafe I can be at as an alternative to Co-Working spaces.
That cake though …. da bomb!! I mean, it sure was finger licking good. If you are a fan of ‘pandan’ – you’d certainly love this. Before the cake even reaches your table, you would be able to smell the tempting, distinct aroma of the pandan. Then, when it finally arrives at your table, digging into it and savoring it… yuuuuuummmmmm. I was instantly in love. The taste of ‘Gula Melaka” was evident too. Unlike cakes at most other cafes, whereby the gula melaka is often just a sprinkle/drizzle on the top, here, it comes with a generous layer. The cake itself, over all, was soft and moist. The grated coconut on the top was an excellent addition as it provided a difference in texture. I’d certainly give this cake a go again.
Serve the best toast with ice-cream.
8.5/10. Personally, a little bit steep in price, but I absolutely love it! The taste of the desserts always keeps me coming back for more. To be honest, I’m always shocked by how good that Matcha lava cake is, and the toast NEVER disappoints!
Miru's Strawberry Cheesecake Kakigori was impressive... the ice was silky smooth and fine while the Strawberry 'syrup' was carefully sweetened. It did not feel very 'artificial' and we trust real Strawberries have been used in the making of the 'syrup'. Just as you dig further and getting monotonous on the 'syrup' and 'shave ice' combo, there will be cubed Cheese Cake to further entice you. Though not exactly the best Cheese Cake, it provides a good bite and a fine touch to the icy treat.
Haven't came here for quite a while, one of the popular options for supper in SS2. Service is okay, but taste wise is slightly disappointing.
The shop offers a good variety of Chinese food from 飯粥面 Rice, Porridge and Noodles dishes, varieties of 蒸點和炸點 Steam and Fried Snacks, as well as 糖水 Tong Shui (traditional and contemporary desserts).
Being a dessert hot spot, and surprisingly, a very popular date spot too, KTZ gets very busy after dinner hours.
After a satisfying dinner at Super Big Don House, we dropped by Softsrve for dessert
Fun Fair (RM12), with oolongcha flavoured soft serve. We weren't really expecting the dry ice smoking effects as I thought that it was only for bestsellers. It was cool though, and the popping candy really gave it the extra tingle.
Something a little more solid would be the Crispy and Fluffy Waffle (RM 15) which by the way isn’t the best waffle ever but managed to redeemed its reputation with none other than their soft serve and sauce of your choice (in this case is match sauce since WendLi , the matcha queen is one of the partner in crime this time around). This one is served with chopped nuts and berries.
The President (RM 21.80) For chicken lover, you can go for The President. The president is served with the roasted chicken, mozzarella cheese, French garlic sauce, caramelized onions and the roasted cherry tomato. The taste is just awesome with the delighting and aromatic flavours, tender chicken meat with the creamy and fragrant mozzarella cheese and the garlic sauce. Yummy!
A meat lover's dream, the Wagyu Steak Out (RM36.80) is a must-try! A 100g Wagyu steak, perfectly cooked to medium rare doneness, is complimented beautifully with mozzarella cheese, mustard BBQ sauce, pickled cabbage, caramelised onions, roasted tomato and garden greens. This time, we had it with the sourdough bread, which was excellent too.
It was delicious. Mr Baa Baa is made up of Grilled NZ Lamb + Mustard BBQ + Mozzarella + Pickled Cabbage + Garlic Aioli + Mint Leaves + Cranberry Jam. In terms of the bagels itself, there are 5 types you can choose from – Plain, Seeded, All Sorts. Salt and Pumpkin. I opted for the Pumpkin bagel, just for the heck of it. It was yummy, filling and wholesome. It was like munching on a really fat sandwich. Just to get a bite on the whole thing (all layers in one go), it would entail you to stretch your mouth to the maximum. The blend of flavors was nice. I’d never put lamb and cranberry in the same equation, but it works. The distinct flavor from the meat, mozzarella and mustard sauce was made better with the addition of sweetness from cranberry jam. It sneaks up on you. Loved it.
Eventually, we opted to try one of the dessert on display, specifically Lucky Koi. The combination of ingredients in this specific dessert (oolong rice ice cream + peach sorbet + goji berry muesli crunch + lychee glaze) was appealing and yummy. There was a burst of flavors and textures – the tanginess from the berries, the crunch from the muesli and the unique sweetness from the creamy ice cream. We enjoyed it.
Overall, it's a really cool dessert place.
Top-notch, one of the best ice cream I had in 2019. "Delicieux" in French!
The value meal set is too good to bypass so I ordered a bowl of wanton noodles soup with a glass of iced honey chrysanthemum drink from the set menu. This set included a char siew bao and the total price is MYR 15.90+ (10% service charge = MYR 17.50 nett). As usual I kept half portion of the noodles and the whole bao for dinner.
Hong Kong Sheng Kee Dessert Restaurant could be a place for a quick meal to refuel you during lunch time. Currently having four outlets in Kuala Lumpur.
Overall, the food we had was enjoyable and reasonably priced for the portion you get. Frankly speaking, I had my reservations before coming here due to the reviews I read on their FB page. But as it turned out, almost everything was more than satisfying and even exceeded my expectations for a chain restaurant. My dining partners, some of them who had eaten at Sheng Kee a couple of times before this, also agreed that the meal experience we had was better than what they had previously.
【#Enjoy八打灵 隐蔽的咖啡店】被提名Time Out KL Food & Drink Awards 2011 和2012 年最棒的咖啡店, 【Whisk Outpost】在 1 Utama Shopping Centre的地点是相当 隐蔽;所以今天要介绍给大家。
My girlfriend super excited, she been telling me cakes are awesome over here. She recommended me Red Velvet which is best seller and Granny's Cake second best seller. If were to compare between Red Velvet and Granny's Cake, my choice would be Granny's Cake, creamy, fluffy, moist, while Red Velvet slightly sweet for me, overall both cakes are fine for me.
Espresso with 7oz milk (Latte) Coffee art is simple but I would say this latte taste great. Usually I taste milky with latte however this one the coffee taste is strong too. It balances the taste of the coffee’s bitter with the milk, additional point is the bubble foam is not too thick.
Overall, I was satisfied with the food in Flakes. There could be room for improvement since croissants are their highlights. Flakes can be crowded at times, I would recommend you to make a reservation before you go because I had to wait for 25mins to get a table on Monday. Do check out Flakes if you are looking for a satisfying brunch with good scrambled eggs!
Overall that I find the croissant series is so so only over the hype that had been created. Not flaky, fragrant and seems like bake twice. It could be not my choice of croissant and of course to many of you out there. this place is out for me.
Having said that Flakes forte are in freshly bake croissants, with great thought process, they came out with variety of flavors to cater the market demand. Ranging from original butter croissant to Niko Neko Matcha croissant. Price of each croissant varies depending on its flavor, so do check them out at their counter. My favorite croissant goes to the Niko Neko Matcha croissant, I'm a big fan of matcha and they managed to craft it well to my personal preference.
