It is a nice place, well-kept and has good architectural design and layout.
Yummy Duck & Eggs (RM 24) This is ultra flavorful shredded duck with baby spinach on a baguette, topped with two poached eggs. The sauce they use is reminiscent of braised duck and it’s very good. I love the addition of raw spinach too, the earthy notes complement the dish well. The orange segment on top was gold! It actually adds a lot to the dish. The portion was slightly small but it turned out to be enough.
I ordered latte since my friend, Nicholas ordered mocha. I was a little disappointed with the coffee art. Taste wise can be improved.
Well, well, well....what would you know? This comes second!!! Yes, it was really THAT good. Again, generous portion. The pasta was cooked al dante, the right spiciness and not an overdosed of olive oil as served by some other restaurants. 4 Olives and lots of garlic to tantalise the tongue and the mixture sends your fork to dig in for more.
This cafe is ideal for catch up with friends or spend time with family, but definitely not for longer hang-out. We have a strong sense that the waitress were chasing us away once we’ve finished all our foods. Plates was took away very fast as soon as we finished. I was shocked when the waitress took my Chilled Lime (RM6.90) away without asking me if i have finished or not. I would said they are too ‘efficient & fast’!
The ‘Meaty’ Big Breaky (RM 21.80+) There’s so much happening on the plate, laden bountifully with scrambled eggs (egg of your choice) on wholemeal toast, two herbed chicken sausages, two slices of turkey ham, strips of beef bacon, a serving of button mushrooms, grilled tomatoes, a hashbrown and homemade baked beans. A very satisfying serving by just looking at the portion but the taste was pretty standard and nothing to shout about.
Verdict: Mr. & Ms. Cafe is a cosy place which is perfect for a lazy weekend breakfast or brunch. The interior is pretty cosy and the staffs are very friendly. The breakfast menu offers a selection of western breakfast choices while the lunch menu which is available from 12pm onwards include a wide variety of western choices such as sandwiches, burgers and pasta.
Overall I think Mr. & Ms. Cafe do serve good healthy breakfast/brunch whereby almost everything come with eggs. You can actually go for fried egg, scrambled egg and even poached egg or to add on your favourite side dishes! Besides, they also have other ala carte food such as pasta and sandwiches. They do have cakes and pancake too but I was too full that day and didn't get to try them! :(
Overall Rating: 6.5/10. The breakfast was pretty good, but nothing to shout about really. What I really liked about the Oasis though, was the conceptualised restaurants up front, near the water fountains. It was calling-out-loud for another foodie-run real soon.
