You have heard all about the Murtabak Wars and Zam Zam is one of the best. Zam Zam is right next to Victory and Al-Tasneem. All offer basically the same menu and there are raging debates about whi…
Zam Zam's nasi goreng mutton uses diced mutton cubes. Meat was nicely scorched but dried up.
They've a nice creamy kurma on the menu too. A good rendition but definitely not the best around. The mutton was a dusky pink and fork tender.
Punjab Grill has a USA Cheese Menu which featured a four course end to end meal of dishes with cheese.
I am glad that my first experience with Punjabi cuisine is at Punjab Grill; it may be my first but it won’t be my last! As the flavours at Punjab Grill are not overly spicy, the food here will suit a large array of palates.
Service overall was professional and polite, being able to explain the dishes with clarity, though they could look short-handed at times. A worthy try if you are keen to experience higher end Indian dining in Singapore.
I wolfed these down pretty easily with all of their spices and chutney, but they definitely weren't as pillowy as the big ones from Murugan, nor were they as rich as Murugan's ghee-coated ones either. The porcelainware and utensils here meant that prices were slightly higher too.
Their vegetable dishes on the side were delicious. I'll leave the description as that because it's never easy nor accurate with the usual array of adjectives. There are simply too many flavours going on.
Overall, I enjoyed the dining experience at Nalan. It was an eye opener, especially on Indian Vegetarian Cuisine.
Dessert was a rasamalai. We were a little worried that these would taste like wet cardboard but they didn't. It was nice and juicy.
We enjoy our Indian food, but there are some highlights at Rang Mahal that make us crave for it now, though be prepared to splurge for a meal here.
餐馆形象西化新潮,但并没有追随混搭潮流,而是把菜式重新解构,以新颖手法呈献,保留原味的同时注入现代精神。
Food at Shahi Maharani North Indian Restaurant features refined North Indian cuisine, living up to the fine dining experience it promises.
this a really quality time evening, CCG relishing the “new” experience-chill & relax with great buddies.
Food at Anglo Indian Cafe & Bar is primarily North Indian cuisine, with a few British English dishes. The kitchen team utilises a good variety of spices and cooking techniques, from roasting to stewing, serving hearty and delicious curries that satisfy. Portions are designed for sharing and communal dining. Prices have a slight premium, budget about SGD $35 per person.
I must have passed by this place a million times (1 Shenton Way #01-08, 6636-9411). Each time I never bothered with it, figuring that it was surviving off of its convenient office worker location rather than the food itself. But two weeks ago, it was awarded a Michelin Bib Gourmand designation, making me wonder if I'd been missing out all of this time.
the food here isn't cheap, and forego the tasteless chaas next time.
Pretty thick and savoury palak paneer they have. Judging from the spinach puree I think I might just like their saag gosht.
Mediocre Indian fare at Anglo Indian's, I would return for their $10 lunch deals but probably not at dinner.
Wasn't bad at all if you asked me.
They have mutton biryani, but that's very different. Most nights, they offer a bee hoon goreng putih with ikan bilis. It's not the best though. I've had varying degrees of quality, but they aren't as delicious as those say, at the eateries next door. Heheh.
Slightly more Muslim-Indian Singapore style than Hyderabad-spicy. It's still pretty good. The restaurant is crowded though, because many people head over for lunch before or after prayers.
The appam was freshly made and was nicely fragrant, with a slight sour tanginess from the fermented rice, spongy centre and slightly burnt paper thin crispy edges. This was a nice good light snack.
Mr Appam is undoubtedly a fantastic and welcome addition to Maxwell Food Centre. Every appam is made to order and there are so many flavours to explore!
Tasty and not as heavy or rich as many from the more traditional methods of preparation. It looked like a lot of work had gone into the food.
I will be back
