They don’t take reservations so customers in the know will arrive by 11.45 am to chope a place when they open at 12noon!

Misato certainly served delicious Japanese food and they paid special attention to the cutlery and utensils too. However, it is a little slow. We would still recommend. Therefore, dine when you have the time to spend.
Sun With Moon Japanese Restaurant on Orchard Road allows exploration of Japanese culinary delights in a chic & contemporary setting.
Sun with Moon at Wheelock Place is one of those places I always see when I drive past but have never been to – until now.
SUN with MOON, the popular Japanese dining concept, is proud to announce the launch of its Early Summer Menu. Beat the heat with an array of delectable dishes from satisfying savories to sweet tooth-curing treats that celebrate the flavors of the season.
The famous Shiok Maki and Pitan Tofu were great, and the Bacon Enoki called out to me but was less remarkable.
My last visit to Koh Grill & Sushi Bar was almost five years ago and I remember I waited quite a while in the queue before my family finally...
Koh Grill & Sushi Bar needs no introduction especially for Japanese food fans in Singapore.
Nice, sweet, smoky and tender unagi.

we shared a parfait…this not comparable with sun with moon, can do without. but unagi I will come again.
Last but certainly not least, indulge in the Superstar Roll, a true crowd-pleaser that combines tradition with innovation. Mentaiko sauce negitoro meets crispy mozzarella cheese in this unique sushi roll, topped with seasoned tempura flakes and Tanuki Raw's special oko sauce. What sets this roll apart is the unexpected crunch from the tempura flakes, elevating the sushi experience to new heights.
As you can see, I chose the Foie Gras Truffle Yakiniku ($21.90)! I also ordered a set which comes with a drink, miso soup and salad. The beef is drizzled with truffle soy sauce and the foie gras is glazed with black garlic brown butter.
The chirashi don today was not great. i guess all depends on the freshness & cut on the day, but if it is inconsistent, means the retsurant not that great!
Overall, I enjoyed my meal here at Kyoaji Dining very much once again - ambience was still subtly elegant and cosy as I remembered, and service crew so hospitable and friendly.
Loved the prior dining experience from 3 years back at Kyoaji Dining, and this visit lived up to our expectations. From the zen minimalist ambience, the attentive and efficient service, and fresh delicious Japanese food which is well-executed and reasonably priced, Kyoaji Dining continues to quietly impress across all categories.
Kyoaji Dining is almost an institution these days, with regulars visiting frequently for their exquisitely crafted and still delicious Japanese dishes, which are now more affordably priced.
We had a good experience with affordable sake during our recent lunch at Nobu. Good sake at a Japanese restaurant in Singapore need not be expensive. This prompted us to try the optional House Pour Sake at $30++. This was the disappointment of the day.
New kamameshi restaurant recommended by 8 Days. Quite a normal although tasty rice, with quite a normal (tasty) unagi. The sashimi appetisers were really fresh though. Not cheap though at $60+ all in.
To my surprise, the packaging was rather elegant, with a disposable plastic kama pot tied with a ribbon and paper cover. But of course, a plastic pot doesn't exactly give you scorched rice. At least that corn bowl above was pleasantly buttery.

the quality still wasn't anything like a proper tempura bar, but I'm happy to come back here if there is no wait.
My daughter loved the food here, and wants to come back soon.

Her creations now reflect a greater nuance and finesse with a new focus on South East Asian flavours.
I thought it was a pity that the food didn't quite work out.
A food blog from a Singapore-based traveler
The prawn ramen soup had a good savoury prawn flavour, although it tasted burnt and chao ta. Everything else was good – the noodles had bite, the prawns were fresh and springy (although I couldn’t taste any sweetness due to the chao ta), and the egg was molten. Not bad – brought me back to the Keisuke prawn ramen.
The Menbaka tonkotsu ramen was a good bowl of ramen. The noodles and soup were nice but not exceptional.
This tasted more like roasted onions, whereas Gogyo was more like yakiniku. And if I had to choose between the two, I'd choose Gogyo. But I'll eat this again if I don't have to wait in line.
If you want a taste of the Kyoto-style kaiseki, Yoshi is a dependable place to go and the atmosphere is not too serious or uptight as well, which made the dining experience very enjoyable.
Overall, given the value of the food, food I could get elsewhere, it is unlikely that I would return although the experience is good.
Not only do you get your choice of donburi, this comes with pickles, starter, soup and dessert too.

The services here are generally good.
We did recognise some of the staff from OneKM Mall there, which lent a nice familiarity to the place.
Sen-ryo is very well -received in Hong Kong as well when it first started there in 2005 and has since grown to 13 outlets there.
Sen-ryo is a reminder that casual Japanese restaurants can serve up good Japanese food too, contrary to some other local chains.
I wished they offered the option of only sanma sans the tonkatsu for their teishoku.
All the moisture from the oroshi had clumped the kombu together making it a little messy to eat. Didn't taste bad with the dashi/yuzu-y dip they provided though.
Tonkatsu by Ma Maison currently has an autumn special - Kurobuta Mushroom Katsu which features their kurobuta rosu katsu with mushrooms on daikon oroshi that has been infused with truffle oil and shiro dashi.
The summer menu also offers a wide variety of Japanese mainstays. The Natsu Enoki Tempura Roll ($11.80) features blocks of deep-fried golden mushroom sushi roll, each layered with cooked prawn and avocado. A delightful honey yuzu sauce imbues the roll with a sweet tang.
Sushi Tei is launching a spring menu, bringing a taste of Japan right to you!
Whilst unable to do so in the time being, I’m grateful for the presence of affordable Japanese food options available in Singapore to tide me over, with Sushi Tei one of the first that spring to mind.
Overall, since they specialise in Soba, what they are serving is quite outstanding among their competitors.
The dish — which uses a special recipe from a top Soba Master — is traditionally savored by the Japanese on New Year’s Eve to usher in longevity, good fortune, and health.
主打手工荞麦面的Shimbashi Soba首次推出高岭红荞麦面(Takane Ruby Soba),把罕见的珍贵食材带到新加坡来,做成凉面或汤面,限定推出。
Pleasantly surprised by the beefiness of their wagyu tsukune. Both the cheese filled one and the negi shio topped stick were delicious in their own ways.
The quality of the food was good and the dining space was pleasant.
Everyone is served a welcome drink upon entering! The welcome drink is said to contain slight alcohol...
Somehow I never noticed this until recently, but IPPUDO has a bonito ramen available, featuring a gritty and smoky broth that I rather enjoyed. That little dab of yuzu kosho provided a refreshing kick to ease the grease down too. It was just what I needed after a long day at work, together with some of the cheap booze that they have here.
Food at Ippudo is focused on Japanese cuisine, specifically ramen noodles and izakaya bar snacks. Their award-winning tonkotsu pork bone broth is the star, achieving the perfect balance of texture and taste that appeals to the masses.
Enjoy the Ohanami Sakura Cocktail ($7 per glass), pretty-in-pink sweet plum wine with a cherry blossom color and aroma that looks as good as it tastes.

They even have gindara shioyaki these days. A refreshing change from the usual teriyaki version.
The line tonight wasn't too bad though, so I hopped over to try that akauo hiraki above, and was happy with its savory skin and tasty bits of fat along the belly. It was surprisingly moist too.
