Make this year’s festive feasting one to remember with various buffets and set menus available at Coffee Lounge, L’Espresso and Gordon Grill from 1 December 2022 to 2 January 2023.
I am glad we choose Goodwood Park Hotel to use our SVR voucher. Although it is the second oldest hotel in Singapore, it just ages gracefully. The refurbishment project rejuvenates the rooms while maintaining the grandeur and history of the hotel.
Food at Goodwood Park Hotel is provided by the Coffee Lounge Restaurant, offering a decent range of Singaporean favourites and Western fare on the in-room dining menu.
The red, hot chilli sambal was potently spicy and left a burning sensation on my tongue, even though it dissipated rather quickly. If you like, you can even get a tub of sambal at just S$4.00! p.s. I don't know how big is one tub.
A good number of stalls were open. Those that were closed in the day were mainly the seafood stalls.
Pu Xin is worth a visit by virtue of their unique Putien-style Lor Mee, but Chef Ming urges everyone to give their Zha Jiang Mian a try. Anything else you order is a bonus!

grand hyatt takeaway review
Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Grand Hyatt Singapore.
A food blog from a Singapore-based traveler
12 reviews of Far East Plaza "Back in the day when I used to live in Singapore, this place was a fucking dump. It was kind of dirty and pretty much a cesspool full of shops selling cheap, crappy shit (although it had a decent food court upstairs,…
The new menu and concept of Alma is definitely a good change for me, where the execution and presentation of the courses display the finesse expected of a Michelin starred restaurant. The injection of Asian flavours in the menu is also a welcoming element for me.
One-Michelin starred restaurant Alma by Juan Amador Celebrates Its 6th Year with a Specially Curated Anniversary Menu which will be available from 1 to 30 September 2021. Choose between the special 5-course lunch & dinner menu (from 12 to 2:30pm, 6 to 10pm) at S$198++/pax, or the grand 8-course dinner menu (from 6 to 10pm) at S$298++/pax.
Pasta and all that were quite standard. Swimmer crab pasta had generous amounts of crab, and tasted like curry pasta. The pork jowl was soft with an interesting salty savoury sauce, and the rice was like a fragrant and tasty glutinous rice, without the stickiness.
Finally trying out Maddie’s Kitchen! They are a hidden gem providing reasonably priced zi char meals on Level 2 of Far East Plaza.
Overall, Maddie’s Kitchen offers premium zi char dishes at affordable price points, which might be great for those looking for a pocket-friendly meal after a day out shopping in Orchard.
The beef hor-fun was stir-fried with bittergourd and salted black beans. It was delicious.
Overall, the service is efficient. Food prices may be a little steep but in terms of standard and quality, its commendable. Since there are a number of outlets, I do not mind revisiting for Thai Cuisine at any of their restaurant.
A place I don’t mind returning again and again, if they keep their quality consistent.
The only things I thought would have improved it was some crushed peanuts and some mint leaves.
Chicken Rice Takeaway, Char Siew and Dumplings
The good thing is I liked it more than the way I described it last time, as the broth was actually delicate and savory, and the chicken was nice and moist.

Shima restaurant at Goodwood Park Hotel was the first teppanyaki restaurant in Singapore, set up in 1980. It is also said to be the oldest Japanese restaurant in Singapore.
Freshly grilled food (yaki) on an iron plate (teppan), Shima offers teppanyaki courses in a slightly aristocratic yet traditional setting. In short, you can expect nothing short of the finest quality and dedicated service.
Shima’s Maguro Festival Ala Carte Menu is available for both lunch and dinner till 16 April 2018.
Goodwood Park hotel presents a prosperous line up of Lunar New Year delights from 7 January to 15 February 2022, just in time for a roaring start to the Year of the Tiger.
Lunch at new Min Jiang Goodwood Park Chinese restaurant Singapore with pictures of menu, private room, dim sum, double boiled soup ..
Absolutely love the revamped space at Min Jiang Goodwood Park Hotel (and the food of course)!
Overall, this is a quiet spot near Orchard Road for a pleasant Peranakan meal. Peranakan meals are usually meant for bigger groups, so it is also great that there is also the Signature Tasting menu to suit solo diner or couples where the portions are reduced to try a good variety of dishes.

Waffletown USA will cease operations on 18th May 2021. Do drop by to pay your last pilgrimage before they are gone for good.
I'm glad that Waffletown make a comeback for all their supporters as we really miss such nostalgic taste from their fried chicken. However, due to a shortage of manpower, they will be opening from 5pm to 9pm except Monday till further notice.

White Rose Cafe of York Hotel Singapore launches ‘Flavours of Asian Rice Bowls’ promotion inspired by the myriad flavours, textures, and taste of contemporary rice bowls.
Apart from the grain bowls, diners can also order a la carte dishes and I would recommend their Chicken Satay or Calamari. Both are quite addictive in flavours.
Diners will get to savour a variety of Penang street food from the twelve live stations at White Rose Cafe.
In case you are interested in the Paradise Teochew Chinese New Year Set Menus, they have a wide range of menus to choose from.
I would definitely love to be back again.
Also not to be missed is their oyster omelette. The crispy edges, gooey insides and tangy chilli makes this a must order if you love your orh luaks.
Overall, an interesting place for my business discussion, and a stunning one at that.
If you are looking for a nice quiet place to chillax in the midst of bustling Orchard (what an oxymoron) and have deep pockets to burn a hole in, this is it.
Greyhound Cafe is the perfect example of why I don't think an overseas outpost will ever fare as well as the original mothership.
Recommended by ieatishootipost. The plate was a bit more watery and wetter than I liked, but full of smokiness, wok hei and umami. The prawn stock was really quite flavourful, while the crackling was crispy and flavourful too. The noodles were of just the right texture, with a bit of bite. Nice.
Despite this small letdown, the meal was still a solid one that I would highly recommend to anyone in the area. Prawnography is undoubtedly a must-visit spot for Hokkien mee lovers, especially for those who enjoy a variety of seafood and meat in their dishes.
