The mentai salmon don was really nice – the salmon was torched outside and still raw inside, with the umaminess from the mentaiko, and creaminess from what seemed to be mentaiko mayo. The ebi mango maki was I thought a bit of an odd pairing. The mango was sweet, prawn and ebiko savoury, and the mayo creamy, but I didn’t feel that it came together so well.
Whenever a good friend suggests a meetup, I don’t reject. But when I heard it was Fortune Centre, I was a bit hesitant as I had been heading...
We tried a few items that they were known for. Like their mentai salmon don. Not bad.
I’m always down for a Japanese meal at any time of the day. Fortune Center is within walking distance of Bugis MRT Station, so you can bet you’ll see me here more often than my wallet would like me to. But that’s cool too since it’s so affordable!
