It’s a shame that they’ve closed down as the entire concept, in our opinion, was well thought out, and the featured restaurants did serve some really good food.
grilled sabar 50% off about S$11 very good too, large saba, fresh and oily very flavourful..
We got the seiro option and the scallop kabosu udon. The udon was smooth and had a nice chewiness to the bite.
Somehow the special aburi sushi didn’t have the wow that i expected of such top quality ingredients.
Sashimi – salmon, maguro fresh & sweet & vinegared cured saba very nice too…certainly a very good donburi for S$9.80, of course not expect premium cut sashimi, but it was good & we all enjoyed it.
What I concluded during my period of solitude at Sabar that day was that while it may not be enjoyable, the discomfort of eating alone can be minimised.
We like to come here for a quick sushi lunch. Their set lunch selections are quite limited but are usually good value for money.
Besides the above, other dishes you can try at Tempura Tsukiji Tenka include the Sea Eel Tendon (S$27.80) and Ebi Tendon (S$16.80).
Tsukiji Sushi Takewaka is one of the several eateries at the Japan Food Town at Wisma Atria.
It also appears that Tsukiji Sushi Takewaka has an accreditation as a Sake Navigator. Sushi and grilled fish is best eaten with some sake.
Sabar is most likely to be in “Best Casual Restaurants 2017.”
