Look no further than Taste of Jiang Nan 江南味道, a hidden gem nestled within Maxwell Food Centre, recently spotlighted by Seth Lui for its tasty offerings.
This was an easy to eat bowl of noodles. The noodles were soft, sauce piquant, sweet, savoury and flavourful, fishballs qq with a subtle fish flavour, and meatball really tasting of fish and having a nice varying texture. Good bowl.
Recommended by 8 Days and various others, and opened by Eggslut alum. The egg was silky, smooth and quite custardy and creamy, but had a bit of 蛋腥. The glazed char siew was tender and sweet but quite ordinary.
This was apparently opened by a fourth generation hawker and grandson of Ah Ter. I loved the noodles, springy with a tangy savoury lardy mushroomy and thick ketchup flavour. The bowl had a nice and balanced flavour kick and came with sliced mushrooms and thick crispy lard.
The noodles, known for their springy and chewy nature, absorb the flavorful broth, making each mouthful a burst of delightful taste.

Hock Lai Seng Teochew Fishball Bak Chor Mee has been making waves with their classic fishball noodles that will leave you wanting more.
The appam was freshly made and was nicely fragrant, with a slight sour tanginess from the fermented rice, spongy centre and slightly burnt paper thin crispy edges. This was a nice good light snack.
Danlao 蛋佬 is a new stall that opened at Maxwell Food centre early this year. They specialize in scrambled egg rice with various toppings such as Tomato ($4.50), Luncheon Meat ($5), Chicken Cutlet ($6), Char Siew ($6), and Prawn ($7).
