Their homemade donut is above my expectations and turns out to be very good. Baked to perfection! Texture is nice where it is not too dense slight airy in between. One of a highly recommended item to finish your meal with. Not encourage to take away as ask the owner only can last within 10 minutes.

The Lion Head Meatballs Wanton Mee (RM8.50) was our favourite dish in Pudu Chan Fatt Wanton Mee. It’s essentially pork meatballs stewed served with noodles, broth and vegetables. This dish was so simple yet quite delicious with most of the flavours coming from the pork balls.

One of Pudu Chan Fatt Wanton Mee's not-to-be-missed signature heritage dishes is the Curry Laksa With Chicken. Priced at RM 7.50, it comes with generous servings of poached chicken, crispy beancurd sheets, taufoo pok (beancurd puffs), wanton noodles and crunchy bean sprouts. The curry broth was both rich and creamy in the aromatic coconut curry broth, but not spicy enough for me. You will know that Megan uses only fresh herbs and spices to cook the curry laksa just by tasting the broth.

My friend ordered the double combo of char siew and roast duck wanton mee (MYR 11 nett) and a barli lemon drink without sugar (MYR 2.80 nett) and thought that the sauce of the wanton mee contained some kind of vinegar.

They were renovating their shop when I was there previously. Since I was around that area, I thought I would drop by just to try their special tasting sauce as mentioned by PH although I was not hungry and was planning to eat at another eatery at a later time.

The food served is all made fresh daily, starting with their broth boiled with chicken bones and anchovies with no preservatives for at least 5 hours.

During our meal, I noticed a steady stream of elderly folks here. Maybe this older generation is familiar with the good ol' wantan mee taste back in 1996 (before the original owners retired) and are happy to be able to savour it again. However, my experience with this four-decade old wantan mee with a 62-years history ended with me not liking their speciality of wanton mee, char siew and sui kow (which they're famous for) as much. Let's just say the char siew isn't their strong suit. It's funny how a place didn't wow me with their signature dishes but with something else. If I had to rate my favourites, it'd be the lion head meatball noodles first followed by the homemade Chinese pork & liver sausage rice and fried sui kow! ^o^ These, I felt, were the better bets here (at least for me).

When Megan Wong left her job as a Financial Controller and said goodbye to the corporate world, she decided to revive her family’s heritage wanton noodles business. If you are older than me and has been a true-blue KLite, you’d probably know about Chan Fatt Wanton Mee in the Pudu wet market. Megan’s parents – the late Woon Poon and his wife, Lee Yit Yee started the business as a small stall in 1955 (imagine, that’s during the British era!). They sold only wanton noodles with char siu and sui gao – simple food which became a hit and Chan Fatt Wanton Mee became one of the biggest and most well-known eatery in Pudu Market.

I found their coffee to be deep bodied and bold with minimal sugar which was just to my liking. If I were to compare this to the one's that we commonly get in cafe's, I would say that this was better. The price of RM 2.20 is definitely reasonable as well. My rating for this shall be 9/10.
