Avocado Toastie for me - grilled sourdough with smashed avocado, tomato and feta crumbs. I've tried avocado toast in many cafes due to my diet and I think the price is somewhat reasonable (it's Genting after all).
My personal favourite catch there is the light and flaky Cod (regular RM40, large RM48 & legendary RM58). Served piping hot, the slab of imported Atlantic cod comes coated in airy-light, crisp batter with a pile of thick-cut, double-cooked chips.
As for The Laughing Fish’s classics, we also tried the steak. 250g Sirloin Steak (MYR 53) Served with double-cooked chips and a choice of peppercorn sauce or hollandaise sauce. I went with the latter sauce as recommended and have the meat medium rare doneness. The steak was juicy in its natural sweetness, almost without much marinate just as the common methodology adopted by Western practitioner widely who emphasized on “Simplicity Is the Best” when comes to fresh produce. But surprisingly, the Australian sirloin was rather sinewy as opposed to what I usually had elsewhere.

The highlight of the day was of course the Lamb Sausage Calzone RM58. Folded in half, it was huge, about the length of my arm. The pizza base was spotted with charred patches, and delivered a firm bite. Tore the calzone apart and out spilled a mess of chopped lamb sausages, eggplants, melted mozzarella and oregano.

SPICY ROOIBOS The association of this South Africa rooibos combined with orange, ginger, almond and cinnamon creates an extraordinary mouthfeel and flavourful moment. It’s palatably engaging with its different gustatory gradation whereby your taste bud would be amazingly tickled by its bright notes infused with some hints of spice too. Classically served on a stone-wrought platter, it has Jamon, Chorizo, Salchichon and Lomo Iberico for your dining pleasure. Predictably, I ended up liking the Jamon Iberico the most.

A home for Baba-Nyonya treat! With a wide range of food selection on the menu, this restaurant houses many options of Baba-Nyonya food for the visitors to savor. We have tried out their Char Kuey Teow (costs RM 20.00) which comes with large prawns mixed with spices that delivers an appetizing experience.
An authentic Nyonya dish full of flavors and spicy too. I was biting into the pieces of chilli padi and that's the one that gives me the oomph. The chicken pieces are cut into small pieces and all are meat pieces with no bones which is good.
They also served a variety of handmade balls too where for first timer you can go for the Assorted Balls Platter (RM 26.50) which comes with their signature Teochew Style Fish Balls, Soft Bone Pork Meat Balls, Black Pepper Pork Meat Balls and Cuttlefish Balls.

There’s also so original Fish Paste, Pork Paste, as well as more interesting flavours such as Dried Scallop Fish Paste, Century Egg Fish Paste and Otak-otak Fish Paste to try on.
The hotpot ingredients are of premium quality, expect to find handmade fish balls, fresh fish paste, imported meats, luxurious seafood etc on the menu (you may find more info on their website). We found most of the hotpot ingredients were fresh... at least the hefty price tags are well-justified
I see the word "spicy" in the menu and I knew that the dish would be too hot for me to handle. The Deep Fried Spicy Chicken With Dried Chili (RM45) was a force to be reckoned with. It had plenty of kick (chili peppers, sichuan peppercorns and dried chilies - you do the math), fit for those who have a hot-tongue for spicy food.
Lobster Tail with Sichuan Gravy (RM 96) I am just falling in love with the pipping hot and spicy soup. The Lobster Tail was sautéed with onions, white radish, carrots, onions and chili. The portion was so generous as they are packed with chunks of lobster meat beneath. Worth for the price of it. And this was perfect to warm my tummy especially at the cold Sky Avenue. Such a tummy warming dish to have at the cold weather.
Lobster Tail with Sichuan Gravy RM96 Lobster tail sauteed with onion, white radish carrot, onion, chilli – A dish incorporated with very own creativity from the kitchen team by using lobster tail instead of the usual fish, beef or chicken; while keeping the core of Sichuan dish by cooking it in a classic SiChuan method. We thought there’s only one lobster given but as we dig in deeper, more bouncy, meaty lobster meat revealed at the bottom. Quite a generous amount. Worth the price we pay for. Recommended.
The star dish of the day has got to be the Fried Chicken... deboned and perfectly light, crispy. Dips were not necessary as they were all well-seasoned and good to go. The Fried Chicken would make a good combo with glasses of chilled Beers.

The marbling on the Wagyu looked amazing. The staff will cook the beef to your preferred doneness; we asked for medium and he did a fantastic job cooking it. Juicy and tender, with a lovely buttery, melt-in-the-mouth texture, we absolutely loved it. Perfect eaten with some of the turmeric grey salt.
For about RM60, you can get a satisfying and filling meal of claypot fish head curry for two at the Malaysian Food Street. The curry is prepared with cod fish head, cooked to order and tastes on par with what you usually get at the average Chinese restaurants. The portion is quite large (you get a whole fish head) so the price is fitting considering its Genting Highlands. Compared to the dozens of other meals that I have had here, this ranks top in terms of value.
Malaysian Street Food brings people of different ethnicity and race together for a multi-cultural cuisine. Located at Sky Avenue, this humongous food court houses five types of zones, with 20 stalls, three kiosks and one drinks counter.
Prawn Mee (RM20) was made out of fragrant prawn stock and topped with fresh prawns, chicken slices, hard-boiled egg, beansprouts and kangkung. As you probably could tell by the picture, the soup was thick, aromatic and tasty. The piping hot bowl was the perfect foil to Genting’s cold weather.
