[Halal] We finally checked out this establishment for their famous dish – Dancing Fish. The presentation is very cool – the fish really looks like it is dancing/jumping.
DF Appetizer Platter (RM 49.80) comes to our favorite where the platter is packed with their signature items which includes their charcoal – grilled Chicken Satay, Cumi Cumi Tahu Bakar with the Spicy Peanut Rujak Sauce, Seafood Sate Lilit and Spicy Green Apple Salad with Salted Fish. The platter is just awesome where they are packed with flavors as well.
Boston Lobster and abalones make the best pairing, especially when they are braised in a thick umami sauce. It’s a great dish to make good impressions and we love the impression it made on our happy tummies!

Was invited to try the new dim sum menu by @orientalgroup and it was nice to see the Ming Room in its new digs after being refurbished. Was particularly impressed by the bamboo feature wall and the fancy washroom, akin to a swanky posh hotel!
Serving authentic Cantonese cuisine that blends history and elegance with comfort. The dim sum menu is fairly extensive with consistent standards which may be considered good locally. It's always packed at weekends so be sure to make a reservation to avoid disappointment.
It was worth the wait as some of their dishes are superb. Char siew pork is irresistible because the meat is mostly lean with just a bit of fat and lightly charred with an even coating of sticky sweet soy sauce.
Reasons to visit Coca Restaurant BSC: a relaxed yet smart setting – lovely during the day with its large windows; tasty Thai dishes and, of course, scrumptious hot pot!
This Khao Klook Kapi (RM26), with a spectacular array of flavours and textures on one plate. Originating from Central Thailand, this is typically eaten during lunch and features fried rice with shrimp paste, omelette, young mango, shallots, cucumber, long beans, chillies, dried shrimp and sweet, sticky chicken pieces. A vibrant, delicious plate of goodness!
Do not leave COCA Steamboat without trying their COCA Fish Glue RM23! It is actually fish paste spread out in thin and flat instead of sphere shape. Enjoy the texture, so bouncy after cooked, despite the thinness.
Being one of the legendary Japanese ramen establishments well-known worldwide, Ippudo certainly doesn’t go famous for no reason. Thick, cloudy white, flavourful signature tonkotsu broth immersed with thin, springy ramen, topped with beautifully done egg with runny egg yolk and delicious meat slices – a gracious bowl of Ippudo ramen always brings satisfaction in every slurp.
Reasons to visit: superb Japanese cuisine with a twist and a quality drink menu to back it up; the premium IPPUDO outlet in Malaysia has dishes only found in this location; don’t miss the Kogashi Miso Ramen, Gindara Saikyo Miso Yaki and the Yokubari Maki.
Shortly after the introduction of new menu; Karaka-men the night before at The Gardens Mall, our taste buds was again amusingly tickled at its BSC’s outlet with another new kid of the block- Mazesoba!
In conclusion, we consider Burrow as two of the best spots to get canelés in the Klang Valley.
Burrow Bangsar is one of the very few places in KL that put canelés into limelight, other cakes and pastries to keep it company. Their canelés are aged for 48 hors, baked in edible beeswax coated copper mould straight from Bordeaux. There you go, the outcome is crackling, crispy, caramelized crust; custardy, rich within.
Depending on individual, it might looks a bit pricy for some, but if you fancy a excellent ambience for your lunch / dinner, then strongly recommend this place. Eating is not just to fill the stomach, you can do that with mixed rice, but it's the entire package, environment, ambience, smell, music, style, serving and etc. This is what Ben's in BSC offer, and I would definitely come back for any lazy afternoon that I just want a place to stretch myself for a lazy lunch/dinner. Thumbs up, loving it.
All in all I still love their pasta over other main…. The restaurant ambient is definitely a selling point providing a very comfortable dining experience. I can stay there for hours with the T2 teas (Ben’s use T2 brand for all their tea).
I love my steaks medium rare and the tenderloin was cooked perfectly, it was tender and juicy all the way to the center served with honey balsamic roasted brussels sprouts, baby carrots, and broccoli.
Reasons to visit Roberto’s 1020 Osteria: a stylish yet relaxed Italian restaurant; a setting that offers indoor dining and a bar, a patio and semi-alfresco seating; excellent house-made pizza and pasta; nice wine list with eight labels available by the glass.
The best one was probably a pork platter complete with both char siew (not as caramelized as Meng Kee but still nice and fatty) as well as that roasted pork belly thing with the crispy skin. Sure, I'd come back here again.
An Irish classic, the Dublin Coddle (RM33) epitomized homecooked comfort food. Said to be straight from the heart of Dublin city, the Irish stew is a hodgepodge of bacon, sausages and root vegetables that is a sure crowd pleaser. Beautiful stew that has a robust hearty note of its ingredients, this is a dish that one can enjoy often. A must-order, especially if one is craving for simple comfort pleasures…
Reasons to visit Three X Co: killer cocktails on offer for reasonable prices, and the understated luxury and relaxed atmosphere of the entire experience. Easy accessibility within Bangsar Shopping Centre also make this speakeasy one to add to your list of destinations.
Char-grilled tomahawk steak served with roasted potatoes and topped with herbs butter. Gosh, this was huge and can easily feed 2-4 people. For the price, I think it was worth it because it was well seasoned and we asked for medium-well and it turned out great and it wasn't tough. The thickness was just right and felt juicy in the mouth and very flavourful. The herbs butter with salt on the side was the icing of this tomahawk!

The folks at Monte’s in Bangsar Shopping Centre has got it just right. Using only the juiciest parts of the chicken – thighs and drumsticks only, their fried chicken here is served nicely propped up in a bucket. Coated in a light batter brimming with secret spices, the crispy golden skin is irresistible, trust me. Beneath that, juicy tender meat, just the way how good fried chicken should be! VIP Chicks Package @ RM568+ 1 bottle Moët et Chandon 1 bucket Monte’s Fried Chicken (12pcs) Salad or Cheesy Wedges or VVIP Party Package @ RM888+ 2 bottles Moët et Chandon 1 supersize bucket Monte’s Fried Chicken (18pcs) Salad or Cheesy Wedges
Having been captivating the taste buds of many epicureans for more than a decade now, Monte’s continues to titillate your discerning palate with more innovative and delectable western cuisine that going to leave you craving for more.
In summary, if you’re looking for a casual spot to soak in the holiday ambiance and enjoy a decent meal, Huckleberry might just fit the bill. Just don’t expect a culinary masterpiece – it’s more about the simple joy of sharing a meal in a festive setting.
Reasons to visit Vineria IT in BSC: relaxed vibe with great patio seating; new chef new menu; attractively presented dishes; don’t miss the Tortelli, Osso Bucco Millefoglie; be sure to wash it all down with some Italian craft beer from Birradamare.
Reasons to visit: Deep fried lamb rack with Pecorino Sauce and the Grilled Eggplant rolls with Cecina Ham and Mozzarella, plus live music and an inviting terrace during Sunday brunch from 12-4 pm.
Verdict: 1. Definitely a healthier option when it comes to milk-based gelato. 2. Flavour wise, they are all very intense in natural taste, without being overly sweet or heavy to me. 3. Recommended: Pistachio Gelato
Reasons to visit: The Char Siew Chicken Salad and Curryeggy, but mainly for desserts, especially Sticky Date pudding and Play It Again Sam with a cuppa.
Just another day of visit to a newly opened cafe called Page 2, project by Cafe In A Box. A team of baristas that started out as a weekend barista who are always enthusiast in the coffee scene.
