A food blog from a Singapore-based traveler
Every item was good, with the only exception being the noodles having a slight kee or alkaline flavour, although this was made up for by the outstanding sauce made of dried shrimps and kelp.

Bring your friends and family, and enjoy a charming taste of authentic Singaporean flavours here at Ginger!
Ginger at PARKROYAL on Beach Road definitely has no shortage of excellent dishes infused with authentic Singaporean flavours.
We absolutely loved the Roast Angus Beef with Truffle Puree.
The prices may be very steep and you might cry after seeing the bill, but I promise you, it is a treat you should give yourself at least once in your lifetime.
Do not leave Edge without trying their amazing Nama Chocolates!
Most of the dishes were executed well and there are plenty of classic dishes that impressed us.
We finally made our way to Colony for “The Journey” Afternoon Tea at Colony, Ritz Carlton Singapore recently. It was a leisure Saturday afternoon tea date with beautiful settings and ambience.
We have been religiously visiting Ritz Carlton for the last few Decembers to enjoy their festive afternoon tea at the Chihuly Lounge. Alas, Chihuly Lounge which was famous for its afternoon tea is …

I enjoyed my meal at Peach Blossoms this time much more than my first visit few years ago. It was fun having the Chef’s Tasting Menu since I literally have no idea what to expect, and it is that surprise element which makes the experience a more enjoyable and memorable one for me.
Peach Blossoms Dim Sum Lunch review. PARKROYAL COLLECTION Marina Bay Singapore with pictures of menu and Chinese restaurant interior
Food is generally quite good at Peach Blossoms, though the service pulls down the overall experience for me.
Tiffin Room has curated a special Diwali Experience menu that brings together the rich and diverse flavors of Indian cuisine, reimagined in an iconic tiffin box alongside delectable sweet.

Godmama is one of the popular dining places in Funan Mall. They are located on the 4th level and specialized in serving Modern Peranakan Food.
Everything was quite competent. The stock for the chap chye was excellent – thick, layered and full of hae bi or hae flavour. The ayam buak keluak was good too – pungent and fragrant.
Ayam Buah Keluak (19.9) was a tad oily, and the lack of colour reflected in lack in richness. Perhaps it did not have enough of the nut.
Si Chuan Dou Hua Restaurant at PARKROYAL on Beach Road brings to the table a variety of Lunar New Year Set Menus available from 09 January to 05 February 2023.
Food at Si Chuan Dou Hua Restaurant is focused on Chinese Sichuan / Szechuan and Chinese Cantonese cuisine. Ingredients are fresh, premium, and consistently well executed, resulting in delicious dishes.
I have to say I am really impressed with the dishes here.

Sky High Hawker series going. It really is a genius concept. Feels like a staycation lunch in another country especially with the variety of food
What a cracking night. A dinner with such variety. Variety of the view, of the food, and of the music. And top it all off with the fireworks. What an end to

Maxwell Food Centre’s Tian Tian Chicken Rice is a Bib Gourmand award recipient serving good Hainanese chicken rice, starting at $5 a plate.
The chicken rice was fragrant and not too oily, plus grainy. Chicken was meh and slightly tough. This tasted nothing like the revelationary chicken rice that I remember from the first time I tried it. Perhaps its again this thing where I have tried too many good things since, or the first time is always the best.
I still think Tian Tian Hainanese Chicken Rice offers one of the best versions around, and if a tourist friend comes to Singapore, I may still recommend – for its brand, for its name.
Our highlight of the night is this Braised Boston Lobster with Pearl Rice and Crispy Rice Toppings. I literally went ‘Wow” after my first mouth.
At Top of UOB Plaza, Si Chuan Dou Hua is running the “Deep Duck Secrets” Dining Promotion where diners get to enjoy free flow Roasted Peking Duck (北京片皮鸭). A big big yes to those amber crispy duck’s skin!
At Top of the UOB, “DEEP DUCK SECRETS” dining promotion is priced at S$58.00++ per person with a minimum for 2 pax. The free flow main course comprises 7 dishes, counting in an appetizer, soup, side dish, a rice or noodle course and a dessert.
The noodles and all components continued to be good. The sauce was addictive, with some pork lard and sweet prawn flavour, while the noodles were really qq. The pork belly was especially tender and unctuous. The only drawback was the onsen egg, which was a bit too watery and flavourless. And I missed the prawn wrapped with potato strips. But otherwise still very good and nice.

I enjoyed A Noodle Story's deliciously bold re-interpretation of wanton mee and ramen.
At Nox, the idea of dining in complete darkness is novel, and it was fun trying to figure out the dishes laid in front of me from across the 3 platters.
NOX’s Valentine’s Promotion consists of exclusive Valentine’s Welcome Drink for each guest, 2 amuse bouche, 3 course Mystery Menu, 3 Mocktail Pairings and Petit Fours in a box with a stalk of rose for $168++ per pax.
It may sound gimmicky, and you may think that the food would be just mediocre, but I promise you that the food is excellent.
The final item of the UOB birthday treat at Shinji Carlton Hotel was another memorable piece – the super sweet Japanese melon.
Shinji by Kanesaka Raffles Hotel is done up like a typical sushi restaurant in Japan. Simple light wood finish all round. We were seated at a long counter that accommodates about 16 customers.
19 reviews of Shinji By Kanesaka "I've only tried better sushi in San Diego's Nobu but hands down to this location. Recently moved to Singapore and I am always on a lookup for a new places and new go to restaurants and this will be one on my list…
Recommended by Johor Kaki, and many others before him. The noodles were soft and the sauce was really plentiful, flavourful and strong without being overwhelming – ketchup sweet, vinegary, savoury and lardy. Sweeter and more tangy than many others. The fishballs were standard springy ones with good fish flavour, minced pork fresh and savoury, liver crunchy, mushrooms juicy and earthy. The soup was also porky, rich and tasty. Nice.
A nice traditional comfort meal at an affordable price in the heart of Singapore's Central Business District.
I liked it. The mee pok had a nice texture and were well tossed that it didn't clump together.
These are just a couple of dim sum Chef Shen would order again in a heart beat.
We liked all the items on the Kai Garden Set Lunch menu but especially the Peking duck, the glutinous rice and coconut puree. The lunch at $58++ per person was not cheap but we felt it was fair value. We had delectable quality food and we enjoyed the meal.
嘉苑(Kai Garden)位于滨海广场相当僻静的一角,开张三年来周边餐馆起起落落,嘉苑靠着一批熟客的支持,以及主厨深厚的功底,稳扎稳打。
I am definitely jealous of all the people in Singapore who have access to multiple Din Tai Fungs all over the city.
Of all the XLBs I have tasted, the dough skin from Din Tai Fung still is one of the best even though they weren’t exactly melt-in-your-mouth texture as proclaimed.
Even the desserts (mango pudding & almong tofu) and drinks (sweet and sour prune drink) were wonderful.
Savour the Best of Singapore Delights through the Good Old Taste Heritage Set Meal By Rasapura Masters is highly recommended for both local and tourists alike. We are sure it will be a hit among especially tourists.
