I only had eyes, however, for the Cheezy Meltdown (RM19). The sandwich was all I had hoped for – cheesy goodness with a good balance of textures. The cheese tasted a lot like the KFC cheese sauce, and got a little overwhelming after a while. Even one slice was very filling. If you’re a small eater, I suggest getting this to share.

House Rice Bowl, 17.90 ringgit I must say, this is one eatery that provides you with plenty of gravy when you order a rice bowl. For some reason, lots of eateries like serving them rice bowls dry, with as little gravy as possible. Why, why, why? This rice bowl came with boneless chicken thigh, poached egg, pickled cucumber and vegetables with plenty of sweet, ketchup-py gravy. It was yummy – simple yet delicious.

The skin is thick so I like it. The minced pork and chives fillings reminded me of the fillings of Siew Long Bao sold by Esquire Kitchen. There are about 8 dumplings in one bowl. I recommended this dish to my family and they like it too because they like Beijing style dumplings.

The signature rice noodles with meatball, which according to others, the meatball has a soupy and juicy filling, which will burst in your mouth. I started with having a sip of its soup and it did not disappoint me. The soup, which was made from fish bone, was flavourful but refreshing at the same time. The rice noodles were very springy, well absorbed with the soup. While others may not like coriander, I was very pleased that coriander was given generously on the top of my bowl. Anyway, if you don't like it, you may opt it out by informing the waiter.

If there's anything more noticeable at Go Noodle House besides its rows and rows of Chinese wine, it's the never ending queue outside! At da:men on a weekday, during a late 2 pm lunch, there was a short 2 group queue in front of my group of 3 pax. It's not that the restaurant lacks space, it's just full all the time. The Asam Laksa was awesome too. Although this dish I decided to go for SMALL, the portion was generous as well. The sardines, at most eateries, I’d usually get only one chunk but here is got three, large pieces. Now that, I liked very much. It makes all the difference, you know? Yea yea, I am tad cuckoo when it comes to them sardines. Then, there was the laksa noodles + cracker/keropok + lettuce + shrimp paste + onions + pineapples. A satisfying dish it was. It embodied and fulfilled all the elements of an asam laksa.

Besides curry noodles and assam laksa, they also offer Tom Yum Noodles, Fish Ball Noodles and Jawa Mee. The curry noodles here is definitely my preferred choice over the assam laksa. This curry mee can give our favourite curry laksa a run for its money although it didn't knock it off its top spot in our books. Plus the price for such a fully loaded bowl makes it really cheap. Make sure you order their two side snacks of Penang Lobak and Penang Otak-Otak as they're equally yum. If you can't make it here, they've opened a stall in Makan-Makan by Parkson (on Level 3, Sunway Velocity Mall) since February 2017 under the name of Homey Curry Laksa (now that's a name I can understand). They strive to give you the homemade taste (like your mom or grandma makes or use to make) in their curry mee, hence the name Jia Li Mian or Homey Curry Laksa. Did they deliver? For me, they did.

Verdict: For a place that is so crowded and well known, the food is quite good, and service fast too, because the rest had arrived at 6, dinner was served at 6.30 and I arrived at 7.... ( I had Saturday line dance class from 3 to 5) after dinner, I went to Jacey's house to fetch J who had finished her camp at Temerloh.

Pasta stirfried local style so it tastes like mee goreng. Very flavourful. From the ala carte menu, it costs MYR 15.80+ (6% SST = MYR 16.75 nett) from Brew House, SS2, PJ.

The main dishes I tried didn't quite endear me with their taste possibly because it was just too much meat (for me) in one sitting. The draw factor for its popularity is certainly its low prices (with most mains costing below RM20) and big portions. If you're ok with the unimaginative and simple taste of localised western food (and some processed food forming part of the ingredients), then you'd probably be ok with the food here.

Yessss, the char siew here was utterly yummy. Sweet and succulent, tender and juicy. Notice the size of each piece? Yea, the pieces of char siew here are large.

You may have to spend around RM20 per pax for a meal here if you order their char siew separately by portion sizes. If you find the prices too steep, then go for a more reasonably priced plate of char siew rice. Though this place has been around for 7 years now, I don't know if the standard is still the same as when they first started (since this is my first visit) but it definitely has a place (in my books) among some of the top-notch char siew I've had over the years. We tend to eat at the same places or close to where we live and I'm only discovering some of these places since I started blogging about my food experiences among others. I guess I should have come sooner but better late than never, right? It'll be interesting to see what's in store at their new place.....new additions to the menu perhaps? I shall return! ^_^

I've stuck to their soup noodles in all my subsequent visits and I'm pleased to have found a consistent fail-safe pork noodles that is worth the money time after time. I run out of noodles to accompany the meat cause there's just lots of meat to go around - just look at the photo above. The pork meatballs have bits of dried squid mixed in - fragrant with a nice bite, my favorite kind! It's a satisfying meal every time the craving hits or if I feel under the weather.

Usually there’s a long wait for the freshly baked egg tarts, but we were lucky to able to get our hands on them within minutes. Nam Heong’s egg tarts are actually as good as what you get at Hong Kee and their main difference lies in the tart shell. As you can see Nam Heong’s egg tart crust is layered which contributes to that crispy and satisfying bite. It’s also a good idea to enjoy the tarts as soon as possible while they are still warm. Those that we took away and ate later that night just didn’t taste quite as awesome.

Nam Heong Ipoh Nasi Lemak One of the main difference this version compared to those that we have eaten at other places; is the rice which is Pandan flavored. The second is that; this Nasi Lemak is served with pieces of Luncheon meat (Chinese Style) accompanied with the spicy cockles (kerang) sambal which we really like.

One definitely need to try their signature coffee and tea which is smooth and fragrant. It definitely has the oomph a good cup of traditional coffee should have so make sure to order a cup to enjoy especially if you are getting their pastries.

Ask anyone who stays in the neighborhood of SS2 (Petaling Jaya) for an inexpensive, quick and comfortable place for Zhu Char (Chinese Stir Fry dishes), New Paris Restaurant is probably one of the names most mentioned. The long-established Chinese home-styled restaurant has been there for long and has since, earned its reputation for being one of the best Chinese restaurants around. Nestled within the housing area, the restaurant occupies 3 units with a huge signage can be easily spotted from far. The place is huge and could easily accommodate diners in large groups, air-conditioned seats are available too. The Cantonese-styled menu is large and reasonably priced (in the context of Klang Valley's living standards).
