Lamb Slider If burger is too big for you, this juicy lamb patties sliders are sure to keep you just right. Another simple yet delicious dish.
Next, we had the Crispy Black Pepper Chicken Wrap and this was one of my favourite dish on that evening. It has crispy chicken strips, mixed salad, tomato, cucumber, black pepper & sliced cheese and comes with a side of fries and a small salad. The chicken strip was pretty generous and it was delicious.
Good eats, fresh beats, great company- are what you can expect when patroning The X whether for a pleasant dining, casual hangout or a special occasion celebrated with buddies alike. Set forth with a chic interior with warm lighting, this hideout is chill enough for epicurean to sit down and relax over a toothsome feast with booze available on the menu as well. After all, just a few tipples won’t harm right? (=

Pattisez Malaysia at Bangsar had been one of the highlight by many others as it is the Australian bakery-cafe’s first franchise branch outside Canberra, Australia. The cafe was previously known for their epic Freakshakes monster-sized milkshakes heaped high with out-of-control toppings. In Malaysia, they were one of the early adopters to drive the trend previously along with few other inspired cafes.
It was a random weekend night that me and some others decided to head to Bangsar, not for beer, but for coffee. As we drove by Jalan Telawi, we saw Pattisez there, and it just became our spot.
The intoxicating smoky char of the grilled version, or the intrinsic sweetness of the steamed version with egg white (best paired with jasmine rice!). Both are equally good!
Since its opening in 2014, when one mentions Pince & Pints at Duxton Road, you think of nothing but lobsters and lobster rolls. Now that it has expanded its menu to include crabs as well
Steak Diane Fill up your tummy with the Steak Diane. The delicious and tender juicy grain-fed chilled sirloin ( 200g) is perfectly made and served together with the roasted potatoes and the creamy honey mustard sauce. It’s meat is perfect to my tastebuds and every mouthful simply divine.
Our favorite was the Twice baked cheese souffle (RM24) with creamy mushroom sauce and chunky toast. Rich and velvety with great flavours, this was so moreish, I wanted more.
Reasons to try out the new summer additions on the W1 Bangsar menu: Consistently good food; a lovely summery twist on cocktails; super ambience; attentive service
Combining the culinary flair and colourful flourishes of Tokyo’s Izakayas and Madrid’s tapas bars, Kouzu aims to be a casual hub for contemporary Japan fusion dining.
We also recommend Kouzu’s interesting version of pizza. Instead of the usual flour dough, the pizzas here are made with a crispy rice base and topped with exotic ingredients like wasabi, yuzo, miso and escargot! The Escargot Pizza is a one that I can eat over and over again.
Stone Grilled Beef (RM29) The hot tapas list features some substantial meaty items. The Stone Grilled Beef and Spicy Miso Lamb Rack are our favourites. Marinated well, the meat is tender and juicy, delicious to the last bite.
My Personal Opinion What can I say...everything is fresh, fresh, fresh....from super fresh seafood to freshly made pasta to freshly made kitchen sauces....and I want more, more, more! If you could have just one dish here...make it the Seafood Aglio-Olio (for now)...or just any dish with clams in it. I hope to be back to try more of their dishes...and I'm sure I'll find more to like.
Wagyu Bone Marrow RM35 First try on Wagyu Bone Marrow, and found it very interesting. The core of this dish lies in the center of the bone – the jelly-like beef bone marrow. Scoop up and savour it just on its own; or spread over crispy crostini; or enjoy with parsnip puree, red wine reduction, and onion marmalade.
Reasons to visit Bait Bangsar: value for money and attentive service. Everything we tasted today was very good indeed but if forced to choose only one highlight, it would be the Seafood Jambalaya. Late night visitors should also check out Bait for its Nasi Lemak (RM15) which is available to take away once normal kitchen service ceases at 22.30.
Grilled Sirlion Steak - RM41.00 We ordered a medium done grill. This dish is with potato wedges, broccoli and carrots. The BBQ sauce is thick and flavorful.
The meringue was delicious too. I love the sweet taste from meringue contrast well with the sourness from the fresh strawberry. Yum!! Great combo for the coffee.
Reasons to visit La Cave Wine Bar: Nice artisanal touches and a good range of options for alcoholic accompaniment.
Reasons to visit La Cave Bangsar: intimate setting; most affordable drinking cave in Bangsar!
With a fourth generation wine maker Florian Paul Raymond as one of the partner, wine enthusiastic have a new option to sample more wines choices especially uncommon and unconventional labels from both the New and Old World wines. Donnie Eugene Maclary is the other brain of La Cave and it’s for the same passions especially for good wine and socialising, that the two made such good team to bring some unique drinking experience for consumers in the trendy Telawi enclave in Bangsar.
The succulently delicious Roast Lamb Rack! Served with sauteed baby spinach, garlic confit, wild mushroom and finished off with a drizzle of tamarind infused lamb jus.
Reasons to visit: Excellent value set menu (3 large courses + a glass of wine RM100); perfect for date night or an evening with friends; smoke-free venue (thank you!!!); live jazz music Friday and Saturday evenings; everything was expertly executed but really don’t miss the scallops, beef and you must try a dessert!
Reasons to visit Shelley Yu’s: pretty setting; Nyonya inspired drinks; do try the Rozelle Spritz; good happy hour deals; nice gin collection.
Rusuk masak kicap (RM60) - one of our favourite dishs here at Shelley Yu's! Beef short ribs are first marinated for 48 hours and then slow cooked in soy and spices for hours until fork tender and falling off the bone.
For the past couple of days, I have been having cravings for Don (short for donburi - a Japanese rice bowl dish). Hence I decided to drop by Five-HT, a Japanese Fusion restaurant, for dinner. One of the reasons why I enjoy fusion food so much is because the amalgamation of flavors and textures, never ceased to surprise me. Marrying conventional ingredients the unconventional way - sometimes it works; sometimes it doesn't, and at most instances, I'd never know what to expect. Five-HT however, was a little bit of a hit and miss for me. Tip: Stick to the Dons and the Coffees.
FIVE-HT (or 5HT) Cafe at Bangsar Kuala Lumpur (*Same row with Maria Steakhouse) raises the attention of cafe hoppers with their modern contemporary interior that carries cozy charm, but no trace of big breakfast, egg benedict, French toast or any creative food that can branch out from classic brunch favourite on the menu. Japanese rice bowl takes the center stage here, while keeping coffee as the focused beverage, with coffee beans proudly sourced from various countries.
Reasons to visit: good value cocktails; an easy to read signature list; my personal favourites were the Dancing Ape, Dragon’s Breath and Fairy’s Tears; hubby’s top picks were the Genie Pop and the Yeti Cup.
Reasons to visit: Authentic Barcelonian cuisine with traditional Catalan flavours. Try the Torrada with the Botifarra sausage, the Iberico ham, or the Spanish bacon! Trade in your daily chain store coffee for a proper Juan Valdez coffee!
Catalan style hard pork sausage, dry cured ham, cured sheep smoked cheese, fried egg with potato & chorizo, seafood paella, cold roast eggplant with goat cheese, mixed Spanish olives, catalan-style beef stew, Iberico ham croquettes and more – Menu on Mercat spans from classic tapas, Spanish comfort food to interesting selections, presented in eye-appealing, tasty manner.
All in all, Mercat offers great selection of tapas that exhibit fresh ingredients and beautiful presentation. Whenever you feel like having Spanish food, Mercat should definitely be on your radar.
Lamb Shank was delicious too. Tender and juicy meat cooked in a super delicious broth. Delicious!! If you are lamb lover, you got to try this!! Lamb Shank @ RM 78
