The char kway teow was sweeter and wetter than usual, tasting more of the sweet soy sauce, possibly to make up for the lack of pork lard. It still had a good garlicky wok hei, with soft and slippery noodles and some sauce on the plate, although there was not that much egg. The vegetables with dried anchovies were fresh and refreshing, and added a nice touch.
Overall, the Char Kway Teow is the dry-type with no excess sauce nor oil at the bottom of your plate.
