Last but not least, you can’t just tell people that you went to Big Tree Foot (大树脚) without having their signature beverage – Red Bean Ice Smoothies (红豆冰) which costs only RM2.50 per cup. Tastes mild sweet, flaky and irresistible strong red bean flavor, this long-forgotten cold beverage is definitely the best duo with Yong Tau Fu (quench thirst and wash any greasy feel), not to mention it just feels awesome drinking cold stuff under any hot sunny days! 😉

Another one of their popular dishes is the boiled baby octopus (RM18). The price is pretty steep, and the portion is not that big either, but you’ll be rewarded with springy, chewy pieces of baby octopi, drizzled in a light soy sauce and fragrant fried shallots.

If you love to have braised chicken RM6.00 then be sure to secure one for yourself while dining in Tuck Kee, you are considered in luck if manage to lay your fingers into one of those since it is very famous among locals and fast-selling ones. Tuck Kee’s only uses spring chicken feet (almost half size of normal ones) as their main ingredient to ensure that it always remains soft and succulent, you can easily nibble out all those collagen goodies from the chicken feet plus it tastes great while enjoying with wat dan noodles as well! 😉

We consider Lou Wong chicken portion is slightly bigger (talking about single portion here) than what we had in KL and definitely well worth it, texture-wise is obviously succulent and juicy at its best (with some white jello around the chicken skin), basically other than that, nothing much to shout about because it just tastes almost the same compared to other common steam chicken.

You can't deny that the cafe has a rustic and quirky charm about it but it's a place you'd probably end up liking because of the decor and ambience more than the food. When we were there on a (school holiday) Monday at peak lunch time, the place was pretty empty with just one other table occupied. This is probably a far cry from its manic days when they first opened and were blazing through social media. But still a decent place to hang out over a cuppa (and soak in the quirky interior) or to rest your legs (for north or southbound travellers) ^_* I can't help but wonder why only Burps & Giggles remain to this day....I can only guess that having three cafes in the same row is stretching it a bit, especially so when customers dwindle down after the initial hoo-ha. I suppose that charm and arty ambience can only get you so far but when all is done and dusted, it's the (consistently good) food that will keep you in the game in the long haul! ;)

Likes: Very fast Dislikes: Average, overrated food - really nothing special at all. Very terrible service. Expect sarcasm or scoldings from the old people who manages the place.... I think it's pretty normal from any old folk.

The banana fritters had a nice, crisp batter and were soft and sweet on the inside. I was pleasantly surprised to find fried cempedak here as we don't see them often in KL these days.

The best thing here is the Fried Nian Gao, as it comes with Yam as well. The fried banana fritters is a bit too sweet and soft.
