I’ve been to Xin Cuisine before, and true to expectations, the food was very enjoyable. The first course set the tone with the eye-catching Caviar Roasted Duck. Everyone raved about the Hashima & Crab Meat Soup, and when I say everyone, that includes the Ang Moh and the 2 kids! The baked lobster, so flavourful I really wished I had several more! We thoroughly enjoyed every dish. I guess the only complaint if I had one is that the Braised seasonal Vegetables in Superior Stock looks a little simple and plain, and the portion size not very large.

It was a satisfying meal and am glad that my friends enjoyed it too. Thank you and compliments to the Chef and team Beast & Butterflies.
That looked and tasted much better than it sounded, with that super tender pork belly covered in a velvety yet light sauce over distinct grains of rice.
If I can just get past my guilt, then I might come here more often given the good quality of ingredients that they use in these Inflation Menu dishes.
The Inflation Menu item at The English House today was this fish pie, which was delicate and easy to eat. It turns out that they also have wine by the glass on the Inflation Menu too.

A food blog from a Singapore-based traveler
Portions were a little small. Prices were a little high.
A popular place for Greek food in Singapore, Bakalaki Greek Taverna is a large Greek restaurant in the River Valley Road / Mohamed Sultan area. Here are some of the food that we tried during a repeat visit.
Bakalaki really is better visited in a large group, when one can share all sorts of stuff, like all of this nicely grilled seafood, not to mention a whole fish that they grilled and filleted for us, following a bunch of meze. I still can't confidently say whether I prefer these guys or Blu Kouzina, but the brightly lit decor is a nice setting for a business lunch.
The space is light and airy and inviting. The food is even better!
The New York Steakhouse at Robertson Quay has a new Valentine’s Day Menu from 5 to 14 February 2021.
Apart from the steaks, Wolfgang Steakhouse does great pasta too.

Like Shabu Shabu, beat the egg and dip your meat and vegetables into the beaten egg mixture for a complete sukiyaki experience.
Tamoya Udon is known for its silky udon handmade fresh daily with ingredients imported from Japan.
Tonjiru Onsen Udon (house-made Red Miso soup) is slightly sweet but yet it was so yummy.
One of the best, if not the best curry rice in Singapore, Loo’s Hainanese Curry Rice is something that you have to try at least once in your lifetime. Queues start to form very early, and the popular dishes do tend to sell out fast! So, come early to get your hands on a plate of messy goodness!
Hainanese Curry Rice in Singapore, check out Loo’s if you are in Tiong Bahru which will not disapppoint.

If you prefer to have lighter bites, I'd recommend the pork satay and the deep fried wings.
At S$38 (US$29), this thing was not cheap. But I saw my teammate ordering this at Ichinoji yesterday and for some reason I couldn’t get the thought of those scallops out of my head, so I came down to give it a try.
I'm really enjoying that restaurants in Singapore are always refreshing their menus with seasonal items because it means foodies like us will always have something new to look forward to every few months.

Porta's all-day dining menu sees new creations as well, starting with Parma Ham ($16).
this is definitely one of my favourite Yu Sheng till date.
Overall, food quality was not too bad. Apart from that, I find that their service was kind of lacking given a weekday evening.
I wasn't completely sure what Hainan fen was, which was precisely why I decided to give it a try at the newly renovated People's Park Food Centre (32 New Market Road #01-1100).
The duck did not have any crispy skin either. Apparently the third generation from Toh Kee, which closed on 1 Feb 2020 and is now revived by the grandson and ex head chef.
Meat was reasonably tender with full flavoured skin and some bits of fat.
The staycation workshops were pretty fun, and worth getting it together with the room. Plus, you get to enjoy the end product!
I don't know if these guys are really from Joo Chiat, but that was the name of the new stall number 28 at Zion Riverside Food Centre.
I'm pretty sure that I've eaten at this stall before (70 Zion Road #01-20). But I've really only taken notice now that I've become a bigger fan of Hokkien mee in recent days.
There are a bazillion bars out here, but this one served some kind of Indian-Mexican fusion, so we stopped in for a bite (11 Unity Street #01-12).

Food at Dashi Master Marusaya remains traditional Japanese cuisine, focused on soups, stews, and small bites, with the highlight being the house dashi stock. Fresh premium ingredients are used, resulting in dishes that are tasty, hearty, wholesome, and healthy. Portions are sized for communal group dining, and sharing remains encouraged. Prices are pegged at a premium, budget about SGD $50 per person.
We enjoyed our return dining experience at Dashi Master Marusaya, and will be back for more. Those who love hearty Japanese hot pot dining will love Dashi Master Marusaya as well.
Overall, it is great to be back at Dashi Master Marusaya. The food remains impressive and we like the enhanced version of the dashi broth.
As a traditional Cantonese family, meals on the 2nd day of the Lunar New Year signify the abundance of food for the rest of the year. Usually, we will either cook at home or eat out at a Chinese restaurant with their CNY set menus, but this was the first year we decided to try a buffet lunch since the variety will be more sumptuous than a 10-course lunch
I find that this buffet offers good value
Overall, Festive International and Seafood BBQ Buffet provide a lot of choice for this festive dinner.
Roast Meat is Fook Kin Good!
Food at Fook Kin is Chinese Singaporean cuisine, with a smattering of Thai cuisine. Their specialities include Chinese Cantonese roast meats, and Thai inspired stir-frys.
The char siew was the only thing that was not bad, nicely caramelised and sweet, although a bit tough for half fatty char siew.
